SOFT COATED DRIFFIELD 08 Judge: Mrs Iris Connaughton SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE DRIFFIELD 08 Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers I have one general comment to make that I feel is of importance. I was very surprised to find so many incorrect bites, mouths have deteriorated since I last judged. It really does need attention. MPD (0). PD (1) 1 Noble’s Pippajam One And Only, well balanced puppy, soft coat. Rather pale in colour. Moved steady keeping topline. JD (1) A. YD (2) 1 Webster’s Kazeen Too Bright to Bovver, handy size, tail set a bit low. Coat not a bad colour, large black nose, moved well when settled; 2 Glew’s Wentloog Mozambique, Irish type, lovely silky coat, well placed shoulders. Bit unsettled on the move. PGD (0). LD (2) 1 Morrey’s Tobamorrey Ain’t He A Tyke, good type of wheaten, well shaped head, dark eye, large black nose, strong neck running into well placed shoulders. Coat soft, would have liked more of it. Stood foursquare with head & tail up. CC; 2 Lowe’s Ballinvounig Irish Chance, not cooperating with handler. Soft coat, hindquarters well muscled, moved OK when settled. OD (8,1) 1 Walklin’s Ch/Can Ch Jonaire Kataxin Va Va Voom o’Kellynac, balanced dog, powerful head but not coarse, strong & level back, muscular hindquarters, moved out well. RCC; 2 Patterson’s Ch/Ir Ch Amberstar Paperback Writer, looking good for his 9 years & enjoying his outing, well balanced, square outline, moved with drive, head & tail up; 3 Barrett’s Loofasha Teenage Dirtbag. MPB (1) 1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvance Toppa Totty, just 6 months, really happy, enjoying her day out, nice shape & size, soft coat of good colour, correct bite, neat ears, moved well when she got her act together. BP. PB (6,1) 1 Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, well balanced, well sprung ribs, topline OK on the move, not over exaggerated at all. Preferred her hindquarters to 2; 2 Thoburn’s Emalot Jilly Jitterbug to Northridge, similar to 1 but coat paler in colour. Well made head & shoulders, topline & tailset OK, moved well when settled; 3 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action. JB (3) 1 Barrett’s Denzilly Truly Scrumptious at Saffini, lovely soft coat of a rich wheaten colour. Carrying a bit too much weight. Good shoulder placement, level topline, moved OK; 2 Switzer’s Starcadia Ocean Destiny, coat of good colour. Not moving so well but deserved her place for her correct size & make up; 3 Dowdy’s Denzilly Toot Sweet. YB (1) 1 Pascoe’s Middlebury Silver Lady, soft coat but it has not yet cleared & has a lot of grey in it. Feminine bitch, correct bite, moved OK. PGB (8) 1 Ewing’s Canicula The Elven Queen, very true to type, correct bite & head shape, neat ears, shoulders well placed, good spring of rib, muscular hindquarters, movement sound. RCC; 2 Oake’s Merriwell Magical Moondance, feminine, of nice size & colour. Tailset a little low. Preferred movement of 1; 3 Hammond & Evan’s Kellynack Blossom Hill. OB (7,1) 1 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly, well balanced bitch of substance, in coat of good colour & texture, strong head, straight front, level topline & tail set, moved with drive, head & tail up. Well deserved CC & BOB; 2 Patterson’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jodie Bo Jangles, not a lot to choose between these two litter sisters. Well balanced, same comments apply. Preferred movement of 1; 3 Hanna’s Ch Kinaelan Cuchylaene. IRIS CONNAUGHTON |
