CESKY JUDGE LEEDS 08 Cesky Terriers My comments will probably surprise some people. Some exhibits are moving away from that which should be the norm for our breed & many do not fall within the Standard. Heads are too short & not wedge shaped, lacking any strength in the foreface showing a lack of fill below the eyes. I was more than disappointed to see 50 percent had bad mouths mainly two incisors missing, this is something that has deteriorated since I last judged two years ago, & came mainly from the lower classes which does not air well for the future of the breed if they are bred from, it must be remembered that poor mouths may miss a generation but will raise its ugly head in the next. Another bad fault I witnessed for the first time in Ceskys was a very light eye. I have always loved the fact that Ceskys have such dark eyes, please do not let light eyes creep into the breed. A Cesky should be rectangular not square with very short legs & they should be elegant not heavy like a Sealyham. Bitches were far superior to dogs. My BB & RBB were excellent. PD (2) 1 Livingston’s Nordham Singing The Blues, light grey of 9 months, head of equal proportions, good ears in correct position, nice neck into good shoulders. Would like more of him & more masculine head showing more length. Moved well. RBD; 2 Jameson’s Vandell Taste Of Honey at Lynjame, dark grey, more masculine. Unable to assess this dog because of his unruly behaviour on the table & when moving, perhaps the hot weather conditions did not suit him. PGD (0). OD (5,3) 1 Gay’s Ridley Mirek Malsville, head could be longer. Used his ears, good neck & front. Topline could be better. Moved well, good mouth. BD; 2 Taylor’s Polede Lforluka, standing this dog has lots to like, good length of head, rectangular. Unfortunately not a born showman, when he moves loses his topline completely, perhaps if the pace was slowed down a bit he would retain his topline better. PB (5,3) 1 Thomson’s Oneva Eliska with Karensbrae, nice feminine head, good ears. Would like stronger foreface, needs to tighten up in elbows, incorrect topline at the moment, tends to walk up hill rather than a rise over the loin, movement poor lacks control of her rearend; 2 Forbes’ Oneva Erica with Karensbrae, litter sister to 1 & the same remarks apply. PGB (4) 1 Burrage’s Vandell Sweet Song, very feminine bitch, lovely head, correct shape & length, good neck into good shoulders, correct topline & tailset. Pressed hard for RBB but was not putting all in on the move so paid the penalty; 2 Tobijanski’s Janski Danuska, an attractive bitch, just a bit heavy all round. Good head proportions, nice ears, well muscled neck into good shoulders, topline OK, good rearend, moved with drive; 3 Livingston’s Rossau Day Dreamer. OB (6,2) 1 Tobijanski’s Janski Celtic Ceska, a lovely bitch, correct rectangular shape with rise over loin, quality head & ears, lovely neck, good shoulders, correct topline & tailset, good rear angulation, high hocks, good mouth, excellent mover, coat absolutely gleaming. BOB; 2 Fewing’s Komidion Jacara, a bitch who has improved with time, good type with correct topline, good head not overdone, good ears. Would like better front. Good neck & shoulders, moved well. RBB; 3 Burrage’s Talyot Camille. NORINA EVANS
