An entry of 145. Some good exhibits had to go without being placed especially in JB & LB.
I found only one suspect mouth, a few had dirty teeth, surprisingly so in a couple of puppies. Rear movement in some dogs lacked drive. A number of exhibits displayed forelegs that were flicking or paddling due to incorrect angulation from the elbow to the point of the shoulder. A few dogs were unspannable & thin pelts were in evidence. I was also disappointed to find out of condition dogs, with no muscle or second thigh. Taking a dog from the living room couch straight to a show with no exercise in between, simply doesn’t work.

MPD (5)

1 McKenzie’s Akenside Zodak The Priest, good head, correct ears, large teeth, correct neck & ribs, clean shoulders, level topline, good tailset, moved well;

2 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Bobby Owl, bl/t with good ticking, neat ears, dark eyes, keen expression, good bone, spannable, level topline. Just failed in movement to 1;

3 Aichison & Hurst’s Jock Laye The New.

PD (6,1)

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Masterpiece, best mover in the class, level topline & good tailset, spannable, good bone & feet, showed well. Between coats. BPD;

2 Cobbledick’s Laurelton Moonlight Cowboy, good head for age, well muscled & correct bone, neat feet, moved OK, showed well;

3 Davis’ Hesslemere Hi Karate.

JD (6)

1 Thomas’ Byrons Greengrass, the star of the show, this dog was fit & in hard condition, well bodied with good first & second thigh, pin wire coat, thick pelt & easily spanned, correct otter head & ear placement, large teeth & strong muzzle, good neck to well laid shoulders, correct bone & rib, neat feet, strong loin, good tailset, moved with purpose, good honest, balanced Border, credit to his owners. CC & BOB;

2 Guvercin’s Glebeheath Johnny The One, quality dog. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form, front movement just tipped the scales. A lot to like about him, balanced & typical, kept topline on the move, otter head, correct ears & bone, neat feet, showed well. RCC;

3 Dean’s Cedarhill Authorized.

ND (3,1)

1 C Authorized, decent Border, good head, ears & neck, pleasing outline, correct bone & feet, strong loin in good condition. Unfortunately no coat;

2 B Bobby Owl.

PGD (16,3)

1 Wallace’s Hobholt Harrier, excellent pin wire coat, up to size but still spannable, correct head, good bite, narrow body with racy quarters, straight forelegs, sufficient bone, small feet, balanced & moved with drive;

2 Peacock’s Ragatam Harris, lovely otter head, short strong muzzle, in good jacket, spannable, strong loin, well angulated quarters, good tailset. Thought he would be my winner but just failed to 1 in front movement;

3 Jackson’s Clipstone Tailor.

LD (13,4)

1 Clark’s Gameway Charles Dickens, nice size, spannable, harsh coat & level topline, otter head, correct ears, dark eye, in good condition with evidence of strong first & second thigh, nice profile, moved well;

2 Martin’s Dugaden Tusker, bl/t, strong muzzle, pleasing head & expression, well turned stifles, harsh coat, moved well with drive;

3 Culley’s Earthwise Deuteronomy.

OD (9,2) 1 Reeves’ Baywillow Racing Blue, bl/t with good ticking, otter head, strong jaw & good bite, well placed ears & dark eye, correct rib & strong loin with second thigh, good neck & ribs, moved & showed well;

2 Hunt’s Ottaswell Correspondent, liked him a lot but his coat was on the blow which made him look larger than he was, easily spanned, strong masculine head, good neck, shoulders & angulation, lovely outline & balanced, correct bone & feet, moved soundly;

3 Sharp’s Rhozzum Dankworth.

V (9,1)

1 Hunt’s Ch Ottaswell Superstition, 10 years & what a stayer, in excellent hard condition, level topline, deep & narrow body with ribs carried well back, thick pelt & dense coat, good bone & feet, moved effortlessly, showed well, worthy ch;

2 Freivokh’s Kelgram Kashmi at Artwork, nearing 9 years, in good coat & condition, feminine head, correct ear placement, moderate neck & good lay of shoulders, moved well;

3 Lane’s Pripruda Travellers Tale at Reedbeck.

MPB (10,1)

1 Hopper’s Terracaos Nell Gwynn at Esyntona, bl/t with ticking coming through, lovely strong but feminine head, short muzzle, good teeth, coat & pelt, spannable, correct bend of stifle won this class on movement, showed well. BP;

2 Martin’s Stineval Celeste at Merumhor, not as mature as 1. Good head for her age, in harsh coat, level topline. Movement needs to settle;

2 Stockley’s Rhozzum Keynote with Foxfactor.

PB (9,2)

1 Davis’ Hesslemere Miss Lemon, out of coat but still had the quality & movement to win this class, nice size, otter head with short muzzle, good bite, correct neck, level topline, good tailset, narrow & racy;

2 Barnes’ Conundrum’s Charasmatic, balanced otter head, hand size. Out of coat but still deserved her place, moved well & kept her topline on the move, correct tailset;

3 Hibberd’s A Speck Of Gold Dust at Biddestone.

JB (12)

Good class of bitches, unfortunately some had to go cardless, it was the most difficult of the day.

1 CC, Ramus’ Dandyhow Rose And Crown;

2 Pickering’s Picer Bright Idea,

two quality bitches in their own right, competitive decision to make but one had to be made & what tipped the scales in favour of Rose And Crown was her narrow racy lines & level topline. Although not the head of Bright Idea, Rose And Crown still had the strength of muzzle, overall balance & angulation to win the class. Two super bitches. Unfortunately in the challenge for RCC Bright Idea tended to lean in towards her handler which affected her front movement;

3 Limebear & Irving’s Dandyhow Blue Bell.

NB (7)

1 D Blue Bell, bl/t with good ticking, pin wire coat, spannable, feminine head, excellent mover, good bone & outline;

2 H Miss Lemon;

3 D’Arcy-Donnelly & Matthews’ Mattedonn Bonnie Beatrix.

PGB (21,3)

1 Docwra’s Bandicoot Candy Twist, otter head with dark eyes, excellent bite, well angulated, harsh coat, good shoulders & rib, neat feet, nice outline moved well;

2 Fraser & Butler’s Wagtail Lass via Ycart, nice bitch, narrow & correct bone, strong loin, with second thigh, moved with drive, good head & expression, in excellent coat & condition;

3 Hunt’s Ottaswell Carmen.

LB (21)

1 Nicholls’ Baywillow Maid With Spice for Halcus, up to size but still spannable, strong but feminine otter head, short muzzle, keen expression, pin wire coat, racy lines in hard condition, strong loins, good bend of stifle, moved & showed well;

2 Aldous’ Twigglestone Aylnthus, correct head & earset, good bite, neck & shoulders, correct rib, good angulation & balance, moved well;

3 Harris’ Penlumeg Pendant.

OB (7)

1 Bean’s Ch Manorcroft Taylormade, lovely quality bitch, strong but feminine otter head, short muzzle, good bite & square jaw, easily spanned, pin wire coat, in hard condition, well laid shoulders, first & second thigh in evidence, neat feet, correct tail, moved with style & pressed the CC winner hard but in the final challenge she did not give her all which was a pity. Still a worthy ch. RCC;

2 Jenkins’s Baywillow Blue Boquet for Badgerbeck, bl/t with good ticking, very nice bitch, racy lines & balanced, good neck & shoulders, spannable, good ribs carried well back, moved well. Just lacked the muscletone & harsh coat of 1;

3 Sharp’s Baywillow Columbine.
