SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE WELKS 11

Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

MPD (2)

1 Francis’ Amaricy Buffalo Soldier, lovely 6 months baby, lots of attributes I like in male, masculine outlook, substance & beautiful puppy coat. Behaved well for youngster although bit tentative & unsettled on move. Strongly considered for BPD. Just lost out on final move. Will watch with interest;

2 Mapson’s Zaraslake Sirocco, older baby but less mature in many ways. Different type to 1. Lots to like, held his own, just needs time.

PD (3)

2 nice youngsters with not much between them but very different in type.

1 Macleary’s Saffini Teenage Sensation, good outline, balanced head, lovely coat of good colour. Lighter in frame. Moved with drive, this & slightly better pigment won class. BPD;

2 Pascoe’s Middlebury Shooting Star, super masculine with profuse coat of good colour & texture, presented well with everything in right place. Just pipped on the day;

3 Gents’ Lyntonlepraz Darbello Lad.

JD (1)

1 O’Hare’s Emalot Mr Happy, typical junior needing to body up & settle in movement, will come with age. Coat maturing nicely falling in soft waves, nice head, eye, pigment, moved well when settled. Handler did well to keep him in check.

PGD (3)

1 Shrive’s Starzak The Groover, stood foursquare, balanced with good head & ears. Coat colour still coming through. Slightly better movement won him through to 1;

2 Frances’ Sawheaten Twasn’t Me, larger. Very much liked head, plenty of substance. Lacked a few finishing touches to complete picture. Coat still needs to mature & movement little erratic;

3 Johnsons’ Garsayno Gold Freeman.

LD (1)

1 Kenneally’s Loofahsa Hakuna Matata, first to move with drive & purpose in profile, presented nice picture on stand, good head & body, soft silky coat showing good colour. Lighter in bone than some but deserved win.

OD (8)

1 Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche, terrier in outline, lovely profile, super pigment complemented by beautifully silky coat, certainly most mature in class, loved small ears. To complete picture would like few more furnishings, wasn’t so settled on move in challenge. Showed to perfection by handler. RCC;

2 Mason’s Emalot Tommy Tango, have liked before & close up, oozes masculinity, plenty of substance, moved with drive, everything where it should be. Just lacking mature jacket;

3 Barrett’s Ch Loofahsa Teenage Dirtbag.

GCD (3)

1 Rogers’ Ch Kizzahla Pompey Royale, have liked before but has never given his all on the day - pleased to say didn’t fail me, was pocket rocket today, best I have seen him go despite now being veteran, strong & masculine, super outline, coat mature & well presented. CC;

2 L Hakuna Matata;

3 Cross’ Starcadia Willow Pickwick.

MPB (2)

1 Rogers’ Kizzahla Dreamsicle, adorable baby, loved head so typical of sire’s kennel, good balance, everything in right place & coat to die for on youngster. Moved well when settled. Should have lot of fun with this one;

2 Smith’s Amaricy Don’t Rock My Boat, compared to 1 a real baby. Very sweet head, nice profile. Little unsettled on move but handler worked hard to contain this. Just needs more time which will come as gets older.

PB (6)

Strong class of lovely young ladies.

1 Satherley’s Silkcroft Colour Of Magic, very pretty & feminine, just finishing puppy career, loved outline, so stylish for one so young, super angles & lovely length of neck. Came across as lacking a little confidence on moved but went well when settled into stride. Gather this is only her 3 show, considered for RCC, must have bright future. BP;

2 Barrett’s Saffini Truly Madly Deeply, different type to 1 completely. Still lots to like, stood foursquare, level topline. Coat of deep colour I’d like to see little more of. Moved true;

3 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Chekina Streaming Sarayu.

JB (2)

1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Roogagh, typical junior, coat starting to change. Square outline, super pigment & held topline on move. Movement little erratic but certainly enjoying her day!

PGB (4)

1 Griffiths’ Manawyddan Brigid, petite & pretty young lady, good profile, nice head & pigment, coat lovely & soft. Colour still needing to come. Best mover in class, keeping profile;

2 Davies’ Brynhir Jumaana Gold Pearl, similar comments to 1 re makeup, beautiful coat. Just pipped on movement, rear little erratic & difficult to assess;

3 Cross’ Wheatawaite Little Ms Muffet.

LB (6)

1 Withington’s Fantasa Blonde Lilley, could have won class on movement alone, super mover showing required long low strides, moving with drive & determination, good profile with tail on top, good angles, handler certainly getting best from her. RCC;

2 Munn’s Snowmeadow Oolla O’Luna, more substance but balanced. Has come on in leaps & bounds since last saw as pretty young baby, sound. Profuse coat I would like to see little more shapely for preference! Movement little unsettled. Handler does well to contain excitable & very happy young lady;

3 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action.

OB (6)

Difficult class with so many different types.

1 Morrey’s Tobamorrey Ain’t I Precious, worthy winner, have seen this mature & develop in so many ways over past few years, today all came together with style, beautiful outline, prettiest of heads, lovely neck & shoulders, super topline & rear angles, coat presented to perfection, soft & silky, moved with determination & drive. CC & BOB;

2 Mason’s Ch Emalot Jean Genie, another of my favourites & didn’t disappoint. Larger but foursquare. Nicely made, coat in good order. Carrying little too much weight unfortunately affecting movement;

3 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Krackers. GCB (1) Cross’ Wheatawaite Little Ms Muffet, solid outline, nice head, good pigment & bite. Coat soft to touch but colour still maturing. Movement OK, well handled.
