SKYE JUDGE SOUTH WALES 08

Skye Terriers

Delighted to be given the opportunity to judge this pleasing entry after an absence of four years. Good to see the new reign of breeders doing so well thereby safeguarding this special breed. Just a few youngsters need to tighten up their front assemblies.

PD (1)

1. Samuel’s Skyelander Wee Man of Storm, dark grey drop eared puppy of 10 months, good shaped head, correctly placed ears, darkest of eyes, long level topline, sound on the move. BP.

JD (1)

1. Harrison’s Knowlespring Jailhouse Roc for Trenson, well made cream, balanced shape throughout from a good head, dark eye, long neck to well made shoulders, level topline & well developed quarters. Must try to control his tail carriage.

PGD (1)

1 King’s Celticbridge Moonshine, cream with black points, strong, long & masculine head, good length of body, well made throughout, muscled quarters, sound on the move. Just disappointing that he had worn away some of his face fringes.

LD (4)

1. Woodhead’s Knowlespring Sunday Best, beautiful silver presented to perfection, totally balanced, super head, dark eye, ear placement correct, level & correct length of body completes the picture. Slightly hesitant initially on the move but soon settled. RCC;

2 Barrass’ Gallondean Moonlite Shadow, b/silver, larger type than 1 but still overall balanced, good head, dark eye, well made body in hard condition, well made quarters, good coat condition;

3 Grainger’s Perrylands Ambassador.

OD (3)

1 Breeze’s Ch Gumshoe A Touch Of Frost by Salena, today’s ‘special one’, a top winner & deservedly so, outstanding specimen, black throughout, superbly presented, correct head with ear placement, super bite, topline as level as level can be, not enough superlatives to describe him, congratulations to the breeder, stock like this will ensure the breed is in safe hands. CC, BOB & G4;

2 Miller’s Ch Feorlig Give Me A Reason, worthy ch, quality throughout, slightly larger than 1, dark silver, super head with correct ear placement, lovely outline & sound on the move due to well muscled quarters;

3 Harrison’s Gumshoe The Riot Act for Trenson.

PB (0).

JB (2)

1 White’s Knowlespring You’re Wicked by Gumshoe, just out of puppy, still a raw baby, cream in colour, has the basic construction for a promising future, very feminine in outline, balanced head, dark eyes. Unsettled on the move, may improve with age & ringcraft classes;

2 King’s Celticbridge Spring Magic, cream still developing, pretty head well balanced, dark points, level topline, well presented. Will watch their futures with interest.

PGB (3)

1 Miller’s Feorlig Starlite Skye, cream of good quality, well proportioned throughout, classic head, dark eye, good tight front, level topline, moved soundly, well presented;

2 King’s Celticbridge Stormy Waters, b/silver, good outline, nice feminine head, good length of body with good ribcage, level topline, coat in good condition & well presented;

3 Johnson’s Gallondean Moonbow over Skykim.

LB (2)

1 Samuel’s Glorfindel Risk of Reprisal, cream but ears could be darker. Compact shape, balanced head to good length of neck, level topline & good rearquarters, moved OK;

2 White’s Gumshoe It’s A Fair Cop, small black in proportion throughout, very feminine, good head, dark eye, well constructed assemblies. Not happy on the move. Excellent presentation.

OB (6,1)

Very strong class.

1 Miller’s Feolig Something Wicked, lovely quality bitch, has outstanding qualities, super head, dark eye, good length of body & level topline, good rear angulation, coat in first class condition & well presented. CC;

2 Grainger’s Ch Perrylands Savanna, quality bitch & a worthy ch, now a veteran but performed like a youngster, covered the ground with ease, well shaped head, dark eye, well constructed front & well muscled rearquarters, level topline on the move, well presented;

3 Breeze’s Salena Passion.
