SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 10

Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

I was disappointed with the overall quality in dogs, the bitches being far stronger in most departments, especially muscle. Movement seemed erratic, possibly due to the floor surface which was not ‘Wheaten friendly’.

PD (2)

1 Hanna’s Kinaelan Finlandia Finnian, just 6 months, nice Irish type, well balanced, good outline, dark eye, perfect dentition, strode out well;

2 O’Hare’s Emalot Mister Happy, nice shape, lovely head, good coat. Very unsettled.

JD (6,2)

1 Walklin’s Kellynack Zoom Zoom, well balanced young man, lovely coat of good texture & colour, well proportioned head, good mouth. Unsettled standing but looked good on the move;

2 Simpson’s Loofhasa Bumble Bee, nice youngster with some potential. Somewhat unsettled, still awaiting more colour & not as steady in front.

PGD (1) A.

LD (6,1)

Tough class, all had merits, all had faults. Movement erratic possibly due to the floor.

1 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, didn’t recognise this dog, amazing improvement since I last saw him. Well balanced, good size & square, dark eye, correct mouth, well handled to get the most out of his movement. CC;

2 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Nilo, good specimen, close to 1 in many respects. Not quite the coat & not as steady behind.

OD (5)

1 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kaos, well balanced, good square outline, appealing head, excellent coat texture, moved very well. Would have liked a bit more substance. RCC;

2 Walklin’s Ch/Ir/Can Ch Jonaire Kataxin Vava Voom, a dog I admire greatly, the attributes are all there. He didn’t look or more as I know he can.

PB (8,1)

What a delightful class, full of lovely little ladies, pity there couldn’t be more winners.

1 Watkins’ Zaraslake Bellissima, beautiful youngster, well balanced, good square shape, lovely angulation, good length of neck into correct shoulder, moved very well. BP:

2 Wassall’s Emalot Miss Magic, very close decision, all the attributes & would be a worthy winner another day.

JB (4)

1 Bennett’s Fantasa Blonde Matilda, heading a lovely class, beautiful youngster, nice square outline with all the correct angles, neck, shoulder, topline, moved very well;

2 McFerran’s Kirktonhill Look No Further, looks only a baby, lovely bitch, really shone on the move.

PGB (6)

Nice class, all had merit.

1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvanace Toppa Totty, lovely outline, head, neck, topline & angles all fit the Standard, coat of ripe wheat & excellent on the move;

2 Ewing’s Loofahsa Amareuse, a shade longer than 1 but many positive attributes. Came good on the move.

LB (13,1)

A good class all round, lots of difficult decisions to make.

1 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action, all over a very nice girl, head, neck, shoulder, coat of good colour, performed best on the move;

2 Walken’s Buckwheat Jadis O’Kellynack, not quite on top form but liked her balance, good head, nice angles, moved well when settled.

OB (8,2)

1 Dowdy’s Ch Denzilly Toot Sweet, my top winner from first sight, beautiful bitch in superb condition, great coat, lovely colour, a treat to look at from any angles & great on the move. CC & BOB;

2 Mason’s Emalot Jean Genie, an old favourite, altogether lovely. Couldn’t quite take top billing but a worthy runner-up. RCC.
