BORDER JUDGE SKC 18

Firstly thank you all for such a nice entry. Secondly, thank you to a great steward who single handedly ran the ring for me. There were some very nice Borders on view, all mouths were good.

MPD

1 Lairehope Bear Bejewelled NAF. A very nice puppy, a little shy but there was a lot of noise all around, very nice head for one so young, enough bone, good bite, nice jacket, moved well.

2 Glenbucket Highland Reel. Taller than one, nice head, good front, good length of body, moved well both ways, just preferred the size of one, but should have a good future.

PD

1 Ridgebow Two Hoots. A very nice puppy, good size, nice head with strong jaw, dark eye, good bone with straight front correct topline, moved vey well lost out for best puppy as his coat was on the blow, but still good enough for best puppy dog.

2 Twigglestone Steps To Heven. No jacket on this one today, lovely type, good bite, big teeth, good front, correct topline, moved out well both ways.

JD

1 Brackenfell Rock The Boat For Vandamere. Otter head, good big teeth, nice ears, lovely feet, in great coat, spanned easily, nice tail, moved well both ways.

2 Otterpaws Mountain High. Very similar to one, but with less jacket, correct bone, spanned with good pelt, another that moved well.

3 Brackenfell Born To Be Alive.

YD

1 Bowencloud Busy Bee JW. Very nice headed dog, nice length of neck, good top line tail correct, in A1 jacket, moved well both ways, liked him a lot.

2 Tojamatt Rhythm N'Blues At Raedwulf. Nice dog, workmanlike, not the head of one, good bone, straight front, nice neck leading to correct shoulders, correct bend in stifles, strong in movement.

3 Remony For A'That.

PGD

1 Lynsett Lewis. B/t dog, very nice dog, nice head needs more facial hair to improve it, enough bone and straight front, moved with drive, I feel he can do more winning.

2 Glenbucket Whiskey Mac. L/g dog, lovely otter head, taller dog than one, good eye, strong jaw, nice body moved well both ways, will do well in the future.

3 Tyneaster Undercover Agent For Vandamere JW.

LD

1 Howthwaite In Voice. A little up on leg this one, but can't be denied his placings, very nice type, he could work all day, cracking head, good front and bone, nice and narrow front, good neck leading into correct shoulders, very nice jacket moved well both ways.

2 Lairehope Highland Chief Of Tweedburn. Standard size dog, but with similar remarks as one, good bone correct top line, nice coat, strong backend, moved with drive.

3 Glenbucket Highland Lad.

OD

1Howthwait Grainsgill. A very nice class, first and second like peas in a pod, just love everything about first, in brilliant coat and condition, could run all day, stunning otter type head, good bite with big strong teeth, nice straight front with nice bone nice feet, nice length of neck leading into correct shoulder that helps him move so well, in A1 jacket, spanned so easily, good pelt, moved so well, no hesitation in giving him CC and Best of Breed, told later it was his second, the third can't be far away.

2 Ch/Ger Ch Brackenfell Bok To Bach JW WW17. I can see why this dog is the breed record holder so similar to one so remarks are more or less the same, such a stylish dog so only one first place so nick picking, but one the breed should be very proud of, RCC.

3 Carrock Carnegie.

VD

1 Ch Lairehope Lord Of The Glen At Tweedburn. Well what can I say, nearly nine years old and can show a few youngsters how to move, he still has it, I gave him his first CC from Junior. I loved him then, I still love him now, just a little grey around the edges, like us all, put down to perfection, thank you for letting me go over him again. Best Veteran.

2 Beaconpike Red Saturn. 8 years old, very nice dog, another who doesn't look his age, very workmanlike. I have to say this exhibitors dogs/bitches under me today all were so fit, in A1 condition, a credit to this gentleman, thank you.

3 Minx Diamond.

MPB

1 Glenbucket Highland Queen. First and second very similar puppies, both need to tighten in front, but liked them both, l/g, nice feminine head, nice bone, lovely jacket and pelt, easily spanned, well handled. BP.

2 Crazy Train And I Love Her. Lovely name, made me smile, as I said above, very similar to one, only little smaller, liked her a lot, should have a lot of fun with them.

3 Lynsett Sansa.
PB

1 Esyntona Codeword Vanamere. Res in MP, stood alone in this class, a puppy that needs to improve, she has the makings of a nice bitch, but today her coat was very soft and not well prepared, but when she has all this, she has the makings of a nice one.

JB

1 Ravenside Calima. Well, what can I say, when she came into the ring I thought wow, a cracking blue and tan with correct colour, she screams Border Terrier, from her nose to her tail this is a special bitch. Gorgeous head, mouth perfect, strong jaw, straight narrow front with good bone, enough length of neck lovely shoulders, nice body easily spanned, harsh jacket, good pelt, she just floated around the ring with ease. I was honoured to give her her first CC, and I hope she has many more.

2 Carrickfarm Mhairi. Light grizzle very nice bitch unlucky to come up against one today, just needs to mature a wee bit more, I liked her a lot but has what it takes to do well.

3 Picer Beth Chatto.

YB

1 Glebeheath Beau Belle. This is a very nice bitch have judged before and done well under me, very nice border head, strong in jaw, good narrow front, good in body, Jacket in first class order, nice back end that she used when moving, looks like she would work all day.

2 Stineval Kordier JW. Liked this bitch since seeing her as a puppy and still do, just not enough jacket today super, head lovely ears, dark eye, moved with drive think she will do well.

3 Merumhor Blue Jasmine.

PGB

1 Ridgebow Pendle Witch. B/t, another super bitch, lovely head and ears, good bone, narrow front nice feet, correct topline and tail, in harsh jacket good pelt, moved with drive from good backend. RCC.

2 Foxfactor Fancy Free. Another very nice bitch, super otter head, very good front, coat in perfect condition, harsh jacket. good pelt, correct bend in stifle. moved very well.

3 Beaconpike Venus.

LB

1 Remony Frosted Ivy JW ShCM. Cracking bitch, one that was in perfect jacket, as always by this breeder, lovely bitch, super in head, eyes, ears and mouth, good bone, moved with drive, another that should do well.

2 Howthwaite Gold Dust. B/t, similar in make and shape to one, similar remarks as above feminine head, lovely dark eyes, in good harsh jacket, moved very well, a very nice bitch.

3 Beaconpike Venus.

OB

1 Ch Otterbobs Xolana. Super fit bitch, lovely otter type head, neat in ears, gun barrel front enough bone, so easily spanned, harsh jacket, lovely body, correct in backend, good tail, moved with drive. I say if they are made right they will move right, liked her a lot.

2 Ch Chorbeck Gossip Girl At Blackmine JW. Bigger type than one, but a quality bitch, strong but feminine head, another in good jacket, spanned easily with good pelt, moved with ease.

3 Ir Ch Ploughdown Paloma.

VB

1 Beaconpike In A Storm. Very workmanlike type bitch and still in perfect condition for 8 years old, could still be in open classes, very fit, so feminine, but strong, liked her type.

2 Beaconpike Night Sky At Brackenfell. So very similar to one, for me moved that little bit stronger, but a nice bitch.

3 Achnagairn Wild Card.
