SCOTTISH JUDGE WELSH KC 08 Scottish Terriers An excellent entry. MPD (4,1a) 1 Bettis’ Glenheath Independent by Ornella, promising black, decent head, front & forehand, good size, good coat texture, topline & set-on, ample quarters, moved & showed soundly; 2 Eteo’s Glenmiar Whisky Mac at Janclif, thicker in skull. Could settle in shoulder. Good front & ribcage, excellent coat texture, moved & showed OK; 3 Rees’ Rabbonai Black Diamond. PD (4,1) 1 Boyce’s Trakside By The Loch, lightish brindle of good quality, good head, nice front & forehand, excellent ribbing, short & level with good set-on, well pronounced quarters, excellent coat & condition, moved & showed well; 2 Sherwood & Pearmain’s Ashkeltar Ewan Me at Delandmar, close up b/br, decent head though a touch thick & short in skull, first class layback, short & level with good rib & quarters, sound but erratic; 3 Eteo’s Glenmiar Whisky Mac at Jancliff. Needs time for the middlepiece. Excellent presentation, sound but a little unsettled; 3 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life. PGD (2,1) 1 P Light Of My Life, nice sort of black in good coat with decent head. Needs to fall in brisket & make up in rib. Good fore & aft, well defined quarters, showed well. LD (3,2) 1 Annan’s Lomondview Scrumpy Jack, top quality black of type & balance, quality head, cracking expression, excels in front & neckline, short & level with good set-on. Just needs more time to mature on & coat finish. Moved & showed well, one to watch. OD (4) I was absolutely torn between 1 & 2. As it transpired, whichever way around they were placed, 1 would be a ch. I truly hope that the 2 gets his title soon, he deserves to be a ch too. 1 Plane’s Stuane Loch Ranger, high quality black in excellent form, balanced head, good ears, keen eye, strong muzzle, bite & teeth, excellent front & fore with clean neckline, short & level with good set-on, first rate presentation, moved & showed well effortlessly. CC, his third; 2 Dixon’s Chatterdale Top Gun, very close up & a dog of top quality, looking the part, in tip-top coat & condition, outgoing & masculine outlook, balanced head, good eye, ear, bite & teeth, decent front & excellent layback, level with excellent set-on & well defined quarters, well handled, moved & showed so well. RCC; 3 Pagram’s Ch Torcraig With A Difference. MPB (2) 1 Plane’s Mayson Carnival at Stuane, very pleasing dark brindle, lovely type with all the essentials to go on. Slightly tail end up as she goes through a growing stage, showy if a little fazed at times but perhaps one for the future; 2 Dauncey’s Glenmiar Calypso, nice head, good topline, rib & set-on, in good form. Shoulders not her fortune which restricted front movement, showy. PB (4,1) 1 Corney’s Rilynson Sunshine Princess, lovely quality brindle with much future potential, good head, excels in forehand, neck & layback, strong level topline & good ribbing, well defined quarters, excellent coat, condition & presentation, outgoing & showy. BP; 2 Corney’s Rilynson Moonlight Isle, decent black, OK in head, good underjaw, front & neck, good topline & coat texture, moved & showed; 3 Kimber’s Rilynson Misty Maiden. JB (5) 1 Pagram’s Torcraig Black Pearl, nice black with much to like, good head, neat ear & good eye, bite & teeth. Touch leggy & brisket needs to develop. Balanced & typical with good coat she moved well using quarters to advantage; 3 Earl’s Rolanka Honey Bee. LB (6,1) 1 Coley’s Jusouth Just Florence at Kingsview, lovely sort who shouldn’t be too far away in the future & has to be handled to fully appreciate, lovely head & expression, quality forehand with good body & ribbing, well presented in fine form, ease of movement tells the story & showy too; 2 Marshall’s Benartybrae Starlette Belle, very decent black with much quality, well presented in good coat & condition. Preferred ribbing of 1. Moved & showed well; 3 Sherwood & Pearmain’s Ashkeltar Maybe This Time at Delandmar. OB (8,1) 1 Miller’s Ch Brio Exquizite, & she is, top quality, balance & type in abundance, no need to list her anatomy, on top form & in great nick, showed constantly & moved so fluently, a real pleasure to judge. She tired toward the end of the group but did well. CC, BOB & G2; 2 Annan’s Lomondview Clementina, so close up, of super quality & I notice by the same sire, no wonder these two impressed so much. I loved her as a puppy & she has not disappointed, never stopped showing & moved well. RCC; 3 Blower & Beckton’s Killisport Amaretta. ROGER WRIGHT |
