I thought it was quite depressing to find that this breed is deteriorating in both quality & movement. Perhaps this was not a representative entry, on paper 26 dogs seemed quite good for numbers. Poor hindquarters & hind movement really shocked me.

MPD (1)

1 Connell’s Sonorra Step Toe, 8 months old, quite a grown up looking puppy with excellent bone & body, hard wiry coat, rich tan, flat skull, dark eyes, well handled, steady showman. Hindquarters need to develop & movement to improve generally.

PD (0).

JD (1) A.

PGD (2)

1 Cassidy’s Boowire Wild Ginger, bit streamlined for me but nevertheless a comfortable class winner, crisp jacket, lean & fit, well carried ears, keen expression, good neckline. Needs more drive in movement;

2 Franklyn’s Jolliver Magical Wizzard, very plain & lacking in quality, very wide in skull, strong body, coat presentation & movement poor.

LD (3)

1 Poole’s Alokin A Touch Of Frost, slight dip in topline & coat, not at its best today, proper Welsh head & expression, low set hocks, well set & carried tail, moved OK, half brother to CC winner;

2 Dunne’s Dunnnellis Solid Silver, quite a good profile standing but movement let him down, firm body, good bone, masculine head, well handled;

3 J Magical Wizzard.

OD (4)

1 Poole’s Alokin All Told, played up a bit & handler had a job to get him settled on the move, excellent type & size, I liked his proportions & outline, good head, keen intelligent expression, excellent body, well muscled & sound, moved well when the fancy took him, happy showman. CC;

2 Hughes & Pearce’s Whittingford Warrior Bold of Damorner, size bigger than 1, looked the part standing & responded well to his handler, pleasing head, well carried ears, arched his neck, hard coat, good body & rib, just needs a bit more push & drive behind. RCC;

3 Halliwell’s Ch Wigmore Foxwhelp.

MPB (2)

1 Croxson’s Taicligh El Czar, 7 months quality puppy, owner said they were both new to the show scene, this certainly was not obvious as this puppy seemed to know by instruction what was required, feminine head, well proportioned, good coat & body, moved quite well for one so young;

2 Williams’ Saredon High Voltage, 7 months, in a very naughty mood & her handler had an impossible task, nice outline when posed but never settled to move properly, good coat, showed well when something took her interest.

PB (1)

1 Dorking’s Tantaffy Silken Sandpiper, 10 months, good make & shape, well coated with attractive head, intelligent expression, dark eyes, moved & showed quite well.

JB (3)

1 Snow’s Felstead Fair Titania, behaved like an angel compared with the rest of the class, showy & focused, pleasing head, keen eyes & expression, good bone, legs & feet, well presented coat, very fit, went well;

2 Averis’ Saredon Whats New Pussycat, quality youngster who just did not want to know in this noisy hall, good shape, well coated & conditioned, firm topline & body, flat skull, good head, sound enough on the move if a bit reluctant, brightened up a bit at the end;

3 Rundle’s Felstead Fair Delighted.

PGB (3,2)

1 Humphries’ Leadstaffs Morwenna, good silhouette standing, ear carriage could be better, good body & depth, crisp coat, well presented, failed in hind movement.

LB (8,1)

Biggest class of the day, decent quality.

1 Barney’s Romaunt Dotco Dot You Kay at Verrami, good quality & type, shapely body, well balanced, good head, true welsh expression, tail on top, low set hocks, strong body, in tune with her handler, well muscled quarters, moved well, close to RCC;

2 Woodward’s Cynon Queen Of Her Kingdom at Penhir, good outline standing, clean neck & shoulders, pleasing head, keen showy attitude, well fitting jacket, firm body, not as good in hindquarters or hind movement as 1;

3 Snow’s Felstead Francesca.

OB (3)

1 Bradley’s Aman GI Jane, exciting yearling in top form, sound as they come & well & truly up for anything today, great hindquarters & was certainly the best mover in this breed today, high spirited with her dark eyes sparkling with excitement, quality head, best of outlines, firm & fit, well presented coat, great showgirl, what a prospect. BP, CC & BOB;

2 Witmond’s Tiltser Teckno Babe, positively laid back & sedate by comparison, clean silhouette, good type, quality head, expressive eyes, good tailset & depth of body, splendid coat & condition, precise mover, sensible showgirl, in the challenge for RCC she found her right gear & perked up on the move. RCC;

3 L Morwenna.
