BORDER JUDGE PAIGNTON 09

Border Terriers

A lovely entry. Some quality exhibits to go over in both dogs & bitches & I was pleased with my winners. Temperament was excellent throughout. Such a shame we couldn’t be outdoors.

MPD (5)

1 Hollingsbee’s Xapex Santiago at Otterwood, confident, outgoing bl/t pup, good size, masculine head, in good coat with thick pelt, well set on carroty tail. Movement needs to settle but just a baby;

2 Anscombe’s Orangebox Firecracker, showy pup. Not quite the head of 1. In good coat, moved well;

3 Peacock’s Ragatam Kenzie.

PD (4)

1 Baird’s Dowgri Diggory, handy size, liked his head & keen expression, big teeth, in good coat with thick pelt, level topline, strode out well. BPD;

2 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, eyecatching pup, masculine head, short, strong muzzle, pleasing in shoulder. Close decision with 1 but lost out on front movement;

3 Newsome’s Kighill Mister Clooney.

JD (9,1a)

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Beeline, liked this youngster a lot, handy size, pleasing head & expression, narrow all through, easily spanned, harsh coat, thick pelt, straight front, moved well;

2 Dean’s Digmoor Captain Rook by Tyrian, eyecatching dog, showed well, rangier than 1, not quite so strong in head. Excels in hindquarters & strode out very well;

3 Roderick’s Barterhound Twister.

PGD (10)

1 Cobbledick’s Laureton Moonlight Cowboy, honest, workmanlike, moved well, just right for size, liked his expression & short carroty tail. Coat getting past its best;

2 Spencer’s Caznray Double Trouble, smart, racy dog, well laid shoulders, excelled in coat & pelt;

3 Baird’s Dowgri Daredevil.

LD (15,2)

1 Clark’s Gameway Charles Dickens, quality dog who never stopped showing, both in the Border ring & in the group, in really good coat & condition, handy size, easily spanned, level topline held well on the move, pleasing head & expression, moved very well. CC & BOB;

2 Regan’s Digmoor Aces High, racy dog, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good coat & pelt, narrow all through, strong, masculine head, narrow front. RCC;

3 Fryer’s Irton Up Helly Aa.

OD (8)

1 Christensen’s Dutch/Ger Int Danchos Midas, very typy, just right for size, liked his strong, masculine head, narrow all through, good harsh coat, tight feet, thick pads. Pushed hard for RCC;

2 Thomas’ Ch Byrons Greengrass, lovely dog, excels in head, short, strong muzzle, just the right amount of bone, neat feet, moved well;

3 Singhs’ Ch Vandameres Secret Agent.

MPB (12,2)

1 Clark’s Southash Blue Betty Boo Gameway, top quality bl/t with a strong yet feminine head, excels in neck & shoulders, carries ribs well back, moved so well for a youngster & never stopped showing. BP;

2 Hibberd’s Biddestone Picnic, every inch a baby but loved her, pleasing head, neat ears which she used well, narrow all through, moved soundly;

3 Tuffin’s Oatberry Rheme.

PB (2)

1 Thomas’ Benattivo Gemstone for Daluce, typy pup, very confident showgirl, pleasing head & expression, well laid shoulders, easily spanned, neat feet, drove out well from the rear;

2 Newsome’s Kighill Diamond, bigger than 1, strong head, big teeth, narrow all through, in good coat with thick pelt, sound mover, two very nice pups.

JB (19,4)

1 Girling’s Benattivo Rosina, neat, very well presented, just right for size, pleasing, feminine head, narrow front, good rear angulation, harsh coat, thick pelt, moved soundly. RCC;

2 Waller’s Workers Playtime, showy bitch, good head, strong muzzle, right for bone, narrow throughout, excelled in coat & pelt, moved well;

3 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Porche.

PGB (16,3)

1 Peacock’s Mickleheath Crystal by Ragatam, rangy, narrow throughout, ribbed well back, neat feet, ample coat of pleasing texture, short tail, showed well;

2 Fryer’s Irton Polka, strong head, short muzzle, tight feet, well laid shoulders, very fit. Nice bitch to go over but lacked enthusiasm in the ring;

3 Christensen’s Kali-Kama Uptotrixtoo.

LB (18,4)

Little to choose between first three.

1 Pickering’s Picer Polyanthus, smart bl/t with strong head, short muzzle, big teeth, dark eye. Not a lot of coat but thick pelt. Good, tight feet. Moved & showed well;

2 Mogan’s Glebeheath Minnie The Motor at Blewecourt, strong head, used her ears well, narrow all through, ribbed well back, ample harsh coat, covered the ground very well on the move;

3 Dean’s Yeomeadow Heather for Tyrian.

OB (7,1)

1 Fraser & Butler’s Blue Tutu via Ycart, very smart bl/t, pleasing head, nice dark eye, just right for size, easy to span, in good coat & condition, excels in topline & tailset, moved soundly, liked her a lot. CC;

2 Higham’s Comberdown Ciara, lovely bitch, strong head, short muzzle, big teeth, harsh coat, thick pelt, in really good condition, moved soundly, driving well from behind. Just preferred size of 1;

3 Pickering’s Ch Picer Bright Idea.
