It was an honour and pleasure to judge the breed at this historic event. I thank the Kennel Club for the opportunity and the exhibitors for their support. The Irish weather excelled for once and made it a very enjoyable weekend but unfortunately some of the dogs lost their sparkle by the end of the day . The mixture of types certainly made it a challenge and some difficult decisions had to be made bearing in mind this was a Crufts qualifying show and judged to the English Kennel Club Standard.

Minor Puppy Dog: 0 entries

Puppy Dog: (1)

1. Salisbury’s Orliscwt Bobbin Along. Nice type, well boned. Balanced head, good bite. Level topline and tailset , moved freely. Just needs time to complete the picture.

Junior Dog: (2)

Difference in type is most obvious at this age, these 2 could not be more contrasting.

1. Coulbert’s Janeyjimjams Jazzbo. Well proportioned head, correct bite, did not use ears to advantage. Well placed shoulders, level topline & good tailset. Moved freely. Profuse coat needs time to mature in colour & texture.

2. Kehoe’s Killeshin Hogan. Well constructed, Good head, bite, ears & pigment. Moved with reach & drive when settled. Preferred tail set of 1. Coat promising but needs even more time!

Post Graduate Dog: 2

1. Noble’s Pippajam One and Only. Compact dog, nice size. Good head, bite and pigment. Well angulated shoulders and rear. Good depth of chest. Level topline, short coupled. Moved a little close.

2. Withheld

Limit Dog: 1

1. Hanna’s Kinaelan Quietly Does It Lovely type, nice head and good ear set. Correct bite and excellent pigment. Well placed shoulders, level topline, a little narrow on chest but has time to mature.

Open dog: 9 (1 abs)

1 Dalton’s Ir Ch. Feanaro Niallan Naomhan (Imp.NDL) CC & BOB Lovely example of type, upstanding terrier. Nice size, compact and well balanced all through. Masculine head, good bite, correct pigment. Level topline, short coupled and good tailset. Moved freely . Profuse coat of lovely texture, a little pale at present but colour coming through. Was delighted to see him take Reserve Best in Show where he took command of the ring. Congratulations to all concerned.

2. Ford & McMurray’s Ch/Ir Ch Kanjuley Kygwenethan ShCM Res.CC
Another good example of type with correct coat colour and texture. Balanced head, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders and good rear angulation. Lovely coat colour and texture. Moved freely carrying his years well.

3 Mackenzie’s Linatina Truly Ruly

Minor Puppy Bitch: 2

Once again two contrasting types which will be interesting to see when mature.

1. Taylor’s Amberstar Eight Days a Week . Small compact, well balanced. Good layback of shoulder, level topline & tail set. Profuse coat of good colour and texture. Moved with reach and drive, Best Puppy. really held her own in the big ring.

2. Mackenzie’s Linatina Fair Verona. Another promising young girl, Balanced head, good pigment and bite, moved freely, just preferred shoulders of 1. Coat needs time but shows signs of good colour with high sheen.

Puppy Bitch: 1 ( absent)

Junior Bitch: 3

1. Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action. Balanced head, flat skull good stop & bite.Lovely reach of neck, well angulated front & rear. Profuse coat, hope colour will develop as she matures.

2. Kehoe’s Killeshin Gael. Promising girl, good layback of shoulder and correct hind angulation. Correct bite, moved with reach and drive but was just not happy today.

3. Witheld

Post Graduate Bitch 4 (1 abs)

1. Ford & McMurray’s Kanjuley Katie Scarlet. Nicely made, Good bite and pigment, flat skull. Good reach of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Well set tail held in gentle arc.
Moved freely. Coat maturing well.

2. Salisbury’s Killeshin Ceara Another nice type, good head but would not use her ears. well ribbed, level topline, good tailset just preferred angulation of 1. Coat nice texture showing signs of colour developing. Strode out well .

3. Moynihan’s Parkalissene Bebhinn

Limit Bitch: 3

1. Hanna’s Kinaelan Quietly Confident CC. A young girl with ring presence, she lived up to her name. Good head, bite and pigment. Good reach of neck, level topline. Correct angulation front and rear. Coat lovely texture has time for colour to come. Moved with reach and drive .

2. Ford & McMurray’s Kanjuley Con Moto. Another nicely made girl with a lot to offer. Lovely coat with good colour and silky texture. Moved freely but lacked the enthusiasm of 1.

3. Taylor’s Stevelyn Kissin Cousin with Amberstar

Open Bitch: 6.

A good class of quality bitches but I think the heat was beginning to tell by the time we reached this class.

1. Munn’s Ch/IrCh Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly. Res.CC. Balanced from head to toe. Level topline and good tailset. Well sprung ribs and well angulated. Coat nice texture and colour. Moved with reach and drive but without the panache of CC winner. Maybe the heat was beginning to tell.

2. Evans-Barry & Barry’s IR/SW/GER Ch. Villa Rosas Jill Na Lausitz CW08 Lovely type. Good head with flat skull & well set ears. Well angulated front and rear. Slighter in body than 1. moved well. Lovely coat texture and colour but felt the overall picture was spoilt by too much leg hair.

3. Tilley’s Snowmeadow Hetti Hopscotch at Starzak ShCM
