My thanks to the members of the club for the honour of judging the 29th Championship show. Thanks also to the officers and committee for their welcome and hospitality, and a very special thanks to my stewards who ensured the ring ran smoothly at all times.
Hind movement is a cause for concern in the breed. Of the 130+ dogs that I judged bad mouths were minimal, some of the dogs were of a paler shade than I prefer but won their classes by virtue of overall soundness and movement.
Class 1 – Special Veteran Dog (2)
1st Tanner: Ch Kariskiye Kyanite Kizmet. 8 years old and carries his years well, in good form, showing and moved well.
2nd Challenor: Ch Starcadia Bardolino. 9 year old in good form & condition, was a little overstretched and that affected his top line, otherwise a very nice dog to go over.
Class 2 – Special Vintage Dog 10+ years (4)
1st Patterson: Ch /IR Ch Amberstar Paperback Writer. Good head, good bone legs and feet, holds his top line when on the move, great quarters and second thigh. In the show off for best veteran peeled back the years and flowed around the ring with great presence and attitude. BVIS
2nd Hammond & Evans : Ch Caidantes Dream Come True at Calvenace. Worthy champion, good head, neck & shoulders, in good coat & condition, showed well.
3rd Whithead: Finchwood Special Style. Good head, good bone, legs & feet. In good coat and condition. Enjoyed his day out.
Class 3 – Minor Puppy Dog (2)
1st Carter: Chloeanco Hunni Dream. Good head and expression, good forehand and top line, very well schooled to the ring. Showed well.
2nd Carter: Chloeanco Hunni Twirls. Lighter in eye than I like and over baited far too much by his very enthusiastic handler, never got settled to move to advantage.
Class 4 – Puppy Dog (4)
1st Taylor & Youlden: Pippajam Break on Through. Good bite, strong foreface, good eye & expression, good forehand, top line, tail set, moved soundly.
2nd Carter: Chloeanco Hunni Dream
3rd Carter: Chloeanco Hunni Twirls.
Class 5 – Junior Dog (7)
1st Salisbury: Orliscwt Bobbin Along. Good head and expression, good neck and shoulder top line, tail set and quarters sound positive action, a shade paler than ideal but his overall construction and soundness won the day.
2nd Boulton: Amberstar Yellow Submarine. Strong foreface good eye, in good coat, good bone, good quarters and tail set.
3rd Paterson: Kellynack The Fantastic Fox. An all-round nice type of dog, good forehand, good bone, legs and feet, good coat.
Class 6 – Special Yearling Dog (4)
1st Whitehead: Shanghai Shoggoth. Powerful foreface with good bite, good eye and ear, good neck and shoulders, good top line, moved and showed well.
2nd Cooper: Merriwell Midnite Magic. A bigger dog, good head, would prefer darker eye, good body and today not settled on the move.
3rd Shrive: Starzak The Groover. Very pale in colour, good for overall type, make & shape in body weight.
Class 7 – Novice Dog (3)
1st Taylor & Youlden: Pippajam Break on Through
2nd Hart: Weatawaite Little Boy Blue. Good headed, short backed dog with good quarters and tail set, good second thigh, showed well
3rd Shrive: Starzak The Groover
Class 8 – Graduate Dog (5)
1st Whitehead: Shanghai Shoggoth
2nd Glew: Wentloog Mozambique at Braelochyen. Good head and expression, good top line, quarters and tail set, good second thigh, moved well
3rd Coulbert: Janey Jimjams Jazzbo. Of good general type, but today was poor on the move.
Class 9 – Post Graduate Dog (1)
1st Cooper: Merriwell Midnite Magic
Class 10 – Mid Limit Dog (3)
1st Cross: Starcadia Willow Pickwick. Strong powerful foreface, good eye, good bone legs and feet, good quarters and tail set, moved soundly, showed well.
2nd Carter: Chloeanco Solar Infinity: Good general conformation, good quarters and tail set moved and showed well.
3rd Clarke: Loofahsa Scaramouche. Head of good proportions, light in eye, and poor hind movement.
Class 11 – Limit Dog (6)
1st House & Lampkin: Glendowan Going For Gold. Stallion type dog with good head, neck and shoulders, good bone, legs & feet, good top line, good quarters and tail set, moved soundly.
2nd Lawrence: Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo. Ideal for size, good head, bone legs and feet, good body, best of coats, good quarters & tail set.
3rd Bolt: Whitevale Prince of Thieves: Made up a trio of nice dogs, good in head, neck and shoulders, top line, in good coat and condition, was very well presented and handled.
Class 12 – Open Dog (10)
1st CC, BOB, BIS, Dunhill: Ch Fantasa Blonde Kaos. Dog of an ideal size with good head proportions, good bite, eye and ear, good neck, top line, quarters and tail set, good angulation and good second thigh, great extension striding out and good drive behind, superbly handled throughout. One of the few dogs that was moved at a pace that suited the dog and not the handler.
2nd Res CC Ford & McMurray: Ch/IR Ch Kanjuley Kygwenethan ShCM. I liked their 9 year old stallion dog very much, good head powerful foreface, good eye and ear, good neck and shoulder, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, tail set and quarters, a sound moving dog, could have been moved better to advantage.
3rd Munn: Ch Snowmeadow Jazzy Jacob JW Shcm. A dog that I have previously awarded a CC in no way disgraced by the two above. Stallion type dog with good head, neck and shoulders, top and tail set, excellent coat, sound throughout.
Class 13– Special Veteran Bitch 7-9 years (5)
1st Munn: IR Ch Snowmeadow Isabella Ingles. Good bite, eye and ear, good body, bone, legs and feet, lovely coat & colour, good top line & tail set. Big quarters, good second thigh.
2nd Carter: Chloeanco Wish Upon A Star. 9 year old enjoying her day out, a worthy champion in good form.
3rd Pascoe: Jesiwel Dream Chaser For Middlebury. Of sound overall make and shape, showed and moved soundly.
Class 14 – Special Vintage Bitch 10 + years (4)
1st Munn: Ch / IR Ch Snowmeadow Feebee Friday JW. 11 years old, good head, in great coat and good body weight for a lady of her years, good quarters, sound.
2nd Thackray: Acetrips Chinadoll. Irish type, good head and expression, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, moved and showed well.
3rd Carter: Chloeanco Winter Jasmine. 12 years, good expression, good bone, legs and feet. Good top line, showed well.
Class 15 –Minor Puppy Bitch (4)
1st Munn: Smowmeadow Oolla O’Luna. Good head, neck and shoulders, Good bone, legs and feet, good quarters and tail set. Very typical of this kennels type all through.
2nd Watkins: Chloeanco Hunni Caress At Zaraslake. In good order, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, tail set & quarters.
3rd Howe: Stevelyn Darling Friday. 7 Months puppy, very raw, sweet and effeminate, good general conformation, should make up into a nice bitch.
Class 16 – Puppy Bitch (4)
1st Withington: Fantasa Blonde Lilley. Sweet headed puppy with good neck and shoulders, good top line, quarters and tail set, moved and showed well, will look forward to seeing this one in 18 months when she has matured and tightened up.
2nd Munn: Smowmeadow Oolla O’Luna
3rd Noyes: Pippajam Midnight Rose. Good head, good bone legs and feet, of good general type. Well handled
Class 17 – Junior Bitch (8)
1st Salisbury: Orliscwt Esmereldaisy. Of excellent Irish type, with good head and expression, good neck and shoulder, good top line, good tail set and quarters, paler in shade than is ideal, sound as a bell.
2nd Glew: Calvernace Hazy Days at Braelochyen: Good head, neck and shoulder, good top line. This bitch if Irish type was well handled and presented.
3rd Satherley: Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft. Very well presented with good head, neck and shoulders, good body, failed behind.
Class 18 – Special Yearling Bitch (8)
1st Williams: Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock. Very promising young bitch, good bite, eye, ear, good neck and shoulder, bone, legs and feet, good top line, quarters and tail set, good angulation & second thigh, moved well.
2nd Atyeo: Glendown Guiding Star To Kanjuley. Good head, good bone, legs and feet, good body, the best of quarters& tail set, very sound all through.
3rd Thoburn: Emalot Jilly Jitterbug At Northridge. Head of good proportions, good neck & shoulder, good bone legs and feet.
Class 19 – Novice Bitch (7)
1st Williams: Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock
2nd Noyes: Pippajam Midnight Rose
3rd Salisbury: Orliscwt Lillee The Pink. Irish type, sound all through, good head & expression, good forehand top line, quarters and set on, good second thigh, paler than ideal.
Class 20 – Graduate Bitch (6)
1st Williams: Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock
2nd Hammond & Evans: Calvernace Toppa Totty. Bitch of ideal size with good head, good bone legs and feet, good top line and tail set.
3rd Moran: Abiqua Wild In A Satin Sash – Efeminate bitch with good expression, top line, quarters and tail set, showed well.
Class 21 –Post Graduate Bitch (8)
1st Howes: Daiseymaes Arrabella. Good head, neck and shoulders, bone Legs and feet, good tail set and quarters, moved and shown to advantage throughout, has all the essential to become a champion.
2nd Smith: Janey Jimjams Jasmina: Close up to winner in every department and could change places on another day.
3rd Barrett: Denzilly Truly Scrumptious at Saffini: Good head neck and shoulder, good bone legs and feet, in good body weight and muscle tone, sound
Class 22 – Mid Limit Bitch
1st Ford & McMurray: Kanjuley Katie Scarlet. Came under me as a six or seven month pup, I loved her then and still do, Irish type, quality head, good bite, eye & ear, good expression, best of neck & shoulders, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, tail set, is well angulated behind, moved and showed well. Should gain top honours.
2nd Ewing: Canicula The Eleven Queen: Good head, neck and front, good top line, in good form, coat and condition, showed well of good size.
3rd Killyshawk Keira. Irish type, good head, neck and shoulder, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, sound
Class 23 –Limit Bitch (11)
1st Ford & Mc Murray: Kanjuley Con Moto. Irish type, good bite, good eye, good head, good firm top line with good quarters and tail set, good front and excellent bone, legs and feet, very good extension in front, sound positive action behind.
2nd Ross: Whilizias Head or Tail. Good head and expression, good neck and shoulder, good bone, legs and feet, shortest back I saw on the day, also had great quarters and tail set, moved soundly and at correct pace, carrying a little weight I thought and gave appearance of being cobby in type.
3rd Grime: Tobamorrey Ain’t No Angel. Good head, neck and shoulder, good bone, legs and feet, good top line, tail set, in good coat and nice form.
Class 24 – Open Bitch (9)
1st Munn: Ch/IR Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly JW ShCM. I awarded this bitch a CC three years ago, now a six year old and is still every bit as good, quality and substance all through, with super coat, sound. CC, Res.BIS
2nd Howes: Ch Emalor English Rose, another that I have judged before and one that finished in the same place as she did today behind the same bitch. I said then I wish I has two CC’s to award and the same applies today. Handled to advantage at all times. Res CC
3rd O’Sullivan& Harding: Wintrypark Miss Moneypenny for Chekhina. In good form and well handled, good head, neck, shoulder, top line, tail set and quarters.
