WELSH JUDGE WINDSOR 24

PD (2,1)

1 Tillmonts Rocket Man (Williams) Handsome, young dog. Mature for his age and true to type. Strong, well-proportioned head and jaw. Perfect scissor bite. Coarse, wiry coat of good colour. Good presentation and handling. Correct proportions overall, producing good reach and drive. He was the only dog in his class and he moved well in it. However, in the final line- up, he let himself and his handler down because he just wouldn’t settle. He made it difficult for me, and spectators, to appreciate his real movement and outline against the others. Subsequent to my judging, I discovered he already has a CC. With a bit more training, he should easily be made up.

LD (1)

1 Jodean Jolly Roger (Vickers & Dams) Alert dog of good coat and colour. Pleasing expression. Good bite from lovely white teeth. Short back with well set-on tail. Presented and handled well, but moved a little close behind.

OD (4,1)

1 Ch Perrisblu The Phantom (Cole) Outstanding Welsh Terrier. Presented and handled to perfection. I couldn’t fault him at all. Well balanced and compact. Muscular, with good bone. Moved soundly and with purpose – you can’t keep your eyes off him. DCC/BOB. Subsequently heard that he’d gone on to win BIS. Well deserved.

2 Ned Ch Knowlelion Real Deal (Hughes & Smeets) Another typical Welsh dog, with very keen expression. Well laid back shoulders, short back and tail set on just right. Movement as it should be. Harsh coat of good colour. Presented and handled well. RDCC. 3 Darwyn The Best Is Yet to Come (O’Connell).

JB (2,1)

1 Monaline Emma at Penparc (Imp Srb) (Allen) Such a pretty young bitch, presented and handled well by her owner/handler. Extremely alert at all times. Beautiful head, small dark eye and correctly placed leathers. Harsh coat, correct black and tan. Well set-on tail. Moved well all ways. RBCC.

PGB (1)

1 Cunnings Yellow Submarine (Imp Ita) (Karov). Nice coarse coat. Good teeth and bite. Showed and moved better when handler asked to speed up a little. Needs some help with presentation. Only realised she was 11 years old when, post judging, looked at catalogue. Why wasn’t she in the veteran class?

OB (4,1)

1 Tiltser Caffe Americano at Renevis (Robertson) Very feminine bitch of correct size. Well proportioned head with a keen expression. Ears, jaw and teeth as they should be. Correct coat and colour, presented and handled well by her experienced owner. Well-ribbed up, tail on top and moved correctly today. BCC.

2 Etna from Michel (Denk) Well presented by her experienced handler. Good coat and colour. Nicely proportioned head with good ear set, giving an alert expression. Didn’t think she moved as well as the winner of this class on the day.

3 Perrisblu Delta Lady (Davies). Handler walked off before card could be presented!
