BORDER JUDGE WINDSOR 11

Border Terriers
Since I last judged the breed I do feel movement is a concern. A lot of backends need to strengthen & capabilities to follow a horse were not always there. I was however extremely pleased with my main winners who were from the ‘top drawer’ & so very typical of the breed.

VD (2)

1 Tuffin’s Bel Hartswelin Little Tyke at Oatberry, pleasing head & expression, moved with drive & carried himself well, a very showy dog in super coat & condition;

2 Small’s Tulawyn Oberon at Tilmoray, nice veteran but was not as positive as 1 on the move.

MPD (3)

1 Dickinson’s Ragatam Newmarket at Badgerholme, good skull, dark eye & expression, well portioned & angulated, thick pelt & coat;

2 Southam’s Foxfactor Pipe Major at Southash, a nice type but preferred angulation of 1.

PD (8)

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Dr Walter, very promising youngster, broad skull & strong muzzle, dark eye, gave a superb outline both standing & on the move. Enough jacket & pelt, easily spanned & good size, will watch this young man with interest. BP & RCC;

2 Green’s Breckgreen Royal Mint, promising puppy, excellent topline, length & size. Not as settled as 1 when moving.

JD (10)

Not the soundest class I’ve ever judged.

1 Docwra’s Bandicoot Double Take, lovely head & expression, dark eye & small ears. Good length of neck, shoulders & topline, harsh coat, good pelt, tail nice length & carried well;

2 Bishop’s Withershins Victor, good head & skull, dark eye & nose, nice big teeth, preferred overall package of 1.

YD (6)

1 Stockley’s Foxfactor Pied Piper, very typy dog, strong head & expression, good bite & teeth. Enough length of neck, perhaps a little heavy in shoulders, well portioned, moved steadily & in excellent coat;

2 Wallace’s Hobholt Helmsman, nice head & skull, ears well set, looked good on the move but needs to settle in front.

ND (4)

1 Dickinson’s Ragatam Newmarket at Badgerholme;

2 Hales’ Hoathwood Habanero, correct size, good bone & nice weight, ample head, enough neck & length. Needs to settle a little in front.

PGD (9)

1 Matthews’ Rexlands Cock Robin, superb head & expression, ears well set, racy dog, lovely size, length & easily spanned. Good depth of chest & ribs carried well back, in good jacket;

2 Harrison’s Iacheslei Cantus, nice size dog, well portioned, moved true, very good coat & pelt.

LD (12)

1 Martin’s Bortino High Society, super dog who I thought fitted every part of the Standard. Not over done in anyway & handled sympathetically, got the best out the dog, gorgeous head, skull broad, ears small & well set. Strong muzzle, big teeth, lovely depth of chest, good size, harsh coat. Held topline both standing & on the move, excelled in movement, so very sound. CC;

2 Dean’s Digmoor Captain Rook by Tyrian, classy dog, strong muzzle, well proportioned throughout & moved well, should do well.

OD (7)

1 Johnson & Williams’ Ch Quarryway Dill, loved this dogs head & expression, nice length of neck & shoulders, well proportioned & correct angulation, excellent coat & condition. Moved freely but seemed to lose his sparkle in the challenge;

2 Irving’s Ch Dandyhow Beeline, quality dog & worthy Ch but didn’t put all in.

GCD (1)

1 Freeman’s Bolt Tail Jebba, very sound dog, pleasing head but would have preferred better expression. Good topline & tail well set.

VB (6)

1 Maskell’s Sextonmagic Bluebelle, lovely bitch in superb coat & condition, good neck & shoulders, well angulated, moved well;

2 Prevost & Hopkins’ Mulysa Miss Muffet, 12 years, so very sound for age, credit to the owner.

MPB (7)

1 Prior & Copas’ Plushcourt The Blue Beetle at Caehen, bl/t, good head & expression, very promising, nice dark eye, excellent jacket, covered the ground well;

2 Sansom’s Tufterslodge Tiz Only Me, promising puppy, well proportioned & angulated, excelled in front movement & good lay of shoulder, shown in good coat.

PB (7)

1 Clark’s Gameway Dragonfly, promising puppy, good topline & tail well set, lovely depth of chest & good size & length, turned out in excellent coat & condition;

2 South’s Tameila Penny Lane by Borderella, very good head & expression, well angulated puppy.

JB (9)

1 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Tansy, nice youngster, keen head & expression, straight & narrow front, topline good & tail well set. Nice depth of chest & correct size, in excellent coat;

2 Girling’s Benattivo Faberge, lovely youngster, correct head, dark eye & superb expression, well portioned & angulated, low hocks which she used to her advantage. A little short of coat.

YB (13)

1 May & Whisker’s Thistlestone Jenny Wren, pleasing head & expression, excellent bone, legs & feet, very true on the move both ways, shown in excellent condition;

2 Vintcent’s Bromsden Bairnkine Brogue, lovely head & eye. Well angulated & good depth of chest, not quite as positive as 1 in front.

NB (5)

1 B Bairnkine Brogue, typy head, dark & expressive eyes, bite OK, good body shape, moved well;

2 New’s Plushcourt Blue Reef, pleasing head & expression, enough length of neck & body.

PGB (15)

1 Roberts’ Badgerbeck Ballerina, very classy bitch, very typical head & expression, dark eye, superb neck & outline, shoulders well laid. Neat thick feet & pads, well angulated rear;

2 Docwra’s Bandicoot Jazz, loved her head, expression & eye, good depth of chest, shown in correct coat with lovely thick pelt, moved true both ways.

LB (16)

1 Guvercin’s Achnagairn Code Name Glebeheath, turned out in good coat & condition, excellent pelt, correct head & expression, nice topline, good length of rib & strong loins, tail well set;

2 Garcia-Sierra’s Ottaswell Obsession, pleasing head & expression, ample neck, good level topline.

OB (12)

1 Clark’s Ch Southash Blue Betty Boo Gameway, lovely bitch, keen head & expression with dark eye, strong muzzle & big teeth, lovely length of neck & good lay of shoulder, superb topline & in excellent jacket, extremely sound on the move. CC;

2 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Fantacy, typical head shape excellent topline both standing & on the move good depth & ample neck. Shown & presented well. RCC.

GCB (2)

1 Aldous’ Othamcourt Snow Bunting at Twigglestone, very typical head & expression, moved well; 2 Freeman’s Borderella Elsa, active for age, presented in good condition.
