WELSH MANCHESTER 15 Judge: Mr Julien Barney BEST OF BREED : 1932 POTTS Mr A R Ir Ch Kebulak Trigger Happy DO YOU WISH THAT THE KENNEL CLUB WOULD PUT IT'S OWN HOUSE IN ORDER? WELSH JUDGE MANCHESTER 15 Welsh Terriers PD (2) 1 Spragg’s Westpenn Lazy Poker Blues, only just 6 months old so needs to settle into himself a bit on the move. Nice make & shape & held himself well. Keen & alert with a typical Welsh head & expression. Flowed well through neck & shoulders into good topline. Tail well set on; 2 Thompson’s Sonorra Mr Bramble, not as balanced in outline as 1. Bit thicker through the forehand & came towards you a little wide. Well ribbed & strong loin. Presentation could be a bit sharper. JD (2) 1 Witmond’s Boowire Ignite My Fire at Tiltser, well presented with good rich tan colouring. Bright expression on his toes, good ear size & used them. Clean neck & shoulders into a good topline. Well set tail. Moved well fore & aft, smart well balanced dog. RCC; 2 Jones’ Felstead Caio Dyma Fi at Cwnogion, not the head of 1. Bit too broad in skull for my liking. Good neck & shoulder, well ribbed in to good loin. Good straight front legs & feet. Could do with a lot less coat around the forehand to help create more flowing lines & wouldn’t look so broad in front, plus some coat off the outside of the elbow would makes things look tighter. PGD (1) 1 Crabtree’s Brocolitia Revenge, smart & alert boy on his toes. Pleasing head & expression, used his ears well. Good strong neck. Well ribbed & good loin, into a well made rear construction. Good straight front with catlike feet. Moved well away & kept his topline in profile. In good harsh coat & colour. OD (2) 1 Potts’ Ir Ch Kebulak Trigger Happy, typical masculine Welsh dog with a good head & expression, well set ear & good size. Clean neck & shoulder into a well made forehand. Good straight front & catlike feet. Well ribbed & strong topline, tail we set on with some bum behind it. Moved freely both ways, in good harsh coat & well presented. CC & BOB; 2 Chong & Wong’s Multi Ch Aman Raider Of The Lost Ark, not the substance of 1 & not in the best of coats at the moment. Well presented as I would expect. Good neck & shoulder placement, into a level topline & well set tail. Pleasing head with a well set ear, which he used. PB (3) 1 Varey’s Mariinsk Don’t Stop Me Now, super colour for her age. Good coat & well presented. Good neck & shoulder into well made front construction. Good bone & feet. Lovely head & expression with neat, well set ear. Moved well both ways, one to watch in the future. BP & then went on to be placed PG3; 2 Spragg’s Westpenn If You Be My Baby, not as mature as the 1 & needs to drop into herself a little. Good depth of brisket & well ribbed. Well made rear construction & could see that on the move when she settled; 3 Heath’s Cannyyatton Flora Lilli. JB (1) 1 Snow’s Felstead Prim, loved this bitch as soon as she came in the ring. Lovely balanced outline & make & shape. Moved parallel both ends. Super feminine head & expression. Super ear & set. Very keen & alert especially in the line-up for the CC. Flowed so well from her neck into her well placed shoulder into a good topline & a well set tail. Good colour & harsh coat. CC. Lost out in maturity & composure for BOB. PGB (2) 1 Graham’s Stanstead Miss Whip Lash, more substance to 2 & just preferred her head & expression. In good harsh coat & condition. Moved well away & had the rear construction to drive off. Well muscled; 2 Hughes & Pearce’s Knowlelion Keep It Secret, not quite in the same fettle as 1. Not quite the maturity. Good coat & colour with a well set tail. Good straight front & catlike feet. LB (1) 1 Ashton’s Kitesprite Flights Of Fancy, not at her best today & not in the best of coats. Good straight front, into good ribbing. Pleasing head & expression. Wasn’t particularly settle on the move today. OB (2) 1 Hughes & Pearce’s Knowlelion Bertha Brainbox, two different types of bitches with qualities to like about both. In the end I preferred the balance & flow through the neck & shoulders of this bitch. Well made front & strong neck. Well ribbed, maybe like a little more length to the loin. Well set tail with a bum behind. Moved well both ways. RCC; 2 Potts’ Kebulak Femme Fatale, smart bitch right on her toes, clean neck into well made front. Like little less length of body. Good rear construction & well set tail. Very keen on the move. JULIEN BARNEY |
