MANCHESTER RICHMOND 08 Judge: Mr Peter Eva (Sophyla) MANCHESTER JUDGE RICHMOND 08 Manchester Terriers There will be many stories about the weather conditions but for the Manchester Terriers we moved the tables five times for get on firm ground & the areas for moving dogs changed between & during classes. The flow of water through our particular tent held up most classes. Some dogs just splashed their way through as only a Manchester can. What a stoic breed we have. PD (1) 1 Morris’ Calastoa Amber Nectar, super front, lay of shoulder, reach of neck, head well formed & set on, good detail of eye etc, hard muscle throughout. BP & RCC. JD (2) 1 Mercer’s Faolan Sirius, good straight front with nice head, eye, ear carriage etc. Fit hard muscle but tended to pace until corrected, would like a bit more bone but nicely covered & condition; 2 Noden’s Lantaka Hector, better bone than 1 with good size, topline, reach of neck to flowing body, well handled & an interesting addition to the gene pool. PGD (2) 1 Wallace’s Amyandas Anchor Man, great lovely chap, bone to spare which is a treat when so many are lacking, everything in correct proportions, good topline, moved better of the two; 2 St Clair’s Mimbre First Mate, not as masculine as 1 with shorter brisket, smart as paint & a wonderful temperament. LD (3) 1 Pyne’s Newtonian Black Rod, first class condition, coat gleaming, hard muscle, straight in front. Not a lot of chest so not the lay of shoulder. Moved well in the conditions & a worthy winner here; 2 Braybrook’s Gloryline Sir Thomas More, good head detail & expression, front straight with neck, head well on. Topline with rise spoiling outline; 3 L Hector. OD (2) 1 Norris’ Ch Brookstream Marcus Banks, our best dog at the moment & who responds well to the group ring where he did the breed proud, being picked out in the final cut. In top condition, good bone, well laid in & layback of shoulders, topline, moved as made with a list of details. CC & BOB, although the BCC winner pushed hard; 2 Green’s Newtonian Slim Shady, very good Manchester T who has done the breed proud at plenty of shows, hard muscle, great head, eye, ears etc, a treat to have such quality to judge. PB (6,1a) Some very nice puppy bitches, looking good for the future of the breed. 1 Norris’ Brookstream Brooklyn, had lots to like, elegance, lovely head, expression & coat, good front & topline, at close to 12 months the more mature puppy & deserved first place; 2 Palmer’s Egloshayle Black Rosewyn, very new, 6 months & very nice, some of the attributes are bone, condition, shoulders, topline & for first show in these chaotic conditions was completely unfazed; 3 Wicker’s Mimbre Solitaire. JB (2,1) 1 Geraghty’s Tyburn Laodice, straight forward bitch, not in very hard, fit muscletone but very nice. Everything in order, front, head & body, well handled. PGB (1) 1 Loch’s Eaglespur Kiwi Shadow of Trenthyde, one who would do better without the flowing water & the island of firm ground which reduced many of the performances of the entry. Good size, very nice head & body form, well presented. LB (5) 1 Morris’ Brookstream Flower Fairy of Calastoa, not one I have seen before so it was all a new pleasure, beautiful, one I would take home any time if we had room, the overall impact is one of top quality breeding to produce a well made bitch, head is perfect, neck flowing onto a super set of well laid shoulders, best here, expression great, turn of stifle, with great backend. Reminds me of the best of past super champions. CC; 2 Heard & McIntyre’s Calot Ozara, well bred with good bone, powerful backend & topline. Could be a pound or two overweight but still very nice; 3 Palmer’s Egloshayle Lady Mauser. OB (5,1) 1 Oxley’s Ch Digelsa Double Entendre, great hard form, well presented & a great presence. Not the shoulder placement of the BB which was disappointing. Tidy head form with all the features in place. RCC; 2 Stubbington’s Calot Haja, very good bitch, pushed the winner for number 1 spot, moves very well because she is well made with good shoulder placement, fit, drive from rear,. Bbetter conditions to show movement could reverse this placement; 3 Palmer’s Ch Egloshayle Black Samphire. PETER EVA |
