WELSH LKA 13 Judge: Mr Albert Wight (Sharval) BEST OF BREED : 6755 VAREY Mr & Mrs A Sonorra Charlie Brown WELSH JUDGE LKA 13 Welsh Terriers MPD (3,1a) 1 BP & RBD, Shackell’s Romaunt Walking The Dead, lovely for size, well weighted bone, really flat skull with strong jaws & perfect mouth. Eyes fairly deep set though could be a tad darker for me. Nice neck, well ribbed, strong loin & a very harsh jacket which is richly coloured. Needs some ring training as he is hyper charged at times when moving, but he did enough; 2 Ashton’s Red Kite to Kitesprite, size smaller & lighter framed all through. Just the 6 months & far less advanced than the winner but he is well schooled, moved around the ring without pulling & stacked well. Pleasing head, eyes & ears, tan colour could be deeper in hue to his advantage, well set & carried tail. PD & JD (0). PGD (1) 1 BOB, Varey’s Sonorra Charlie Brown, I thought he had lots to like. He is all male in head which is a lovely shape, beautiful eyes & ears, strong nicely arched neck & he is so well ribbed. Coat harsh & richly coloured & he is so well muscled in hindquarters. I’d like more layback in shoulder as his front action is restricted in profile. Nonetheless I felt he had an air of quality & style that warranted sending him through to the group. OD (0). VD (1) 1 BV, Duhig & Kong’s Mandrill Gold Hill, a remarkably fit & able 11 year old in phenomenal body & muscle condition. Lots to like, correct size, so well ribbed, super neck & backline & a well balanced head with neat ears. Harsh well coloured jacket & he is still light footed in action. So well presented & clearly the recipient a much love & attention. I’m told he still does three miles a day! MPB (1) 1 Heath’s Cannyyatton Madonna Lilli, a nicely coloured & coated youngster who was quite overawed by the whole proceeding. I was able to handle her alright but her gameness & fearlessness had gone on holiday! I liked her size, good head planes, ample neck & is she is quite compact. Managed to get enough out of her on the move & she briefly raised her tail to show that she can become OK. PB (1) 1 C Madonnaa Lilli. JB (1) 1 Witmond’s Tiltser Jubilee, ultra feminine, well balanced head with really good eyes & expression. She is compact in body, ribs have depth & she is well coated. She moved out with a regular stride pattern & was well presented. Would just like a shade more of her all over. PGB (2,1) 1 BB, Ashton’s Kitesprite Flights Of Fancy, I thought she had a really good headpiece, the skull flat, a modicum of stop, powerful muzzle with depth & really good eyes & expression. Nice neck, short coupled with a decent loin & well set & carried tail. She was in lovely coat & her profile action was so pleasing. OB (2) 1 RBB, Spragg’s Westpenn Merry Go Round, so well made in body, ribbing, musculature & presentation. She was so sound on the move, tight feet & good pigmentation. Scores in reach of neck & neat ears. I felt just a shade overdone in head for me which cost her BB; 2 Hughes’ Dobelands Ice Waker, 7 years old, out of a smaller mould & she is so well coated, the colours deep & true & she covered the ground with a positive stride. She is well bodied, good tailset & carriage & well muscled hindquarters. I would prefer more width in muzzle & skull. VB (0). ALBERT WIGHT |
