Border Terriers

VD (1)

1 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, good size with a very workmanlike appearance. Pleasing head & eye, straight front standing on good legs & feet, firm topline & a well set on tail. Good coat & pelt, very sound on the move with pleasing reach & drive.

MPD (3)

1 Reynold & Marston-Pollock’s Etterbern Sloane Ranger, promising young man who presents a very typical appearance. Good head shape with a keen expression, very clean over the neck & shoulders, pleasing body shape & well developed hindquarters. Moved soundly both fore & aft. BPD;

2 Goddard’s Awbrooksky Enforcer, pleasing sort but not as forward as the winner on the day. Well balanced & of overall good make & shape. Typical in head with a good dark eye, pleasing front assembly & the best of quarters. Once he got into his stride moved well;

3 Ednie’s Cedarhill Authorisation.

PD (1)

1 Channer’s Benattivo Gun Fire at Rubyfin, well made youngster, good size & of pleasing conformation throughout. Best of heads with a good eye & neat ears. Good reach of neck set in well placed shoulders, excellent coat & pelt, racy hindquarters & sound on the move.

JD (6)

McPherson’s Brumberhill Back T’Future, beautifully made, stunning outline & built on clean & flowing lines but still has that appearance of a ‘working terrier’ that the Standard asks for. Good head, eye & expression, one of the best fronts on the day, firm topline that he holds on the move & strong well muscled quarters. Put down in excellent jacket & condition, soundest of movers. CC & BOB;

2 Baxter’s Mysulan Going Solo, another very promising youngster but not quite as mature as the winner but has time on his side. Pleasing head with good strength of muzzle, excellent legs & feet, good body shape & racy hindquarters. Very positive on the move with good reach & drive;

3 Hall & Ellis’s Brackenfell Ragamuffin.

YD (2,1a)

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Galloping Gourmet, liked the make & shape of this young man, very well balanced & another who presents a very typical outlook. Best of heads with a keen alert expression. Very clean over the neck & shoulders, straight front, pleasing topline & tailset & well developed quarters. Good coat & pelt, moved soundly. RCC.

PGD (4)

1 Sharp’s Rhozzum Gwilym, dog you need to get your hands on to appreciate his many virtues. Good size & definitely looks like he could do a days’ work. Pleasing head shape with a very typical expression, scores in neck & shoulders, firm body & best of hindquarters. So sound on the move with excellent side gait;

2 Ramus’ Onthill Aramis, pleasing sort of overall good make & shape & nicely balanced throughout. Good head & eye, well made front assembly, firm topline, good tail shape & nicely rounded quarters. Moved out well but not as positive in front movement as the winner;

3 Anscombe’s Orangebox Dark Energy.

LD (8)

1 Lorraine & Thomas’ Raleniro Second Time Around, a very sound honest dog of good size & very pleasing to go over. Best of heads with a good dark eye & keen expression, neat ears, good legs & feet, thick pelt, pleasing tail & strong hindquarters. Soundest of movers with good reach & drive;

2 Jackson’s Clipstone Starshine, another who appealed greatly for his overall balance & breed type. Very well made throughout & presented in tip top condition. Good head shape, strong muzzle, muscular neck set in well placed shoulders, firm body with good strength of loin. Very positive on the move;

3 Waller’s Question Master.

OD (8,2)

1 Hall & Ellis’ Ch Brackenfall Bok To Bach, very worthy champion who I did well as a youngster. Pleasing make & shape & presented in hard muscular condition. Good head & eye, very clean over the neck & shoulders, good body shape with a pleasing topline & tailset. Moved well but felt on the day he was not as positive in front action as the top winners;

2 Hunt’s Ch Ottaswell Palamedes, another very good one who is so well built & has a very ‘workmanlike’ appearance. Pleasing head & expression, excellent strength of underjaw, good straight front standing on the best of legs & feet, strong firm body, good thick pelt & well made quarters. Moved soundly;

3 Westland’s Renaissance Rhododendron.

VB (4)

1 Jackson’s Ch.Cobstoneway Moon River at Clipstone, quality bitch who I seriously considered for top honours on the day. Beautifully balanced throughout, best of heads with a lovely eye & alert expression, scores in neck & shoulders, firm topline that she holds on the move, good tail shape & excellent strength of hindquarters. Very positive on the move;

2 Baxter’s Am/Can/Int Ch Sulan Fancy That, lovely size of bitch of good type & is very well made throughout. Pleasing head & eye, excellent front assembly, easily spanned, good body shape, well rounded quarters with good width of second thigh. Sound mover with good reach & drive;

3 Small’s Badgerbeck Tree Pipit at Tilmoray.

MPB (5)

1 Knight & Jacob’s Glamike You’re So Fine for Gemswin, very promising young lady who had such attitude & confidence for her age. Lovely head with a very typical outlook, a dark eye & the best of expressions. Good straight front, pleasing legs & feet, best of tails & well developed quarters. Moved soundly once she got into her stride;

2 Halbert’s Oxcroft Ragtrade, very much a baby & not as forward as the winner on the day. Pleasing head shape with good strength. Best of fronts with an excellent layback of shoulder that was lacking in many. Good topline & tailset, well made hindquarters & sound on the move;

A sound & positive mover. BP.

Lovely head & expression with good strength of muzzle, excellent front assembly, firm body, good tail shape & lovely racy hindquarters with good width & strength. Moved soundly. RCC;

2 Gilpin’s Charlie’s Copycat via Otterbobs, another very good one & could not be denied her place today although been a little between coats. Lovely size & balance & another with a very workmanlike appearance. Best of heads with a good dark eye & keen expression, excellent body shape & strong quarters. Sound on the move;

3 Hudson’s Shiftyfox Fairydust of Glenoak.

YB (4)

1 Theobald’s Bimandi’s Bananarama, unplaced in the very competitive junior class but well deserved her win here. Good overall make & shape, pleasing size & well boned but still has a very feminine outlook. Pleasing head & expression, firm body & well made hindquarters. A very positive mover;

2 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Domina Candesco, very pleasing sort of good type & well made throughout. Balanced head with a good dark eye, best of legs & feet, strong well muscled body & pleasing quarters. Moved well but not quite the enthusiasm of the winner on the day;

3 South’s Imperterrito Agenda by Borderella.

What a class, such strength in depth with some really lovely bitches missing out on the day, I was spoilt for choice.

1 Robert’s Smalesmouth Skylark, she took my eye as soon as she entered the ring for her type, outline & ring presence & I was not disappointed when going over her, a quality bitch. Good head, eye & expression, excellent front assembly standing on super legs & feet. Lovely body shape with the best of quarters. Her movement was a joy to watch, one of the soundest on the day. CC;

2 Mann & McFarlane’s Lynsett Bold Spirit, another lovely bitch of good size & so well balanced throughout & pushed hard for top honours. Lovely head with a very typical appearance & good expression, scores in neck & shoulders, firm body with the best of toplines & tailsets. Put down in excellent coat & another sound & positive mover;

Best of heads with good strength of muzzle, straightest of fronts, well padded feet, firm muscular body that was easily spanned & lovely racy quarters. Excellent coat & pelt, sound on the move;

2 Roslin-William’s Mansergh Plusfours, another quality bitch who is so beautifully put together & flows from head to tail on very clean lines. Balanced head with a very typical outlook & the keenest of expressions. Excellent front assembly as one would expect from this kennel, good body shape & the best of hindquarters.
