Border Terriers

MPD (3)

1 Horner’s Stineval Marashino, upstanding puppy, nice head with strong muzzle, racy & narrow, easily spanned & steady on the move. Would prefer better upper arm angulation;

2 Wallace’s Hobholt Helmsman, straight front with good angulation & deep in brisket. Not as steady on the move;

3 Jackson & Dugdale’s Krikbyvalley Auroa.

PD (5)

1 Matthew’s Rexlands Cock Robin, handy size, good handy size, good head & expression, thick double coat, good bone & length of rib, moved true. BPD;

2 Archibald’s Lairehope Lord Of The Glen at Tweedburn, pleasing head, neat front & good rear angulation. Not in the best of coat;

3 Peacock’s Ragatam Let’s Go.

JD (9,4a)

1 Alexander’s Glenbucket Clan Chief, like him a lot, strong upstanding dog, narrow throughout, good bone, straight front, level topline, nicely balanced & in good coat, moved very well;

2 Willis’ Badgerbeck Beau Gest, similar to 1 but lost out on movement;

3 Wildey’s Brumborder River Skipp.

YD (8,1)

1 Harrison’s Iacheslei Cantus, handy size, easily spanned, balanced & not overdone, good carrot tail, moved & showed well;

2 B Beau Gest;

3 Lowry’s Ravenside Valleymoss.

GD (7,1)

1 I Cantus;

2 R Let’s Go, racy, upstanding puppy, narrow but deep. Not as positive as 1 on the move;

3 Hollingsbee’s Xapex Santiago at Otterwood.

PGD (5)

1 Anderson’s Minx’s Diamond, pleasing head & expression, up to size, but balanced, narrow, good shoulders & moved well. Lacked sparkle in the challenge;

2 Houston’s Earthwise Wolfbane, smaller type, good front & rear angulation, let down by tailset;

3 Hodgson’s Solitary Mist.

LD (13,2)

Good class.

1 Bailey’s Grindelvald in Full Cry, just what I was looking for, strong masculine head, racy & narrow with a level topline complemented by a neat carrot tail, excellent condition throughout, light on his feet & moved effortlessly round the ring. DCC & BOB;

2 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Dill, excellent specimen & a lot to like, different type to 1, lovely expression, good neck & shoulders, clean balanced outline, very showy, close decision. RCC;

3 Wheatley’s Remony Blue Diamond at Loiriston.

OD (7)

Another good class, all placed dogs worthy of winning.

1 Culley’s Earthwise Deuteronomy, pleasing head, excellent straight front, narrow throughout, good length of rib, level topline. Coat not at its best. Moved very well;

2 Peacock’s Ch Ragatam Harris, smaller type, in good coat & hard condition, easily spanned. Preferred the racy lines of 1. Showed & moved well;

3 Fryer’s Ch Irton Up Helly Aa.

MPB (5)

1 Knight’s Southash Party Knight, beautiful balanced baby, sweet head & expression, narrow straight front, good double coat, one to watch. BP;

2 Horner’s Stineval Santina, smart puppy, narrow racy lines. Would prefer better front angulation. Steady on the move;

3 Wallace’s Hobalt Highlite.

PB (7,5)

Poor class.

1 Lothian’s Lairehope Sapphire Rose, pretty b/t, handy size, nice head & expression, in excellent coat. Not handled to her advantage;

2 Johnson’s Joncroft Never Unprepared, upstanding bitch, straight front, moved OK. A little on the heavy side & lacked coat.

JB (12,3)

1 Armstrong’s Badgerbeck Blizzard at Ploughdown, racy b/t, narrow throughout, good length of rib, nice level topline, good front & rear angulation, strides out on the move. Didn’t move as well in the challenge;

2 Johnson’s & Williams’ Biddestone Poppyseed, handy size, very pretty, lovely expression, balanced throughout, good coat. Lost to 1 on maturity, liked her a lot;

3 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Blueberri.

YB (5)

1 Wright’s Totherend Tonic, smaller type but balanced, pleasing head, good shoulders, level topline & lovely carrot tail, an excellent double coat, moved very well;

2 Houston’s Hollowpoint New Beginning for Earthwise, racy blue, narrow throughout & workmanlike, not as feminine as 1;

3 Archibald’s Plushcourt Retraced.

GB (5,1)

1 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Blueberri, sweet head & expression, good front & rear angulation, in good coat. Would prefer a little more daylight under her;

2 Morgan’s Sextonmagic Tamarind at Taralyon, pleasing expression, narrow throughout & well muscled. Let down by tailset;

3 Fraser’s Achnagairn Smart Card.

PGB (9,2)

A difficult class.

1 Culley’s Joncroft Scullery Maid at Apasc, racy narrow bitch, carrying a very heavy double coat, strong but feminine head, good length of rib & level topline, moved OK;

2 Johnson’s Joncroft Waterkelpie, smart bitch. Not as narrow as 1 but balanced in outline, moved with purpose;

3 Allison’s Tividale Maple.

LB (15,5)

A good class.

1 Fryer’s Irton Polka, racy upstanding bitch, lovely otter head, good shoulders, front & rear angulation, carrying an excellent double coat, moved freely round the ring on a loose lead. RBCC;

2 Mitchell’s Ragatam Jasmine at Paleside, smaller type but balanced & easily spanned, very pretty bitch, shown in excellent condition, moved very well;

3 Wade’s Partridgdale Blue Berry.

OB (3,1)

1 Gregory’s Ch Remony Barley Twist, strong but feminine head, lovely expression, good bone, straight front, well angulated front & rear, narrow throughout & easily spanned, moved true with good drive from behind. BCC;

2 Fraser & Butler’s Blue Tutu via Ycart, finer type, straight front, narrow throughout, very workmanlike. Not as feminine as 1. Moved very well. Would like to see her with more coat.
