Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Judge: Mr E W Darby An excellent entry. Dogs I found to be variable with many on the big side & too Bully in head. However temperaments were excellent & only the odd dodgy mouth. Bitches were super all through & I could easily have given out more CCs had I been allowed. For people who do not know my connection with the breed, MPD (7,1a) 1 Mills’ Millstaff Oh So Sharp, b/br, excellent head which is well developed for age, very good bone, good body for age, moved well, very promising pup, good coat & condition; 2 Karlsson’s Valglo Enzo of Jewelstaff, b/b, good head, neck & shoulders, good body for age. Needs to grow on. Moved well in front but needs to firm up behind. Good coat condition; 3 Dowse’s Rotherstaff Black Tie. PD (9,1) 1 Wells’ Longdrive Positive Action at Wellsstaffs, black, good head, good bone, legs & feet, moved really well, nice body, good tail. Just needs time to mature. Put down in good coat & well muscled for age; 2 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Back, pied, good head, body, legs & feet, good coat & condition. Preferred front movement of 1; 3 Langford’s Advocates Guvnor. JD (9) 1 Russell’s Mr Jack Obee Boy, outstanding black, excellent head, good neck, shoulders & front, good legs & feet, good coat, shown fit & excellent muscletone, moved well; 2 Small’s Merimna Mind Your Own, black, good head, front legs & feet, good body, very good coat & condition. Just preferred extra hardness of winner. Moved OK; 3 Dunning’s Shogunstaff The Highlander. ND (6) 1 Mr Jack Obee Boy; 2 V Enzo of J; 3 Corti’s Fergustaff My Mighty Mason PGD (29,6) This class varied in head type & a good few were over big. 1 McGrath’s Jajca Phoenix From The Flame, red fawn, good body, legs & feet, neat ears, presented in good hard condition, good not overdone head, moved well; 2 Streeter’s Vale of Bryn Rhys, b/w pied, good head, plenty of work in it, good body shape, good legs & feet, good hard condition, moved OK: 3 Page’s Benjerries Blusters. Not quite as mature as 1 but lovely type; 3 West’s Machusi Devon Loch. PB (14,1) 1 Robinson, Robinson & Hedges’ Leger Photo Finish fro Ramblix, black, super type that I like, very hard to fault for her age. Good head, neck, shoulders, good front, legs & feet, excellent body for age, correct shape, very well handled & presented to win, sound mover which won her RCC over Limit winner; 2 Hopkins’ Trufflestaff Monifa Kanica, similar to 1 in type & quality.
