WELSH SOUTH WALES 22 Judge: Mr L H Snow (Felstead) It’s such a shame to watch the demise of the trimmed terrier breeds at Championship shows this year, hopefully it’s a temporary set back reflecting what’s happened over these last few years, not only in this country but the world over, today, unfortunately, there were only two classes to judge, both were of a very high standard with presentation of each exhibit of the highest quality, the ringside I am sure would have acknowledged this, hopefully next year we can encourage new people to attend and exhibit at more shows and the numbers will increase or I really fear for the breed at Championship show level. PGD 1(0) 1. Whale/Cantrell’s Carajon Goroeswr Bach Ni. Typy welsh dog with lovely head and expression shown in fine coat and body weight, sound free mover, he is a proper show dog and well handled. 1. Edwards’ Too Darn Hot at Pendevour. Really short backed, cobby dog of excellent make and shape, well presented and handled, moved freely and in excellent coat and colour, my only criticism is I would like to see him a little bigger. 1. Avveduti’s Int/It/Fr/NL Ch. Cunnings Boris The Blade WW EW. Really well balanced dog of good make and shape, size and condition, proper welsh head and expression, good level big ribbed body with tail on top, sound mover, presentation excellent, DCC & BOB. 2. Robertson’s Renevis Rollercoaster. Another top quality dog in excellent coat and condition from top to toe, beautiful head and expression, lovely neck and level top-line, just preferred general movement of winner, RDCC. 3. Booton’s Boowire Ring Of Fire. Another quality exhibit in super condition making up a trio of top quality dogs, pleasure to see and judge such a quality class. 1. Watkin-Jones’ Little Blossom Of The Sky. 7 year old Welsh Terrier which really seemed to enjoy her day, shown with a coarse wiry coat of corset length, good overall appearance, moved freely for her handler. 1. Penson’s Wynne Wind Fair of Coast. Very immature little baby, full of herself all of the time and proved a handful for her handler, when settled moved freely, obviously needs to grow and mature, nice to see such enthusiastic new exhibitors, BP. 1. Mathias’ Dalys Brenhines Cymru at Dapperdax. Good quality type with true welsh expression, correct size, make and shape, moved well for her handler, presented in good trim, coat and body weight. 1. Vickers/Dams’ Jodean A Dash Of Poison. Top quality bitch when viewed from any angle, shown in super coat and condition, lovely head, neck and shoulders, level top-line, good set on, moved soundly fore and aft, BCC. 2. Spragg’s Westpenn Black Magic Woman. A bitch out of the top drawer, very well presented and handled, lovely forehand and top-line, moved and showed well, very little separated these two, RBCC. |
