BORDER JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 08

Border Terriers

A quality entry of 168 exhibits. I was really pleased with all my winners & placed dogs.

On a down note there were a few dogs who I admired entering the ring, but when I put my hands on them I was disappointed to discover they were lacking in muscletone & ultimately they paid the penalty.

VD (3,1a)

1 Norris’ Brookbank Break The Spell, a good type of dog, pleasing in head, nice expression. Good front still keeping nice bodylines. Shown in good coat enjoying his day out;

2 Wrenn & Langdon’s Dandyhow Sir Toby, similar comments as 1 but didn’t quiet have the sparkle of 1.

MPD (7,2)

1 Norris’ Brookbank Could It Be Magic, well balanced youngster with good head & expression, nice make & shape in rib & loin, moved & handled well;

2 Kenyon’s Tallowbrook Encore, different type to 1, big enough, narrow front, OK in head, rangy type, moved OK. Preferred the coat of 1;

3 Rumsan’s Jenabeck Soloist.

PD (7)

1 Davis’ Hesselmere Hi Karate, good head & shoulder, very good tight coat & pelt, excellent in front, good tight feet, excellent mover. One to watch for the future. BP;

2 Gregory’s Westmarte Capalgo Time at Visrie, unlucky to meet 1 in such fine form, another good sort, pleasing head, good front & feet, good in body, nice rear angulation;

3 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Bobby Owl.

JD (7,3)

1 Barber’s Alcumlow Starstruck, rangy type of dog, good in head & front, nice reach of neck, good set-on, strode out well;

2 Baird’s Dowgri Daredevil, smart dog, good head & shoulders, big teeth, well balanced;

3 H Hi Karate.

GD (7,2)

1 Vasey & Peacock’s Ruelata Boulder, very sound moving dog , good head & muzzle, good topline, shown in good jacket, moved OK;

2 Dickinson & James’ Blackmine Rossington to Badgerholme, nice balanced dog, good reach of neck, moved & handled OK;

3 Culley’s Johncroft Orcadian Scion.

PGD (9,3)

1 Morgan’s Blewe of Hullavington, really liked this one, a good honest Border who could do a day’s work, good head & expression, big teeth, strong underjaw, ample bone, good tight feet, shown in super coat & condition;

2 Golding’s Master Minstral at Beaconpike, nice stamp of dog, same comments as 1 , these two will change places many times;

3 Evans’ Jenabeck Cie Coch of Nogard.

LD (18,1)

Class of the day, shame I could only place five.

1 Thomas’ Byrons Green Grass, this dog came to win & pulled out all the stops, he was presented in first class condition, didn’t put a foot wrong, nicely balanced, excellent pelt, nice head, good reach of neck, good shoulders, super front, tight feet, moved like a dream, a credit to his owners. CC;

2 Clark’s Gameway Charles Dickens, good type, good balanced head & reach of neck, neat feet; 3 Fryer’s Up Helly Aa. OD (13,1) 1 Fryer’s Ch Irton Silver Knight, will do the job he was bred for, good head, feet, coat & pelt, shown in fit condition, moved true. RCC; 2 Lee’s Ch Tythrop Tapas, another worthy champion who was handled & shown in tip-top condition. Just not the sparkle of 1; 3 Sharp’s Rhozzum Dankworth.

VB (5,2) 1 Jordan’s Lilah’s Girl Rubicon, liked this bitch when she entered the ring, still performed like a youngster, moved & handled well. BV;

2 Freivokh’s Kelgram Kashmir at Artwork, good topline, OK in coat & head, another one enjoying her day;

3 Waller’s Quatford Deep Run.

MPB (18,3)

A class of promising puppies.

1 Rayner’s Stoneygin Mocuishle, up to size, narrow & rangy puppy, good tight coat, thick pliable pelt, nice reach of neck, good front & rear, moved OK;

2 Williams’ Hollowmoor Casilva, promising, everything is there in the right position, should mature into a nice bitch;

3 Singh’s Comberdown Claddagh between Vandamere.
