BORDER JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 15

Minor Puppy - Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st - Breckgreen Rock Or Bust (Mr B Sentance)
Stood alone but very likeable, good sized puppy, easily spanned and narrow, good neck, shoulder and forehand generally, stands balanced, a little plain in ear but did not detract from his expression, moved ok for his age, presented nicely with correct thick pelt

Puppy - Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 2

1st - Alcumlow Parsley (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber)
Headed a nice trio, lovely stamp of dog, with correct length of bone, narrow but with required strength for his stage of development, really liked his head properties with good proportions and well moulded skull, very pleasing eye and expression, correct depth of body, ribbed back to give good underline, stands on all of his feet well with good rear assembly, moved satisfactorily and presented in double coat BPD

2nd - Navy Seal By Tyrian (Mrs K A Dean)
correctly boned with excellent legs and well padded feet, good skull and although perhaps a shade long in muzzle has good big teeth and strong underjaw. Good to handle, fit and best of coats and pelt

3rd - Stowthorney Mr Tickle (Mr R Brewster & Ms J Green)

Junior - Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 1

1st - Gameway Mcvitie JW (Mrs P Clark)
Eye catching for the right reasons and free from exaggeration this one really steps out in true breed style, closer examination confirmed his very good construction, quality head with correct foreface and winning expression, harsh, tight coat, good legs and feet, easily spanned and correctly bodied, good in loin and hind quarters, freestanding uses himself well standing evenly on his toes just inclined to edge towards his handler occasionally and then pull his head back into his shoulders to look up but I think he is a superior individual CC

2nd - Onthill Aramis (Mr R & Mrs A Ramus)
Useful sort, pleasing outline and workmanlike, head set on well, good neck and shoulders, presented in excellent fettle with good muscle tone and thick coat and skin

3rd - Hemlockstone Nimrod (Mr R H & Miss J A Bryan & Pounder)

Res - Colourbox Flint Knapper Over Swingwing (Mrs G & Mr & Mrs G Cove Print & Fordham)

Graduate - Dog Entries: 5 Absentees: 0

1st - Manorborders Maverick By Tyrian (Mrs K Dean)
Smart exhibit of excellent make and shape, narrow and spannable with correct angulation all through, lacks face furnishings but muzzle is strong with good underjaw and huge proper Border teeth, good skull and correct in stop and head carriage generally, could be a tad neater in ear but certainly does not detract from expression, flowing topline, well ribbed giving correct underline, correct length of back, good in loin, firm, nicely balanced quarters and rear pasterns which he uses to advantage on the move RCC

2nd - Crazy Train Pilgrim to Chatmoss JW ShCM (Mr & Mrs D J & P M Lockley)
Handsome, masculine dog, of admirable size and bone, good skull of medium length with proportionate foreface, good height to length ratios, correctly shaped body and built on active lines, straight front, not quite the freedom of rear construction of winner

3rd - Breckgreen Soldier Blue (Mrs. J. Green)

Res - Otterwood Caius JW ShCM (Mr M J & Mrs J M Hollingsbee)

VHC - Raleniro Second Time Around (Mr M J & Mrs D A Lorraine & Miss P Thomas)

Post Graduate - Dog Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st - Karison Keiser (Miss K Johnson)
Scored in size here coming to hand well, not wearing his best coat but evidence of harsh texture available, preferred length of neck of 2 but attractive head with typical expression and not overdone in stop, ears could be a little neater, head well set on, sufficient lay of shoulder, well bodied with good loin and width of hindquarters, good muscle tone

2nd - Clipstone Starshine (Miss E & Mrs J Jackson)
shapely individual who presents well in profile but does not quite stand parallel in front, does not look big but came up heavier than his athletic lines suggested, very good neck and shoulder and pleasing topline with correct underline and well ribbed back

3rd - Foxpaw Pipps Cross (Mr P & Mrs H Fulker)

Res - Thorneyburn Peace Pipe at Wreighaugh (Mr M & Mrs A J Carr)

VHC - Colourbox Gunpowder (Mrs L A Fordham)

Limit - Dog Entries: 14 Absentees: 2

1st - Tythrop Timepiece (Mrs J L Lee)
Headed a good class of likely specimens, upstanding and very good to go over and proving that if made right it is hard to stand wrong, classic outline, correct size and bone, good skull, set on well, lovely neckline with good shoulder and upper arm, good length of body with excellent rib cage, pushed hard for top honours but just lost out in the final analysis because I felt the other 2 contenders for the ticket were a little tighter all through and really strode out to cover the ground effectively

2nd - Tojamatt Warlord (Mr & Mrs D Matthews)
dog of considerable quality who exudes true Border type, good head with correct eye, ears and expression, well constructed throughout and very fit and sound, perhaps long enough but nevertheless stands balanced with correct angulation all through with good hindquarters with pleasing second thigh

3rd - Bristoc Rock The Boat at Bluebabel (Mr K P & Mrs N B Yates)

Res - Mansergh Burne Jones (Miss A Roslin Williams)

VHC - Badgerbeck Morgan At Southash (Mr J & Mrs I M Southam)

Open - Dog Entries: 7 Absentees: 3

1st - CH Cobstoneway River Magic JW ShCM (Miss C Spencer)
Built on classic lines and deserving of his place in the upper house, lovely otter head and expression, looks at one just as he should, spannable and of correct size there is nothing overdone, well proportioned and everything where it ought to be just a little lethargic and heavier in outline in the challenge but not disgraced by any means

2nd - CH Brackenfell Bok To Bach JW (Mr C Hall & Miss L Ellis)
confident, free showing specimen, not as well made over the forehand and preferred the underline and tail set of winner, but very attractive masculine head properties with good skull and foreface, lovely eye shape and well set ears, moves athletically and certainly has presence

3rd - Alcumlow Solitaire (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber)

Res - Stowthorney Swinging Sam (Mr R Brewster & Ms J Green)

Minor Puppy - Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1st - Cobstoneway Love Song (Mrs G Stevens)
Promising juvenile who appealed for type, excelled with her tight dense coat and lovely outline, good skull and foreface, nothing overdone, nicely made in neck and shoulder, narrow with straight legs, correct body for her age and development, moved as she should BP

2nd - Otterwood Domina Candesco (Mr M J & Mrs J M Hollingsbee)
not quite as forward as 1 but sound and feminine with everything where it should be, head good to handle with pleasing expression, lovely neckline, stands balanced evenly on all feet, good body shape with correct rib

3rd - It Had To Be You At Borderbridge (Miss B J Singh)

Puppy - Bitch Entries: 10 Absentees: 2

1st - Calnestone Alice at Coolins (Mr C Dobson)
So correct for age, sweet, lithe exhibit, nicely proportioned and spannable with good carry back of rib and shapely quarters, presented in a proper jacket, good otter head and typical expression, moved nicely but not quite as self possessed as MP in the challenge

2nd - Southash Dancing Queen (Mr J & Mrs I M Southam)
very likeable too with many of the same good qualities I was looking for, needs to develop a little further in head and tighten in front but handy size, readily spanned with correct quality of bone, shapely hind quarters with a proper rump and tailset.

3rd - Puzzlers Hope Full Hattie (Mrs E J Pinkham)

Res - Stowthorney Make A Memory (Mr C & Mrs F Bryant)

VHC - Ianteg Red Rubi (Miss S Richie)

Junior - Bitch Entries: 9 Absentees: 2

1st - Tythrop Touchstone (Mrs J Lee)
Topping this well contested class a beautiful bitch to go over with all the required strength without any coarseness or lack of femininity, super otter head, good underjaw, muzzle and that characteristic expression from her well shaped eyes and ears falling close to the cheeks, lovely straight front, good neck and shoulder, correct depth of body, narrow and spannable with good ribbing and loin and sound rear assembly, on the move she demonstrated her good construction moving true fore and aft with ground covering efficiency, all Border with that undefinable air of consequence, produced in close double coat with good skin, worthy CC and BOB

2nd - Tojamatt Integrity (Mr & Mrs D Matthews)
A good one that handles well with lots to recommend, pretty headed bitch with keen expression, scored in elbow placement over 3 and preferred her underline, but nevertheless close decision as 3 had excellent rear quarters and was in perfect coat and pelt

3rd - Clevepark Dazzle (Mr J L Parkes OBE)

Res - Argentail Titania by Onthill (Mr R & Mrs A Ramus)

VHC - Torryburn Portia (Mrs J Allison)

Graduate - Bitch Entries: 10 Absentees: 1

Pleasing class.

1st - Lady Mary of Foxpaw (Mr P & Mrs H Fulker)
Perhaps big enough but not over cooked in any department, lovely frame, very typical, good skull and muzzle proportions, eye shape and smashing expression, correct length of neck and well laid shoulder, ribbed back as she should be, good coat and pelt, knees could be tidied to advantage as she is not knuckled over, moved well and in control at all times

2nd - Torryburn Cadenza (Miss J Aldis)
one of those honest types that you appreciate more and more as you go over her, bone ok, presents a sensible picture, good head properties, I really was happy to see such good eyes in so many today giving the pleasing typical expression and outlook, good body lines, loin, quarters and tail, stands balanced and in good order for conditioning, moved satisfactorily

3rd - Tarkaswell Doctor's Orders JW (Mrs C E Sansom)

Res - Smalesmouth Skylark (Mrs J Roberts)

VHC - Emblehope Songcraft (Mrs E Ramsay)

Post Graduate - Bitch Entries: 10 Absentees: 3

1st - Mansergh Plusfours (Miss A Roslin-Williams)
Engaging individual who was a real contender for the top spot, free showing and standing evenly on her toes, every fibre was firm and long for athleticism without bulk, flawless presentation, beautifully headed, with shapely clean neckline, well laid shoulders, correct depth and length of body, strong quarters with best of tails, she really used her well let down hocks to drive over the ground, all typical I found my CC winner a shade more positive coming towards me but it is the sort of quandary one has to enjoy RCC

2nd - Alcumlow Miss Teeq (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber)
Presents well with excellent outline, not quite as finished as 1 overall, ideal bone, straight narrow front, good body proportions, flowing topline which she held well on the move, good in loin and rear assembly, sound, feminine and put down in super condition and jacket

3rd - Twigglestone Elfenor JW ShCM (Mrs L I Aldous)

Res - Lady Fiona Mctarry (Miss A J Sutton & Mr M Sugden)

VHC - Bimandi's Bellissima (Mr V J Pearce)

Limit - Bitch Entries: 11 Absentees: 4

1st - Tythrop Turn Back Time (Mrs J L Lee)
Another quality class with a line-up to gladden any eye, lead by a fine specimen from a kennel with the ability to turn out inmates in tip top condition and correct coats and pelts, characteristic head, good length of neck, well bodied with good rib, good quarters with correct angulation and second thigh, sensible, sound mover

2nd - Emblehope Dance and Dance JW (Miss D Bladen)
So much to like, built on racy lines, just preferred the forehand of 1 but otherwise has the same good qualities and moves with stylish ease, in no way disgraced not to go further today in such excellent company

3rd - Tarkaswell Double Agent JW (Mrs C E Samsom)

Res - Smalesmouth Skype (Mrs J Roberts)

VHC - Ploughdown Persephone (Miss C Spencer)

Open - Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 3

1st - Brumberhill Bonjour (Mr S A Mcpherson)
Excels in type and expression, a lovely example from any angle, stands balanced, resplendent in superb full coat and pelt, has correct bone, excellent neck, shoulder and return of upperarm, well bodied with good rib, loin and hence underline, moves true, carries herself well from nose to tail, my three final players for the ticket made for a very close contest and she narrowly missed out on top honours as the youngsters came in with a little more vivacity

2nd - Benattivo Best Bet Karison (Miss K Johnson)
very honest and workmanlike sort who displays to advantage on a loose lead, narrow and straight in front, good expression, shapely throughout and went really well

3rd - Mansergh Lizzie Siddal (Miss A Roslin Williams)

Judge(s): MISS S LESLIE
