Usk Showground, Gwernesney, Near Usk, Mon Judge(s) Mr Peter Eva DCC STEVELYN A FOOL SUCH AS I WITH PURBELMO JW ShCM (MR P J & MRS B E KNIGHT) SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE SOUTH WALES 08 Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers PD (2) 1 Bott’s Whitevale Prince Of Thieves, very fit muscular youngster, good ratio, tail well on, reach of neck with head well set, level topline, moved out with drive. Coat yet to clear; 2 Noble’s Pippajam One And Only, nice soft coat in clean condition, head nicely proportioned. Not the topline of 1, but a very promising puppy. JD (2) 1 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kaos, good, fit, beautifully presented, mature for age, strong head, dark eye, level topline, backend with muscle, moved well, tail on correctly; 2 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo, charming chap, full of Wheaten personality, great head shape, eye etc. Not the topline or shoulder of 1, muscled. PGD (3,1a) 1 Connaughton’s Bacanti Beach Bunny, level topline, tail well set, soft unruly coat, well presented, very slow moving, but quite straight all ways. Upright in front; 2 House & Lamkin’s Glendowan Going For Gold, very fit, happy Wheaten, generously covered, strong head, dark eye. Not the movement of 1. LD (5) 1 Morrey’s Tobamorrey Ain’t He A Tyke, very nice, topline, reach of neck & good shoulders, tail set, head shape & form, good condition, masculine head, ears level with skull, profuse head covering, dark eye, moved all ways, liked this very male dog. RCC; 2 Barrett’s Loofahsa Teenage Dirt Bag, promising dog. Not developed yet as per 1. Smaller head, good condition coat, topline, tail, head set, eye, well handled; 3 Bristow’s Lilwauke Leroy Brown for Avard. OD (4) 1 Knight’s Stevelyn A fool Such As I with Purbelmo, powerful drive, muscle, condition to spare, topline. Found things like lay of shoulders, correct head shape mostly in the older dogs. The newer ones are upright in shoulder & dished muzzled, so this Fool I Am in spite of his own imperfections, was a good winner. CC, his 3rd; 2 Walkin’s Ch/Can Ch Jonaire Kataxin Vava Voom, not the shoulders of 1, which spoilt an otherwise good Wheaten. Moved OK, but not the flow. Coat presentation of the top order; 3 Munn’s Ch Snowmeadow Jazzy Kacob. PB (5,1) 1 Bott’s Whitevale Sunshine Straw, coat on the change but underneath good shoulders, backend muscled up, fit throughout, tail & head, teeth, bone, earset, topline, moved best, 10 months with extra maturity over the others. BP; 2 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action, very nice 8 months bitch, proportions spot on, topline level, moved well. Experienced handler. Could do very well; 3 Johnson’s Garsayno Gold Echo. JB (5) 1 Dowdy’s Denzilly Toot Sweet, typical Wheaten, held topline on the move, well handled, moved well, flat squarish skull, good bite, muscled & fit, has promise; 2 Dowdy’s Staracadia Luna Sea, best coat texture of the day, a rare treat, good topline, fit & muscled. Just not putting all in which is such a shame; 3 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kimberly. PGB (5,4) 1 Walkin’s Kellynack Blossom Hill, good balanced bitch, topline, shoulder even, nice square, flat skull, expression, moved well; 2 Francis’ Tinjoby Catcher of Dreams for Sawheaton, square outline, flat topline, tail well set, reasonable neck. Just a bit upright but moved well in spite of it; 3 Boak’s Bacanti Busy Bee. LB (5) 1 Noble’s Pippajam Gold Leaf, just a very nice Wheaten, better than nice, super, layback & lay in of shoulders, topline, powerful backend, moved true, with drive, very fit, straight over loin, coat & condition first class, beat some classy bitches here to win CC & BOB, head square, bite, eye, dark etc, I hope that she goes on winning as I liked her a lot; 2 Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Blonde Isabelle, beautifully presented, fit, muscled & a treat to handle. Did not excel in front, which for an active moving terrier is essential. A pity, because there is so much to like; 3 Dowdy’s Denzilly’s Lovely Jubbly. OB (5,4) 1 Howe’s Stevelyn My Way, another of a certain age which retains qualities that the younger dogs did not have. Super front, good shoulder, topline, reach of neck, proper flat longish head, dark eye placed correctly, no dishing here, something that I found far too often to my dismay throughout the entry. Muscles fit, moving well all ways, showing the way for the youngsters; 2 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly, big wining bitch, super coat, just a bit long which normally transmits into good profile movement. Well it did with her mum, but was unsettled & not putting in her best, such a shame; 3 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Wintryoark Miss Moneypenny for Chekina. PETER EVA |
