Norwich Terriers PD (5) 1 Downie & Tate’s Jaeva Catch Phrase, outmoved the rest, hasn’t got the body & substance of some of the others in the class & is still a touch leggy but is just 6 months & deserves consideration, good head & has strength of jaw. Needs to body up & get depth. Has a great set of legs, moved totally accurately front & rear & with great propulsion & drive with attitude on the round, changed my mind at the last minute & pulled him out to a well deserved first; 2 Crawley’s Ragus Your Best Shot, excellent dog, very good to go over. Needs to strengthen in topline a little. Substantial body with the best of fronts. Needs to firm a little going away, at that young age that he was careless with his ears a little which cost him; 3 Norrey’s Fleurnor Red Hot Poker. JD (3,2) 1 Kirkpatrick’s Tynallt Trouble Shooter, good for shape & general outlook. Not the precision of movement in the challenge of the eventual winners. PGD (2) 1 Kell’s Ragus Revelation, preferred his size & type to 2, OK on the move, seemed to feel the extreme heat; 2 Jones’ Rhythm And Blues at Zippor, glamorous & showy dog, decent head, good neck, pleasing outline & putting on a good show. Perhaps a touch too much leg. OD (2) Two fantastic specimen of the breed, amazed to see that 2 is still not a ch, my highlight of the day was deliberating between these two world class animals, pipping 2 to the post was 1 Crawley’s Ragus Rings True, every so often a star is born & few are blessed with the opportunity of seeing such animals at close quarters, this dog has to be as close to the Standard as they can possibly be, no dog is perfect & minor niggles are soon ignored when faced with one who has type, expression, balance, outline, soundness & showmanship, now that has to be the complete package, & there he stood, head to die for, width to skull, wedge shaped muzzle, correct ratios, small & oval eye, that indefinable expression, length to neck setting the head away from a short, deep compact body, the best of fronts that I have seen in this breed, quarters to match, stands on top of himself throws out an outline which is totally correct, his front coming towards me was faultless & driving round the ring feet ahead of the handler, head held high, just finished the perfect picture. BD, BOB & G2; 2 Chambers’ Rouletta Having A Good Thyme, just superb & so close up to 1 in most departments, fabulous masculine head, desired expression, short compact cobby body, excellent quarters & hind action, excellent side gait. Had to make a choice, just opted for the keener expression & slightly better front of 1. Pleased to have had the opportunity of meeting another world class dog who surely has been very unlucky to be in the same era as the outstanding eventual winner. RBD. PB (4) 1 Crawley’s Ragus Got The Look, gassy youngster who appealed greatly for her correct outline & good type, general soundness, good head, developing well. Quarters could be better let down perhaps but she moved so well & with such animation & attitude holding her shape on the move, could not deny her BB & BP; 2 Norrey’s Fleurnor Caillan Blaa, correct for body shape. Not the development of head & body as 1 but has time on her side; 3 Johnson’s Dorinor Lady Jayne of Trimbul. JB (3,2) 1 Kell’s Amicaro Ring A Roses, stood fourth in the previous class, still needs to settle, went better in this class than in previous. PGB (2) 1 Downies & Phillips’ Jaeva Sitting Pretty, very typy bitch with lots of attitude, extremely well presented, displaying an excellent side gait. Needs to hold more body & could be fractionally stronger in topline which cost her further consideration in the challenge; 2 Wilson’s Brickin Dawn Break, bitch of good size. A touch heavy & wider in front than 1. Sympathetically handled. OB (4,1) 1 Jones’ Ch Jaeva Jingle Bell Rock with Zippor, quality bitch who benefits from maturity, decent head, correct for make & shape, moderate angles, steady mover but lost to younger bitch in overall movement. RBB, very well handled; 2 Norrey’s Titanium Cristabel, lower to ground than 1 but not so detailed in head as 1, would prefer a touch more depth to stop. Excellent eye & very good side gait; 3 Wilson’s Elve Forest Witch. TAN NAGRECHA |
