SOFT COEATED WHEATEN THREE COUNTIES 09 Judge/s:Mrs E Boak
Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers Trying to be clever I used my phone to record my comments, but unfortunately the technology beat me, so these notes are from memory. Overall I was quite pleased with the entry. Rear movement as usual was a problem & perfect bites with large teeth were not much in evidence. However, one of the main things I noticed was the lack of distinction between the sexes. Coarse, heavy bitches are not attractive or typical however sound they may be. PD (2) 1 Clemons’ Daisymaes Banderos, well grown, 8 months, rather plush coat, good scissor bite with large teeth & masculine head, well proportioned, moved OK though rather fidgety when standing; 2 Boulton’s Amberstar Yellow Submarine, lighter built 8 months old, good head & bite. Not so deep in chest & lighter built all through. JD (2) 1 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, looking beyond the strange haircut, this is a nice enough dog. Good coloured coat with a nice wave, he is the right basic shape. Owner needs to emphasize this; 2 Clarke’s Loofhasa Scaramouche, paler coat, well balanced dog who moved out well; PGD (5) 1 Webster’s Kazeen Too Bright to Bovver, compact, short coupled dog, good coat & colour; 2 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Nilo, well balanced dog with good head, nice outline both standing & on the move. Coat is a good colour but could be better texture; 3 Cooper’s Merriwell Midnite Magic. LD (4) 1 Naylor’s Peteneira P’ticularly Pete with Amaricy, typical well proportioned dog with good coat falling in waves & of a good colour, moved nicely; 2 Tinjoby Running Bear, coat colour could be better though texture is OK. Moved out well; 3 Cross’ Starcadia Willow Pickwick. OD (5) 1 Barrett’s Ch Loofahsa Teenage Dirtbag, loved this dog’s masculine head, good pigment combined with excellent coat colour, nice texture coat, well balanced, moved out well. CC & BOB; 2 Waite’s Weatawaite Golden Willow, compact short coupled dog, good coat & colour. Just preferred head of 1. RCC; 3 Thompson’s Ch Linatina Great Guss. PB (4) 1 Satherley’s Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft, well balanced pup keeping her topline on the move; 2 Cross’ Weatawaite Little Miss Muffet, typical head & coat coming OK. Rather lacks angulation front & rear; 3 Taylor’s Amberstar Eight Days A Week. JB (6) 1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvanace Toppa Totty, feminine & just the right size, well balanced with correct angulation, typical head with good pigment & coat colour, moved around the ring well keeping her topline. With maturity should trouble the best; 2 Davies’ Brynhir Jumaana Gold Pearl, slightly larger & paler in colour then 1. However she is well made & was one of the best movers here; 3 Williams’ Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock. PGB (7) 1 Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, feminine, lovely outline, compact & correct size, correct angulation, stood out as the winner in this class; 2 Hammond & Evans’ Calvanace Boodles, thicker set all through so not so feminine. Good coat & colour & moved well enough; 3 Calvert & Kelly’s Weatawaite Bombay Saphire. LB (8) 1 Emalot Jean Genie, although at the larger end of the scale she is still feminine with a typical head & expression though her nose was a bit off colour at the moment, well proportioned & balanced & could not be denied her place; 2 Keridown Breakdown for Noxa, at the smaller end of the scale, typical & feminine with correct angulation; 3 Dowdy’s Denzilly Toot Sweet. OB (6) 1 Wintrypark Miss Moneypenny for Chekhina, ultra feminine compact bitch with small neat ears, good bite & pigment, silky coat, showing beautifully without being stacked. CC; 2 Naylor’s Kazeen Hot Deception at Amaricy, compact & typical, good topline & tailset, dark eye & large nose, good pigment. Moved OK. RCC; 3 Webster’s Kazeen Too Hot To Rock. EILEEN BOAK |
