Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcester, WR3 6NW Judge Mr G H Earle DCC BELLEROPHON BEVIN BOY (MR J & MR A COATS & GREENWOOD) An excellent entry of 213. Some exhibits lacked the bone & substance to be fit for purpose, which does not bode well for the breed. Many lacked the rib & depth of body to allow them to breathe adequately to struggle out of a paper bag. There was also far too much poor rear movement, a few having any discernable drive at all. MPD (10,1a) 1 Dowse’s Rotherstaff Black Tie, very pleasing b/br, proportioned head, dark eye, good big teeth, good front assembly with excellent bone, level topline, ribs & rearquarters developing well, moved well, has good potential. BPD; 2 Blacker & Taylor’s Crossguns Richie Rich, good b/br/w, strong skull, deep foreface, good mouth, strong short neck, well boned legs, neat feet, rearquarters developing well, moved well. Lost out to 1 on body development; 3 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Back. PD (6) 1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Back, well proportioned w/r with broad skull, dark eye, rather large ears, good teeth, well developed body, short coupling, level topline, rearquarters OK, moved & handled well; 2 Rogers’ Berrystock Devils Advocate, b/br, good head, dark eye, ears OK, good strong muzzle, short powerful neck, body developing well, moved well.
