Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers

The overall quality was very mixed. There were only a few dogs with really correct coats, many had dull, woolly or harsh coats. The correct Irish coat is shiny & wavy, neither too abundant nor off-standing. Mostly the size was OK, but some too short & with poor front & rear angulation & thus no drive in the movement. These are very common faults in the breed all over the world. Some heavy & short heads but also nice long heads with dark eyes & good pigmentation.

2 Morris’ Canicula Dylan Thomas, elegant dog, beautiful coat. Head planes not quite parallel, could have more angulation behind;

3 Mapson’s Zaraslake Sirocco.

1 Hanna’s Kinaelan Finlandia Finnian, strong masculine dog, well developed, well constructed, moves very well, correct type of coat. Eyes could be darker. CC;

2 Maleary’s Saffini Teenage Sensation, still immature & leggy, needs to body up, needs to change his coat, tail could be higher set.

1 Kenneally’s Loofahsa Hakuna Matata, well balanced, good head, moves very well, decent coat. RCC;

2 Boulton’s Dayshaun Sparkler for Diddidumkins, a shade longer cast. Good topline, well angulated, good head. Coat could be silkier in texture;

3 Carter’s Chloeanco Hunni Dream.

2 Mackenzie’s Linatina Truly Ruly, good size, good shape of head, good topline, well angulated & moves well, decent coat;

2 Tilley’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Hetti Hopscotch at Starzak, good topline, long neck, good tailset. Would prefer her to be a little taller;

3 Walklin’s Ch/Ir/Can Ch Jonaire Kataxin Vava Voom O’Kellynack.

1 Watkins’ Zaraslake Seraphina, strong, well developed, well constructed, colour rather pale, happy character. BP;

2 Ford & McMurray’s Kanjuley Obi The Best, correct Irish coat, short, compact body but in general still very immature, ears a little airy, very promising but needs time;

3 Rogers’ Kizzahla Dreamsicle.

1 Hanna’s Kinaelan Finlandia Finnial, correct coat type, well constructed & well balanced, compact & muscular, excellent behind. A shale wide in front & head could be longer, but very pleasing general picture. CC & BOB;

2 Salisbury’s Killeshin Libaneire, correct Irish coat, good topline, long head & neck, good front, good tailset;

3 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Chekhina Streaming Sarayu.
