Border Terriers

One or two dogs needed a wee tidy up. Coats were not too bad but movement still needs attention.

1 Gregory’s Digmoor Gamblers Fool at Visrie, alone but a lot to like about this youngster, racy bodylines, good mouth, front & shoulders, moved well, good jacket.

PD (2)

1 Horner’s Stineval Maraschino, smart puppy, good head, strong muzzle, racy bodylines, easily spanned, thick pelt, harsh jacket;

2 Jackman’s Tersets Blue Flame, smart puppy, Rather excited. Good mouth, nice for size, racy bodylines. Just needs more handling on the table.

1 Lothian’s Glenbucket Rooney, up to size, nice type of Border, pleasing head, good mouth, dark eye, keen expression, moved soundly, in full harsh coat.

YD (4,1)

1 Higham’s Comberdown Jailbreak to Vandamere, smart racy dog, good strong head, dark eye, keen expression, straight in forequarters, nice length of back, racy hindquarters, good harsh & dense coat, moved & showed to perfection. CC;

2 Golding’s Ashbrae Fellman at Beaconpike, slightly larger type than 1 but lots to like about him. Nice otter type head, good mouth & strong jaw, good wiry double coat, moved well;

3 Price’s Hollowpoint Smoke.

1 Anderson’s The Dark Crystal, nice type of Border, in good condition, pleasing head, strong jaw, dark eye, keen expression, nice for size, good harsh double coat, moved well, easily spanned;

2 Houston’s Earthwise Wolfbane, handy size grizzle/t, pleasing head, neat ears, good harsh coat & thick pelt, well set on tail, moved well;

3 Gow’s Argyll Drummer.

1 Hingley’s Porters Pride, up to size, good workmanlike Border, strong head, good mouth, strong jaw, keen expression, harsh double coat & thick pelt, moved well;

2 Sugar’s Foxcraig Jester, nice size of working type Border, nice otter type head, strong jaw, good length of back, level topline, well set on tail, good coat & pelt, moved well;

3 Wheatley’s Remony Reivers Moll at Loirston.

OD (7,1)

1 Davis’ Ch Hesslemere Hi Karate, good masculine head, nice reach of neck leading into clean shoulders, nice length of back, strong loin, well set on thick tail, good rear angulation, moved positively round the ring. RCC;

2 Irving’s Dandyhow Beeline, smart Border, otter like head, good mouth, excellent coat & pelt. Thought 1 moved more positive round the ring;

3 Culley’s Earthwise Deuteronomy.

MPB (3)

1 Milton’s An Cnoc of Baillieswells, smart puppy, nicely proportioned, feminine head, moved reasonably well for one so young;

2 Hamilton’s Gameway Take A Bow, slightly bigger than 1. Pleasing head, dark eye, keen expression, nice bodylines. Two nice puppies.

PB (8,2)

1 Barrett’s Howthwaite In Violet, smart bl/t, pleasing head, dark eye, keen expression, nice length of neck leading into clean shoulders, level topline kept on the move, nice tailset, easily spanned, moved well. BP:

2 Horner’s Stineval Santina, smaller than 1, feminine head, nice racy body lines. A little loose in front movement. Thick coat & pelt;

3 Lorraine’s Seymours Bubble and Squeak for Raleniro.

1 Johnston’s Joncroft Diawl Bach, smart bitch, liked her for type, pleasing head, strong jaw, keen expression, neat earset, racy body lines, easy to span, moved well;

2 Alexander’s Glenbucket Lady Charlotte, otter like head, dark eye, keen expression, nicely balanced, good coat & pelt, easy to span;

3 Fraser’s Achnagairn Wild Card.

YB 94)

1 Houston’s Hollowpoint New Beginning for Earthwise, smart bl/t, nice size, typical feminine otter head, keen expression, correct mouth, good length of body, strong coat & loose pelt;

2 Armstrong’s Carrickfarm Mike, grizzle, smaller than 1, pleasing head, neat earset, narrow body, harsh coat & loose pelt;

3 A Wild Card.

NB (5)

1 Johnston’s Joncroft Never Unprepared, litter sister to 1 in JB, very similar type, pleasing head, keen expression, neat ears, strong double coat, moved & showed well;

2 A Cnoc of Baillieswells;

3 G Take A Bow.

PGB (8,1)

1 Cuthbertson’s Ashbrae Fern, grizzle, nice size, pleasing head, strong jaw & teeth, well set ears, nice length of body, harsh coat, loose pelt, well set on thick tail, moved soundly round the ring;

2 Peacock’s Ragatam Jewel, nicely balanced, feminine head, neat ears, dark eye, keen expression, good harsh coat, moved & showed well. These two could easily change places another time;

3 Fraser’s Achnagairn Smart Card.

LB (12,3)

1 Sugar’s Foxcraig Magic, lots to like about this bitch, lovely otter like head, neat ears, strong muzzle, large teeth, well put together body, good coat & pelt, moved & showed well, fit to do a good day’s work or more;

2 Fraser & Butler’s Wagtail Lass via Ycart, smart showy bitch in good condition, excellent double coat, loose pelt, pleasing head, moved & showed well;

3 Fryer’s Irton Polka. Three nice bitches who could easily change places another time.

OB (8,2)

1 Gregory’s Remony Barley Twist, liked this one when I first saw her as a puppy & not disappointed when going over her here. Lovely feminine head, dark eye, keen expression, neat ears, nice reach of neck, well laid shoulders, straight front, correct amount of bone, excellent strong double coat, moved & showed well. CC;

2 Fraser & Butler’s Ch Blue Tutu via Ycart, a favourite of mine, smart bl/t, in excellent condition, harsh double coat, straight front, good topline & well set on thick tail, moved & showed well. RCC;

3 Davis’ Hesslemere Miss Lemon.
