Border Terriers

I thought the quality of the dogs has improved since the last time I judged. They were on a par with the bitches in depth.

1 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Cyrus, pleasing in head, good bite, dark eyes, well placed shoulders, straight front, kept good topline, moved true;

2 Wallace’s Hobholt Hallmark, good head & expression, clean teeth, straight front, plenty of bone, in harsh coat with thick pelt, moved with confidence;

3 Singh’s Ragatam Poco for Borderbridge.

PD (4)

1 Duxbury’s Keycharm Phantom by Ridgebow, well constructed, good width of skull, dark eye, easily spanned, good front, harsh coat, moved true. BP;

2 Rumsam’s Saygo of Hassage, lost out on coat to 1. OK in head, well placed shoulders, kept good topline on the move.

1 Gregory’s Remony Runrig, nice Border expression, good clean teeth, good length of neck flowing into clean shoulders, in excellent coat, moved true;

2 Tuffin’s Othamcourt Woodchat at Oatberry, nice type, correct head, good bite, straight front, moved true;

3 Guvercin’s Glebeheath Godber.

1 R Runrig;

2 Hopper’s Esyntona Rip Van Winkle, strong headed, big teeth, in thick coat. Could just span. Moved OK;

3 Haughton’s Chorbeck Charlie Chaplin.

1 Dean’s Cedarhill Beyond The Stars, not a lot between 1 & 2. Good head, straight front, nice reach of neck, easily spanned, in good jacket, moved well;

2 Price’s Oxcroft Rocco, super headed dog, good bite, well laid shoulders, tight feet. Just lost on jacket to 1;

3 Rose’s Kersfell Conquistador.

LD (11)

1 Bate’s Sweeping Foxtrot for Kgills, lovely dog to handle, good width of skull, large teeth, well laid shoulders, straight front, good bend of stifle, correct b/t coat & short tail, put everything in. Went well both ways. CC;

2 Lowry’s Ravenside Workforce, in good fettle, excellent head, good teeth, strong unerjaw which some were lacking. Straight front, tight feet, well placed shoulders, kept level topline on the move. Could change places another day. RCC;

3 Docwra’s Bandicoot Double Take.

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Dr Walter, pleasing in head, nice width of skull, good bite, straight front, well laid shoulders, easily spanned, good set on, moved true. Not an easy decision to leave him out of the top awards;

2 Bailey’s Ch Grindelvald In Full Cry, worthy champion, lovely red, full of quality, easily spanned, moved with drive from well made back end;

3 Matthews’ Rexlands Cock Robin.

1 Irving’s Dandyhow Sonata, quality young bitch, nice female head,well laid shoulders, well shaped body,flat ribs. Just lost out for BP on coat condition;

2 Gregory’s Remony Winter’s Diamond, unlucky to meet 1. Pleasing in head, good bite, nice reach of neck, good shoulders, moved OK;

3 Dean’s Cedarhill Irresistabelle.

PB (6) 1 Matthews’ Tojamatts Morgana, nice young bitch, correct in head, good bite, dark eye, neck flowing into well placed shoulders, good body length, in good jacket, moved well;

2 R Winter’s Diamond;

3 Wildey’s Brumborder Dillicar at Shiftyfox.

A class of very nice young bitches.

1 Stockley’s Foxfactor Cue The Music, stood out for quality, will take some beating when fully mature. Very good head, big teeth, lovely reach of neck, good front, tight feet, moved true both ways;

2 Reeves’ Baywillow Blue Design, close up to 1. Correct b/t coat, same remarks as 1;

3 Sneddon’s Kersfell Chorus Girl.

1 Martin’s Merumhor Solstice Belle, good head, clean big teeth, good bone, straight front, harsh bl/t coat, nice bend of stifle, moved with drive;

2 B Blue Design;

3 K Chorus Girl.

1 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Tansy, good bite, strong muzzle, straight front, dark eye, in good jacket, nice bend of stifle, kept good topline on the move;

2 Roberts’ Smalesmouth Maylady, pleasing in head, good teeth, nice flat ribs, very narrow, in good coat, moved with drive;

3 Wingfield’s Eneonith Dazzeling Diamond.

LB (15)

1 Girling’s Benattivo Faberge, lovely bitch to handle, excellent type, good teeth, nice width of skull, well laid shoulders, thick pelt, good harsh coat, moved round the ring with drive, should reach the top. RCC;

2 Duxbury’s Ravenside Ma Biche at Ridgebow, very close up to 1. Good type, clean teeth, well laid shoulders, thick pelt, harsh coat, moved true;

3 Robbins’ Kyscafter Kestrel.

OB (11)

1 Wildey’s Bramblebrae Violet at Shiftyfox, very nice bitch, hard to fault. Super head, dark eye, clean big teeth, lovely size, easily spanned, in harsh wire coat, good set on, moved round the ring true. CC & BOB;

2 Clark’s Ch Southash Blue Betty Boo Gameway, a worthy ch, very good type, lovely shoulders & front, easily spanned, kept good topline on the move. Let down by coat;

3 Johnson & Williams’ Biddestone Poppyseed by Quarryway.
