MANCHESTER JUDGE WINDSOR 08

Manchester Terriers

A lovely entry & only three absent. Hind movement & tail carriage gave concern. Teeth were a good size with correct bites. Eye colour & shape were good. Temperaments were excellent throughout. Interesting to note that LB, OB & RBB were all by the same sire.

PD & JD (0).

PGD (8)

1 Pyne’s Newtonian Black Rod, good dog to handle, lovely wedge head, well placed ears, dark eye, good muzzle & correct bite, straight front & thumbprints, good neck, deep chest, well ribbed, good cut-up & tailset, sound quarters, good tail carriage, well marked, moved & showed well;

2 Thurlow’s Westwytch Tourmaline Taboo, good wedge shaped head, good eye & bite, neat front, good ribs, deep chest & cut-up, used hindquarters well on the move, good colour & markings. Preferred tail carriage of 1;

3 Kramer’s Laurenbill’s Celtic Warlord.

OD (4,1)

1 BD, O’Neill & Mizen’s Megellan Free Runner, upstanding dog, well balanced throughout, lovely head, well placed ears, good eye & bite, straight front, correct thumbprints, good feet, neck & layback, well ribbed, good arch over loin & cut-up, sound quarters, tailset correct, well marked, moved & showed to full advantage giving a good outline on the move & standing;

2 RBD, Evans’ Ch Twisel Going Solo, well balanced, well defined head of good shape, lovely well placed ears, dark eye & correct bite, neat front, good run-in & arch over loin to cut-up, well muscled quarters used well on the move, good tail carriage. Was told afterwards that both exhibitors & dog were involved in a car accident while travelling to the show a few days before, so to make the journey again & the dog to show as he did was marvellous;

3 Braybrook’s Gloryline Sir Thomas More.

V (4)

Lovely class of veterans & a pleasure to judge all moving with freedom & verve.

1 De Lavis-Trafford’s Ch Tyburn Berenice, 11 years bitch, has still retained a lovely outline, well shaped head, dark eye, straight front, lovely neck & shoulders, deep chest, neat feet & sound quarters, good tail carriage, in lovely condition, moved & showed like a trouper;

2 Palmer’s Ch Quixol Charity at Egloshayle, a bitch who has retained her shape, lovely earset, good eye & bite, neat front, well balanced neck & shoulders, deep chest, in good coat, used quarters well on the move;

3 O’Neill’s Ch Eaglespur Piper at Megellan.

PB (3,1)

1 BP, De Lavis-Trafford’s Tyburn Lotis, 10 months, good shaped head. Ears need to settle. Good eye & bite, straight front, neat feet, good run-in & layback, well ribbed, deep chest to cut-up, sound quarters, good tail carriage, moved soundly;

2 Brown’s Tyburn Lara, litter sister to 1, similar remarks apply as 1, well balanced throughout, lovely head shape, good eye, correct bite, well ribbed. Not the tail carriage as her sister & not so settled in movement.

JB (2)

1 RBB, Palmer’s Egloshayle Lady Mauser, feminine bitch, lovely wedge shaped head, dark eye, good muzzle & bite, straight front with thumbprints, neat feet, good neck, shoulders & arch over loin, good cut-up, well angulated quarters, good tailset & carriage, shows well. Needs to tighten in front movement;

2 Smith’s Mansiya Midnight Graceful, clean skull. Ears need to settle. Dark eye, good bite, neat front, well ribbed, deep chest to cut-up, tailset OK, showed well, moved soundly. Preferred compactness of 1.

PGB (1)

1 Loch’s Eaglespur Kiwi Shadow of Trenthyde, clean skull, neat ears, good muzzle, correct bite, straight front, neat feet, deep chest & well ribbed, good tailset, moved well, good coat.

LB (3)

1 BOB, Heard & McIntyre’s Calot Ozara, lovely feminine bitch throughout, well placed ears, dark eye, excellent bite & front, good run-in & layback, deep chest to cut-up, well developed quarters which enabled her to give positive movement, excellent tail carriage, lovely outline in profile;

2 E Kiwi Shadow at T;

3 Brown & Arundel’s Browel Beatrix Potter.

OB (3,1)

1 Stubbington’s Calot Haja, litter sister to limit winner, lovely bitch, a shade bigger. Clean skull, good earset & bite, straight front, neat feet, good neck & shoulders, well ribbed to cut-up, sound quarters used well on the move; 2 De Lavis-Trafford’s Ch Tyburn Faedra, good bitch, good wedge head, dark eye, lovely front, deep chest, good coat, sound quarters. Not moving as well as 1.
