BORDER MANCHESTER 19 Judge: Mrs Kathy Newsome BEST OF BREED : 4185 HALL & ELLIS Messrs C & L Ch & Ger NL Ch Brackenfell Bok To Bach JW WW18 BORDER JUDGE MANCHESTER 19 My first judging appointment at a Championship Show and what a lovely day I had. Firstly I would like to thank the Manchester Dog Society for inviting me to judge their show, and also to all the exhibitors for showing their support. I had a lovely selection of dogs and I was very pleased with the quality that came before me. All dogs were entire and mouths were good. Some dogs could have done with being tidied up a little more. 1 Larner's Hawcoat Super Trooper. A good looking dog with a pleasing head and nice eyes, good mouth and well laid shoulders. He had a lovely thick pelt, held a level topline on the move and a good tailset, moved out well. 2 Jackson's Borderby's Return To Sender For Clipstone. Another nice dog with a good mouth, keen expression, straight front and tight feet. Good bend of stifle and moved ok. 3 Shephard's Brookbeech Wild Boy. 1 Dean's Cedarhill Melt In The Mouth. Super puppy dog with a good head with a lovely expression. Good mouth and well positioned ears. Straight front nice tight feet, level topline and had a great presence in the ring for a young dog. Moved with confidence back and front. Pleased to award him Best Puppy In Breed. 2 Larner's Hawcoat Super Trooper. See minor puppy. 3 Freeman's Cedarhill Front Of House. 1 Spafford's Dassett Last Waltz JW. Liked this Border, not overdone in anyway. Otter head with well placed ears, good strong mouth with good sized teeth. Level topline which he carried well whilst on the move around the ring and when still. Tight feet and thick pelt. Well deserved RDCC. 2 Guvercin's Glebeheath Just A Gigolo. Another showy Border, well constructed with tidy front, nice tight neat feet, strong loin and spanned easy. Moved well. Preferred overall look of first. 3 North's Northborders Marlon Brando. 1 Truss' Gameway Macaroon. Clean body lines, narrow in front with well laid shoulders, level topline, good loose pelt with double jacket, moved well. 2 Ryan's Kensteen Boogie Nights. Pleasing head, clean shoulder and straight front, spannable. Preferred movement of first. 3 Jepson's Mysulan Easy Ryder. 1 Irving's Dandyhow Captain Morgan. Always well turned out dogs from this kennel. Lovely shoulders, good head with nice short muzzle, clean front and moved with easy around the ring. 2 Spafford's Oakyard Out N'about At Dassett. Good head and mouth, straight front, a little deep in the chest and just spannable. Moved ok. 3 Baxter's Mysulan Going Solo JW. 1 Hall & Ellis' Ch/Ger Ch Brackenfell Bok To Bach JW WW17. I have always liked the look of this dog and I had the luck of getting my hands on him today, and I wasn't disappointed. Lovely lines and well constructed, good reach of neck with a good strong head. Topline was level on the move and looked stunning in profile just can't miss him, on top form today, Well deserved DCC & BOB. 2 Barrett's Howthwaite Grainsgill. Nice type with pleasing head with a good mouth, adequate bone, good bend of stifle and good jacket and thick pelt. Just a little deeper in chest so it was a little hard for me to span. Moved well. 3 Pile's Tarkaswell Dr Zhivago At Moleschamber ShCM. 1 Spencer's Ch Cobstoneway River Magic JW ShCM. I have judged this dog before and he has matured well. Good topline and double jacket with a good thick pelt. Lovely front and still moves with drive. 2 Wright's Hobholt Hi Roller. Nice clean lines and good head, not a lot of coat today but was starting to come through. Preferred the movement of first. 1 Peacock's Ragatam Essence. Keen expression, narrow in front with laid back shoulders, neat feet good length of rib and nice angulation at the rear moved well. 2 Gilpin's Otterbobs Georgia Blue. Good mouth and nice head, Level topline, good shoulder and nice length of rib and well placed tailset. Moved ok. 3 Barber's Alcumlow Bloom. 1 Johnson's Karison Kalluna. Lovely reach of neck with a good feminine head, short muzzle with good sized teeth. Level topline, good length of rib spannable and moved well. 2 Peacock's 3 Pickering's Picer Martha Logen. 1 Hollinsbee's Otterwood Diodem. Good otter head, full coat with a good thick pelt, narrow front and good reach of neck. Moved well. 2 Baxter's Mysulan Go Easy. Smashing head and a lot to like and another with a harsh double jacket. Preferred movement of first. 3 Jordan-Smith's Ravenside Marsha At Jordith. PGB (14, 3) 1 Medhurst's Onthill La Rock At Grizzledale. Good topline and angulation moved with drive, nice length of neck and a strong loin moved out well. 2 Haydon & Gibbings' Earthtaw Jessica Rabbit. Pleasing head, good level topline. Good mouth. Preferred the drive of winner on the move. 3 Templeman & Comben's Carrickfarm Mhairi. 1 Pickering's Picer Flora Mcivor JW. Really like this kennel and I really liked this bitch. Always well presented with a good harsh coat with loose pelt, lovely expression with a feminine head, straight front with good length of rib and strong loin, nice tight feet, moved with drive, well deserved BCC. 2 Service's Marsirdan Jemima Puddle. Very nice bitch with a good sized skull although a little weaker than first and good mouth. Easily spanned and straight front and straight topline and moved with drive RBCC. 3 Horner's Stineval Kordia JW. 1 Armstrong's Ch/Ir Ch Ploughdown Paloma. Easy spanned, strong head, good reach of neck and carried a level topline on the move. 2 Spencer's Ch Ploughdown Persephone. Tidy bitch with slender lines, head not as strong as first but nice eyes and well placed ears. 3 Heeley's Thistlemead Starlight. 1 Irving's Ch Dandyhow Sonata JW. A well balanced bitch and handled well, lovely flat skull, good mouth and nice short muzzle, straight front and well laid shoulders and length of rib, narrow throughout, loose thick pelt. 2 Moseley's Benattivo Abiba For Abisu. Pleasing bitch, coat wasn't as good as first, straight front, nicely angulated at rear, well placed tail. 3 Brannan & Kelly's Ch Cedarhill Rising Star At Brankell JW.
