BORDER JUDGE WINDSOR 10

Border Terriers

I thought the standard overall was very good & I found it very encouraging to find some really nice youngsters coming up through the ranks. I had to make very tough decisions in some classes & many good dogs went cardless but I thoroughly enjoyed my day & was pleased with my winners.

MPD (5,1a)

1 Wallace’s Hobholt Helmsman, very stylish & confident, really caught my eye when entered the ring, pleasing head & expression, super teeth, correctly angulated shoulder, neat front, firm pasterns & small neat feet, strong loin, good hind angulation used with good effect on move. BP;

2 Girling’s Benattivo Stitch In Time, very nice type, liked a lot, pleasing head & expression, neat ears & dark eye. Lacked depth of coat making him look bare. Moved well;

3 Horner’s Stineval Maraschino.

PD (5,2)

1 Matthews’ Rexlands Cock Robin, nice size in thick tweedie coat & pelt, liked profile, strong loin, good legs & feet, once settled moved well, liked overall type;

2 Spencer’s Cobstoneway River Magic, lovely type with super head & expression, nicely angulated & good topline. Hope doesn’t grow on; 3 Johnson’s Karison Kumphrey.

JD (7,2)

1 McPherson’s Brumberhill Blue Tempest, stood away in class, beautifully made with excellent shoulders, ribbed well back & easily spanned, pleasing head with huge teeth & good bite, lovely profile movement, driving off well angulated hindquarters. Looked as though was in underclothes but was surprised at good texture of coat coming through. Has bright future before him. RCC;

2 Webb’s Hollowmoor Fanfare, liked for size, nicely made with good legs & feet, presented in good order, moved OK; 3 Hollingsbee’s Xapex Santiago at Otterwood.

YD (3,1)

1 Ramus’ Onthill Super Trouper, very typy, full thick coat. Bit past its best but still hard & wiry. Loved head & expression, nice bone, firm pasterns & feet, moved well;

2 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, liked this one too & could easily change places, in good order, good legs & feet, pleasing head & neat ears, moved OK. Not as positive in front as 1.

ND (5,1)

1 H Helmsman;

2 R Cock Robin;

3 Channer’s Mingrovia Flintstone Chief at Rubyfin.

PGD (8)

1 Sharp’s Radnorvalley Goshawk of Rhozzum, easily spanned, nice size, well presented in super coat & pelt, big teeth set in strong jaw, looked good in profile movement retaining good topline on move;

3 Pateman’s Lessien Dinx Boy Oberon.

LD (13,2)

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Beeline, handy size to go over & easy to span, loved front assembly, bone, firm pasterns & small neat feet, pleasing head & expression with neat ears, well presented in thick coat & pelt, moved well. Seemed a bit dour at times in the heat as did many of the others;m

2 Hunt’s Ethlencoral Pip of Ottaswell, liked this one too, lovely head & expression with dark eye & lovely big teeth, looked good in profile with good topline & tailset, moved well, in good order;
