Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston, Edinburgh Judge Mrs Z Thorn-Andrews DCC CH THE BLACK TOUCH OF MORNINGSKY AT GLORFINDEL (IMP DEU) (MRS G MARSHALL)
PD (1) 1 Harrison’s Knowlespring Jailhouse Roc for Trenson, really promising youngster, liked his head, dark expressive eyes, strong muzzle, elegant neck lines, OK in front, excellent bone, level back & super rear. Needs to fill out in chest of course but a good moving effortless gait & stunning outline. BP & RCC. JD (0). PGD (3,1a) 1 Pringle’s Tsuki Outlaw Star, correct size & height to length ratio, pleasing head, good neck. A bit over-crooked in front 2 Barrass’ Gallondean Moonlite Shadow, big boy who hasn’t quite the forechest & lay of shoulder he perhaps could have. Super neck, beautiful coat & condition, correct backline & his quarters are firm. LD (3) 1 McLean’s Glorfindel Rob Roy, lovely to go over, liked his head, eyes & expression, ideal earset & fringing, 2 Kendrick’s Keraro Rhapsody In Blue, similar for correct size & holds lovely outline in his profile gait. Just lacks a little in neck & needs a wee bit more rear angulation. I did think him a strong & very handsome dog; 3 MacQueen’s Lynaire Mr Darcey of Azrakhan. OD (4) Nice class. 1 Marshall’s Ch The Black Touch Of Morningsky at Glorfindel, sound & fit, just a slight dome between the ears, well placed ears, crested neck, excellent body & ribbing, well boned, OK in front, well made rear & good over croup, hard coat well put down, lovely outline & quality. CC & BOB; 2 Breeze’s Ch Gumshoe A Touch Of Frost by Salena, very elegant & shapely. A bit elbowy to go over. So hard & fit, real pleasure to feel, great drive from rear, excellent topline. A mite slab sided perhaps. Super coat & so well handled, good rear & side action; 3 Garland-Collins’ Ch Bhuidh Steamy Windows. PB (1) 1 Marshall’s Glorfindel Betty Boop, stunning puppy, so promising in every way, excellent pigment, lovely powerful foreface. Ears set a trifle low perhaps. Good neck flowing into high withers, well laid shoulders & good bone & feet, nice proportions of height to length, powerful hindquarters, well bent stifles & neat hocks, moved out with a long stride. Coat still in between but OK for her age. CC. JB (2) 1 Garland-Collins’ Bhuidh Motholeli, lovely to go over, good head & typical terrier expression, eyes set not too far apart, good neck & front, high withers, correct forechest, ribs carried well back, firm level back, slight slope over croup to well carried tail, excellent coat & body condition for her age. Moved well too but gave up in the challenge; 2 Viles’ Juniper Girl, really attractive head & expression, long strong foreface, dark expressive eyes, neat ears. Turns her feet out too much in front & is very high in rear which spoils her outline somewhat. Moves OK & a lovely hard coat coming. Needs time to settle into her angulation. PGB (4,1) 1 Turnbull’s Royal Wirenth, very pleasing to go over, lovely sound & well made girl. A little tense on the table but fine on the floor. Nice type & quality, excellent coat. Handler could make more of her; 2 Breeze’s Salena Secreet Passion, very elegant, long neck, very well muscled. Rather underweight & loses her topline in profile movement. Lovely head & quarters. A bit elbowy in front. So well handled & presented; 3 Read’s Feorlig Total Devotion for Heronsbridge. LB (5) Nice class. 1 Innes’ Knowlespring Keepsake with Traistbydand, lovely to go over & had the best front in the class, strong head, well placed eyes. Ears could be carried a bit higher. Excellent neck & body, level back, powerful rear, good double coat & so well presented, moved well. RCC; 2 MacQueen’s Azrakhan Capercaillie, had better ears than 1 but a very overcrooked front pegged her back. Nice length to height ratio & also in immaculate condition & coat. Excellent side gait. Too close coming towards though; 3 Evans’ Perfect Princess. OB (2) 1 Bryden’s Ch Acheo Bidey In, tends to run up in topline a little but I admired her lovely head, elegant neck, OK in front, excellent body & well boned, moved soundly; 2 Barrass’ Ch Gallondean Charlies Angel, temperament not to steady as 1. Preferred her topline. Moved OK, a bit close coming towards. Super coat & well carried tail. Will have better days.
