WELSH CRUFTS 18 Judge(s): MRS C J DORKING I really enjoyed my day at Crufts and would like to express my thanks to all exhibitors, particularly those who travelled from abroad. I had some very nice dogs from which to select my winners. Dentition was noticeably improved from the last occasion on which I judged. BOB Eskwyre Wyart Earp, BOS & Res BOB - Ch Monaline Lagoon Lee, BP Westpenn Sugar Mama. 1 Draper,'s Russtam Simply a Prince. Sound 7 year old dog with a great coat and colour for his age. Moved well, though a little close behind. Presented and handled well by his owner. 1 Witmond's Tiltser Double O' Seven. Very well presented, sound 17 month old dog with a great expression. Correct size and excellent coat/colour. Tail set well on top. Moved with purpose and confidence. 2 Pearce's Demorner Nightmoon. Just didn't move as well as No 1 on the day - a little close behind. Again, a well set on tail and a decent coat. I did like his typically Welsh head. 1 Vickers, Eskwyre Buffalo Bill. Correct size. Compact with a very nice square head giving attentive expression. Good coat/colour and moved well in both directions. 2 Bennett's Tough Cookie at Bolhaus. Nice, harsh coat of good colour. Tail carried on top. A bit wide in the front resulting in movement which was not as good as No 1. Handled well. 3 Hoare's Hansulle You Got It At Glenaffric. Somewhat upright in shoulder, so didn't move so well. Too much hair at elbow exaggerated this. Also, far too much beard spoiled his head. Responsive to handler. 2 Roberts, Brecknock Bleddyn SHCM. Alittle larger in size than 1. Good, harsh coat, moved ok and held his tail erect. 1 Witmond, Ch Boowire Ignite My Fire at Tiltser (Imp Fra). Lovely smart workmanlike dog with a typical Welsh head which was alert and full of expression. Neckline sloped gracefully into his shoulders. Moved soundly both ways for his experienced handler who, again, had presented him to perfection. Res DCC. 2 Sinitsyna, Rus/Blr/Cze/Ltu Ch Elffin AP Gwyddno EW'14 (ATC AQ 02123ITA). Good looking, dog with sound, square appearance. Well presented coat of good colour. Very nice tail set, well on top. Just found No 1 moved better on the day. 3 Avveduti & Sarycheva's Cunnings Boris the Blade (ATC AU00148ITA). Smaller dog, well presented by this experienced kennel. Nice ears carried forward on his square head. Decent coat and colour and moved soundly. 1 Spragg, Westpenn Sugar Mama. Lovely sized pup with excellent natural coat and colour, well presented. His head was full expression and he moved great for his proud owner/handler BP. 2 Riley, Yonichi Splash of Ginge. I thought she was a little wide in front, resulting in movement which was not as good as 1. Nice size with a coat which was harsh and of good colour. Well presented and handled. 3 Ashton's Jymelhia Princess Consuela Kitesprite. Pretty bitch, not quite as mature as the first two yet. I was impressed by her densely black coat and she had a lovely feminine expression. 2 Hoare's Saredon Miss Mystic at Glenaffric. Just not so well presented. Her coat needs a good trim back to make it harder and bring out her colour. Ears were held very high and she was not so well behaved on the move. Needs more show experience. 1 Avveduti & Sarycheva's Cunnings Eternal Ruler (ATC AU2671ITA). Square, sound, correctly-sized, happy bitch. Good tail set and she moved well for her handler RBCC. 2 Shwieren-Hey, Pamirs Breezy (ATC AU02464DEU). A larger bitch with a lovely harsh coat of natural colour. Expressive head, ok on the move but not as good as 1. 3 Jones, Cwnogion Alaw Medi. Anther coat which was of good quality and colour. Nice and square and well handled. 1 Avveduti & Sarycheva, Cunnings Change the Rules (ATC AU02080ITA). Ears well set on a lovely feminine head. Correct size and, once again, well presented and handled by this kennel. 2 Schwieren-Hey, Pamirs Breezy (ATC AU02464DEU). 3 Graham, Stanstead Shining Star. Larger bitch but with a pleasing outline. Good head and ear placement. Good coat texture, presented well and showed ok. 1 Pijonovic, Ch Monaline Lagoon Lee (ATC AT02749SRB). Lovely bitch, typically Welsh. Head and ears great. Presented and handled beautifully. Held your attention as she moved soundly round the ring BCC, BOS & Res BOB. 2 Smeets, Abmeye & Wolters, NL Ch Cinderella of Southern Point (ATC AU02404NLD). Correct size but not as great on the move as No 1. Lovely natural hard coat of good colour. She was alert at all times and well handled. 3 Young & Potts, Kebulak She Devil. A little longer in the back than previous two. Her tail was well set on and she was extremely alert. Well presented by her experienced handler. 1 Thomas, Saredon Desert Bloom at Somerwel Sh CM. Nice size. Harsh coat of good colour. Back a little long. Well behaved and handled. |
