BORDER SKC MAY 23 Judge: Mr F Kane BORDER JUDGE SKC MAY 23 MPD (2) 1. Johnson’s Achnagairn Line of Duty. 7 months, I would prefer less of him but he has a beautiful head, good pelt and coming into good coat, a little heavy in bone. 2. Jordan-Smith’s Jordith Roll Up and Shine. 7 months, better size but nowhere near as forward and needs to develop in head, good neck, ribcage extends well back, can tighten up and fill out generally. 1. Anderson’s Tyneotter Bolt From The Blue. 9 months blue/tan with excellent coat and pelt, good neck and shoulder and narrow front, foreface a little long, sound, tail carriage can settle. 2. Hardman/Brandwood’s Bonosue Lee Van Cleef at Spanwise. 11 months, grizzle, could have won this class, I liked his type and his head but he was not happy in the ring today. 3. Jordan-Smith’s Jordith Roll Up and Shine. 1. Mackenzie’s Whittonglebe Poacher. 18 months, stood away here, flowing outline from good neck and shoulder, good skull and foreface, ears could be smaller, I thought him a lovely type throughout and he went well, in superb coat, RDCC. 2. Nicol’s Upend Country Lad at Jacraila. 17 months with good outline, appealed in head, bone and feet, needs more rear angulation and not the movement or balance of the winner. 3. Adams’ Ettervern Ace Of Wands. 1. Sutton’s Pipruda Dark Rum at Beckholm JW. 21 months, I liked his size, balance and outline and his profile movement and carriage, I would prefer more angulation in front which shows in his front action, good head and eye and in excellent coat. 2. Horner’s Stineval Lambert JW. Looked my winner standing with his flowing outline and excellent coat, however not showing well after an incident prior to entering the ring, lovely head, unlucky today. 3. Lothian’s Lairehope Bijou. 1. Stevens’ Cobstoneway Stand By Me JW. Almost 2 years old, free striding with good carriage and well angulated at both ends, flowing outline, good skull but could have a little more strength in front of the eyes, ready for a new coat, quality dog. 2. Tait’s Elemcella Bartender. 2 years old in super coat and condition, good proportions, good skull and eye, not the ground covering action of the winner. 3. Walker’s Smufski Jingle Bells. 1. Gwilliam’s Fisherbloom Don’t Stop Me Now at Louajak. 3 year old grizzle I liked a lot, spannable and good for bone and ribbing, thick pelt and hard jacket, good head type, great carriage, won this well. 2. Dixon’s Thornheswin Huntsman. 3 year old blue and tan, I liked his type, shown in fit working condition, very good coat, good headpiece, sound mover but tail carriage could be better. 3. Sutton’s Bordergold Rudolph at Beckholm. 1. Gilpin’s Ch.Otterbobs Tolson. 3 year old in great form, he is an unexaggerated, balanced Border full of type throughout, very good in his front action, spannable with ribs carried well back, full of type in head, DCC & BOB. 2. Inness’ Cedarhill Dish Of The Day for Dexlin. 5 year old quality dog shown in firm condition and excellent coat, has type, looked a real working terrier. 3. Kelly’s Brumberhill Breitling. 1. Jordan-Smith’s Glebeheath Smash N’ Grab at Jordith. 9 years, very good proportions, strong masculine head, going soundly, a little short of coat. 2. Kelly’s Brumberhill Breitling. From Open Class, taller dog who is a little upright at both ends, hard coat. SBD 1(0) 1. Grassie’s Ravenside Run To Me at Sandyfaulds. 22 months, reserve in yearling class, grizzle who is a little long in foreface, spannable and sound, tail set and carriage could be better. MPB 7(0) Good class for quality. 1. Gilpin’s Otterbobs Beatrix. 8 months with good outline, built on flowing lines with correct proportions, best mover in the class, well angulated, particularly good quarters, feminine head which needs time to finish. 2. Horner/Allen’s Stineval Sasha. 7 months, appealed in head and proportions, shown in good coat, not the front angulation of winner. 3. McCluskey/Young’s Chadbrook Astrid. Two top bitches in a close decision. 1. Nettle’s Onziemehurst Milly Earhart. Appealed for her flowing lines and outline, shown in good coat, her forehand is excellent resulting in scopey, accurate movement, quality head, well ribbed and spannable, top size for me but lovely carriage and movement, BP. 2. Hall’s Borderrush Rambutan. 10 months, I preferred her size and she is well balanced and full of breed type, ultra sound, in a close decision I just preferred neck and shoulder of winner, close up. 3. Dixon’s Otterpaws The Thunder Rolls. 1. Hall’s Borderrush Rambutan. Repeat. 2. Adams/Reynolds’ Ettervern The Empress. 14 months red, looks a real working terrier with her excellent pelt and coat, balanced throughout, feminine head but couldn’t match the winner here, sound mover. 3. Milton’s Ragatam Caol Ila at Baillieswells. 1 Watson/Kenna’s Cynetkoy’s Penny Lane. Top sized bitch but built on lovely lines, in excellent coat, full of quality throughout, she moves soundly but I feel her handler could get more out of her on the move. 2. Dixon’s Thornheswin Northern Lass. 20 months old, liked her size and her coat and pelt are excellent, good head but would prefer darker eyes, good front extension but could use her hocks more firmly. 3. Gwilliam’s Ragatam Isla at Louajak. 1. Peacock’s Ragatam Brodie. 15 months, looked a picture standing and stood out for me in this class, her outline, angulation, rib and coat all pleased me, could have a stronger foreface, very good movement. 2. Pitt’s Foxwater Miss Adventure. I liked her size, proportions, spannability and good jacket, good movement and top-line. 3 Alexander’s Glenbucket Oor Wee Dottie. 1. Anderson’s Tyneotter Summer Solstice. Appealed for her outline and balance, good jacket, well constructed at both ends but her feet could be stronger, good head shape. 2. Wakefield’s Remony Fallen Embers. 2 year old who is a very typy bitch in head, coat, ribbing with better feet than the winner, her tail set is a little low and this detracts from her outline. 3. Jordan-Smith’s Jordith Sapphire Storm. Excellent class. 1. Fawcett’s Carrock Curiosity JW. Not a flashy bitch but I loved her balance, beautiful head and eye, correct ribcage and flowing outline, shown in excellent coat, her front movement was excellent - absolutely true, her handler could get more out of her but she is a lovely quality Border, BCC. 2. Tanton-Joy’s Orangebox A New Hope at Itsaso. Very showy 3 year old, excellent movement, strong head, in good coat, excellent coat and presentation, I preferred balance of winner, RBCC. 3. Jordan-Smith’s Ch. Ravenside Marsha at Jordith JW. 1. Watson/Kenna’s Ger/NL Ch. Cynetkoy Pillow Talk. 7 year old, a lovely bitch who was a touch heavy in bone but great type in head, ribbing and coat, excellent movement, carried herself, well, BV. 2. Dixon’s Otterpaws Firebird ShCM. 8 year old, flowing outline from good neck and shoulders, feminine head with good eye, not moving at her best today. SBB 8(0) 1. Nettle’s Onziemehurst Milly Earhart. Repeat. BSpB. 2. Pitt’s Dejurra Blue Moon. Yearling bitch, blue/tan who is ultra sound, a teenager in the body, good coat, ears could be neater. 1. Hall’s Otterwood Aura at Borderrush. Blue/tan, VHC in open, a good mover with well proportioned outline and correct bone and ribbing, top-line was soft on the day.
