WELSH CRUFTS 23 Judge: Mr D L Williams My thanks to the Crufts committee for the invitation to judge at Crufts which I had been looking forward to immensely, and also to all those who entered under me. I would also like to thank my two hard working stewards, who did a sterling job, despite having already completed two breeds. Some exhibits were let down by basic housekeeping, being knot free and having tidy nails should be a given. Correct knife skills make for correct coat and skin and this also could have been improved upon in some exhibits. Despite this I was pleased to see that all had correct bites and most were very well presented. It was great to see entry numbers higher than they have been for some time and I hope this continues for the breed. 1 Humphries Penparc Skyfall 8 year old male turned out in good condition. He has a nice head and good topline. He is well bodied with a good tail set and nice feet. Moved well. 2 Humphries Serbonche Breuddwyd Mam At almost ten years old this male is giving away some years to the winner. However he is well balanced with a nice head and moved nicely. 1 Connell Sonorra Regal Prince A 10 month old characterful puppy. Stacked he has a good topline and makes a promising picture. He has very nice head and ears and is well balanced throughout. He has a good coat which was well turned out. He has a lovely turn of stifle and correct tail set. Good angulation front and rear. Can only improve on the move with maturity. BP. 1 Averis & Barker Saredon Heritage A very promising youngster. He has a lovely head, with good ears and correct eye. Well bodied, with correct feet finished with short nails. His well presented coat is correct in both texture and colour. He moved well and is sure to have a bright future. 2 Bennett & Innes Jodean Commando at Bolhaus Nice male who is smaller in type than 1. He was a little unsure of himself today. He has nice short hocks, a good turn of stifle and pleasing feet. 1 Whale & Cantrell Carajon Goroeswr Bach Ni Charming male presented in good condition throughout. He is well balanced, with a nice head and dark eye. Has a good reach of neck and is well bodied. Correct cat like feet, moved well. 2 Plumbly Bolhaus Sedbergh Scholar Taller male than 1 who has a good eye and nice expression. He has a good turn of stifle and was presented here today and in good condition throughout. 3 Wildash Bravo Burnett On Fire Attractive male with a nice expression. He was presented nicely and looks well when stacked but was a little unsure on the move today. 1 Avveduti Cunnings Easy Rider An attractive make with a nice topline. He has a good head, nice ears, and a correct dark eye making a lovely expression. Correct cat like feet and nice short nails. Good turn of stifle and well angulated. He was well presented throughout and excelled on the move. Was a pleasure to award him the Reserve CC, and I later learned he was the son of the CC winner. 2 O’connell Darwyn The Best Is Yet to Come Attractive male with a very nice expression. He is nicely constructed throughout, well bodied and has a lovely topline. He has a good coat which was well presented. He makes a pleasing picture when stacked, 3 Jenkins Capo Di Tutti Smaller in type than 1 & 2. He has a nice eye and expression and moved well. 1 Avveduti Int/it/fr/nl Ch Cunnings Boris The Blade Ww Ew Five year old male with so much to like about him. He has an outstanding head and expression with correct dark eye. He is well constructed throughout which allows him to be faultless on the move. Presented here today in top notch coat and condition and handled to his advantage. I was delighted to award him the CC and BOB at what I learned was to be his last show in the UK. He put on a flawless performance in the group and all involved should be proud of what he has achieved. 2 Robertson Renevis Rollercoaster An attractive male turned out in good condition. He has a lovely head and eye. Good coat which was presented well. Correct cat like feet. He moved well and has a great rapport with his handler. 3 Booton Boowire Ring of Fire Pleasing male with a lovely head and good expression. He is well angulated with a nice turn of stifle, moved well. 1 Lieblova Legenda Od Guvernera An 8 year old bitch who was presented in the best of conditions. She has a lovely topline, correct feet and a good tail set. She has a pleasing head and lovely expression. She is very well presented and handled to get the best from her. Moved soundly and could still trouble the younger ones when considering top honours. BV. 2 Watkin-Jones Little Blossom of The Sky Pleasing veteran bitch with a nice topline. Stood and moved well, enjoying her day. 1 Mccluskey & Young London Baby from Michel at Chadbrook TAF A very promising puppy bitch. She has an attractive expression and good front construction. Good coat of correct colour and texture. Moved well. 2 Bennett & Innes Bolhaus Royal Riot A very feminine bitch with a nice eye and pretty expression. She moved well but I preferred the tailset of 1. 3 Watkin-Jones Westpenn Just for You Immature puppy who was determined to give her handler a hard time today. Hopefully with time she will settle to allow a better assessment of her attributes. 1 Davies Diamond Crown A very pretty feminine bitch. She has a pleasing head and expression. Good reach of neck and correct turn of stifle. She was well presented in good coat. Interesting to see that her mother was the bitch I awarded the CC & BOB to last time I judged, and she has many of her mother’s attributes. 2 Spragg Westpenn Seven Stars Attractive bitch with a nice expression and good eye. She has good feet and was presented in good coat and condition. Her tail set and carriage was not as good as 1. 3 Jones Cwnogion Eldra Aur She has a pleasing head with a good expression completed with a nice dark eye. Nicely presented. 1 Schmid Zara Od Guvernéra Import Tschechien Attractive bitch with lots to like. She has a very pleasing head, good ears and a lovely expression. Well constructed front and rear. Excellent coat, both condition and colour, which was very well presented. She moved well and pushed hard for top honours. 2 O’connell & Hotchin Knowlelion Skys The Limit This bitch has a very pleasing expression and attractive head. Correct topline. Correct tight feet. She is well and angulated and moved soundly. 3 Avveduti That’s Amore Cunnings del Bosco Magico Attractive bitch with a nice expression, although she is not as feminine as 1 & 2. She has a good neck, is well bodied, with good rear angulation. Moved well. 1 Annus Monaline Unicum This ultra feminine bitch captivated me as soon as she entered the ring. She has the prettiest of heads with a small dark eye. Good ears, carried correctly. On the table she is well made throughout. Correct angulation front and rear and lovely tail set. Correct cat like feet and an excellent topline. Stacked she presents the complete picture and on the move she is faultless. Very well presented and handled. Pleased to award her the CC. 2 Vickers & Dams Jodean A Dash of Poison Another pleasing bitch who also has a lovely expression and eye. Presented in good coat condition which is trimmed to her advantage. She has good angulation front and rear. Moved well. Was unlucky to meet the CC winner today but more than deserving of the Reserve CC. 3 Avveduti Cunnings On The Town Attractive head and nice eye. Good reach of neck and nice topline. Correct tail set. Well presented and handled.
