SCOTTISH JUDGE WINDSOR 08 Scottish Terriers A lovely entry, only 9 absent. All except one was new to me. Size was varied in both sexes, only one incorrect mouth. Temperaments good as was presentation. Movement overall was of a good standard. PD (5,1a) All balanced pups at different stages of development. 1 BP & RCC, O’Connor’s Cfqd Du Moulin De Mac Gregor, striking 10 months light brindle who took my attention on entering the ring, clean skull, well set ears, good length of muzzle & correct bite, good pigment, neat front, well ribbed, level topline & sound quarters used well on the move, lovely jacket. Needs to tighten in front but should come with maturity; 2 Sherwood & Pearmain’s Ashkeltar Ewan Me at Delandmar, 10 months black, well developed, head of good length, neat ears, good bite, well off for bone, ribs well sprung, sound quarters, level topline, good tailset. Not the verve of 1 in the run-off; 3 Walker’s Beaureveur Magnifique. JD (3,1a) 1 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life, black, not a big one but balanced overall, well set ears, dark eye, good bite, neat front, good spring of rib, short back, well muscled quarters, in good coat, moved freely. A little proud of his tail; 2 Milburn-Gates’ Diddling Dan with Liroda, wheaten, larger than 1, balanced head, good bite, well off for bone, well ribbed, sound quarters, moved steadily. Less weight would be to advantage. PGD (4) 1 Lewis’ Benartybrae Star Sailor, black, not seen this dog for sometime & was in good form, has now settled to the job in hand, well balanced head, good earset, good length of head, keen eye, good bite & neat front, good run-in to well sprung ribs, level topline, good tailset & powerful hindquarters used to advantage on the move, well turned out; 2 Hill’s Bonnieanne Norman at Tahgmor, good dog to handle, excellent bone, good length of head, correct bite, well sprung ribs, powerful quarters, well padded feet, tailset OK. Less body coat would present a better outline overall; 3 Dodson’s Polwicks Smokey Quartz. LD (7,1) 1 Mahoudi’s Brio Quizzical, black of substance, balanced head, good ear, eye & expression, good bone, excellent spring of rib, level topline, good tailset, strong hindquarters, well muscled & used well on the move to give good drive from behind; 2 Plane’s Stuane Loch Ranger, b/br, clean skull, neat ears, dark eye, good bite, well ribbed, tail set on, well padded feet. On the move lacked the sparkle of 1; 3 Maidment’s Berrybreeze Jubilation. OD (4) 1 CC & BOB, Plane’s Ch Stuane Loch Guard, b/br, well balanced head, neat ears, good eye, expression & bite, neat front assembly, good run-in, well ribbed, level topline, good tailset, sound quarters, hocks well let down, in good coat, low to ground covered the ground with ease; 2 Pagram’s Torcraig With A Difference, wheaten, clean skull of good length, well shaped eye, good muzzle & bite, well off for bone, ribs carried well back, level topline, good tailset, well muscled quarters, showed & moved well. Would like him a little lower to ground; 3 Mill’s Ch Heathergreen Emanuel of Blackthorpe. V (1) 1 Marshall’s Ch Benartybrae Bear’s Rory, b/br of 9 years young, the only dog I have judged before, in fact gave him a CC 6 years ago, lovely dog to handle, head of good length, good eye & bite, neat front, good run-in, well ribbed, good topline & sound quarters, in lovely coat. Pushed for the RCC, moved & showed very well but could not match the pup’s verve, a credit to his owner/breeder. PB (4) All these puppies need to settle in movement. 1 Corney’s Rilynson Sunshine Princess, 7 months brindle, well balanced bitch, neat ears, good length of head, good bite, well off for bone, well ribbed, developed quarters, good tailset, low to ground, good jacket. Difficult to assess movement as she was full of puppy spirit. Won her place on overall make & shape; 2 Mill’s Sweetgarett Bonny Blossom of Blackthorpe, black, clean skull, neat ear & good bite, still developing, well ribbed, good tailset. Moved soundly but not so compact & bodied as 1; 3 Corney’s Rilynson Moonlight Isle. JB (10,3) 1 Pagram’s Torcraig Black Pearl, black, not a big bitch, clean balanced head, good bite. Would like more strength in neck. Good spring of rib, level topline, tail bang on, used quarters well on the move. Needs to drop but still maturing; 2 O’Connor’s Caipirinha Du Moulin De Mac Gregor, wheaten, lovely feminine head, good ear, eye & bite, good pigment, good run-in, level topline, good tailset, low to ground, lovely jacket. Thought she was my winner but could not match 1 on movement; 3 Marshall’s Jessica At Midnight with Benartybrae. PGB (7,2) 1 Pagram’s Torcraig Fair Enough, wheaten, litter sister to junior winner but more mature throughout. Well balanced head, well set ears, good eye, bite & pigment, neat front, good neck & run-in, well ribbed, level back, good tailset, good jacket. Still maturing but needs to drop to complete the overall outline. Saw enough of this bitch on the go-around, on the move up & down something spooked her, to place her first in the challenge she had recovered moved & showed well to gain RCC; 2 Sherwood & Pearmain’s Ashkeltar Maybe This Time at Delandmar, black, head of good length, well set ears, dark eye, good bite, well sprung ribs, topline level. Would like her shorter over the loin. Good tailset, used quarters well on the move. LB (3) 1 Marshall’s Benartybrae Starlette Belle, black, lovely bitch to handle, well balanced throughout, feminine head of good length, neat ears, keen expression, good dentition, just right for bone, well ribbed, well defined quarters, tailset on, good coat, covered the ground with free flowing movement; 2 Mahmoudi’s Brio Inquizitive, black, larger than 1 but balanced, good head, neat ears, correct bite, good bone, lovely spring of rib, level topline, powerful hindquarters, in good coat. Not disgraced at being second, just preferred the flowing movement of 1; 3 Laffoley & Edwards’ Yeloffal Rough Trade. OB (3,1) 1 CC, Miller’s Ch Brio Exquizite, b/br, head of good length, neat ears, good eye & bite, neat front, well boned, good spring of rib carried well back, level topline, tail bang on, used quarters well on the move, in full coat, presented a good outline standing & on the move; 2 Beckton & Blower’s Killisport Amaretta, substantial brindle, balanced skull, well set ears, good muzzle & bite, good bone, well ribbed, short back. Lacking undercoat. Tail set on, powerful quarters used well on the move, low to ground, showed well. Preferred front of 1.
