SOFT COATED WHEATEN BOURNEMOUTH 10 Judge: Mr F Kane SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 10 Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers I did enjoy the entry. I tried to find dogs of balance, free from exaggeration & with the coat requirements of the breed. I found a lack of chest to be quite commonplace, often resulting in loose elbows on the move & rear movement was sometimes disappointing. However I found plenty of quality exhibits, Limit & OB classes in particular had strong line-ups. PD 1 Emalot Mister Happy, 7 months, excellent temperament, correct length of body to height ratio, good head & eye. Ears a touch heavy. Needs a little more angulation & can tighten up generally. Has promise. JD 1 Chloeancoe Honey Dream, good size, balance & with good texture to coat, head of good proportions & good eye & correct ears, well angulated. Can tighten in front movement; 2 Sawheaten Twasn’t Me, bigger dog, tending to roach his back & lose his outline. Good proportions. Coat rather woolly. Strong head. Ears a little heavy. Can settle in movement, tail rather tight. PGD 1 Weatawaite Little Boy Blue, good body proportions, coat & colour can clear yet. Drives well & has good length of stride. Can be a little neater in elbows. Good ears. A little cheeky & his eye colour detracts; 2 Amberstar Yellow Submarine, good size & proportions, but bunching himself up & not really happy with proceedings. Has a better head than 1. Ears a little big & heavy & needs to fill out in chest & rib. Coat a little harsh. LD 1 Loofasa Hakuna Matata, lovely proportions & the best stride in profile, holding an excellent shape, good head & ears. A little close in rear. Good coat, scored in carriage over 2 Snowmeadow Numinous Nilo, lovely type all through. I preferred his head to 1 & he has a beautiful coat. Best rear in the class, but not as coordinated going round & this made the difference; 3 Kinaelan Quietly Does It. OD 1 Ch Fantasa Blonde Kaos, excellent movement & balanced all through, wonderful tailset & carriage, balanced head, good eye colour & ears, excellent chest, good eye. Just needs a touch more body & this was the deciding factor for BOB; 2 Ch Kizzhala Pompey Royale, 6 years, slightly bigger stamp, but correct all through. Good ribbing & chest, very good movement. Winner just had a little more cleanness in stride going round, but I liked him a lot; 3 Ch Snowmeadow Jazzy Jacob. PB 1 Zaraslake Bellissima, 6 months baby, but what a prospect. Beautifully made & shows this on the move. Little to change apart from the need to grow on & has plenty of time for that; 2 Emalot Little Miss Star, 7 months, more forward & a lovely colour. Has a lot of quality, but just a shade long for balance. Excellent head, eye & ears, good rear. Can tighten a little in front; 3 Steefsgrace Dutch Kiss by Dacsol. JB 1 Snowmeadow Dolla O’Luna, top size bitch, lovely type & balance, beautiful coat, colour & length of stride, excellent head, good eye. Needs a touch more confidence to use her tail better, but loved her type & full of quality; 2 Chloeanco Hunni Caress for Zaraslake, shorter backed & I preferred the balance & coat of 1. Good head & ears. Tail a little tight, preferred coat texture of 1; 3 Amaricy Femme Fatal. PGB 1 S Dolla O’Luna; 2 Calvenacre Top Totty, lovely bitch, took my eye immediately for her balance & outline held on the move, feminine & full of quality. Preferred her size to 1, but not quite as accurate at either end on the move, but with maturity will make a lovely bitch; 3 A Femme Fatal. LB 1 Glendowan Muffin McLay, stood out here for her balance, coat & movement, lovely quality all through, feminine, good bone & rib, excellent chest & lovely coat, head of excellent proportions, pressed hard in the challenge, I liked her immensely; 2 Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action, good bitch of correct proportions, excellent rear. Not quite the coat texture or front action of 1, but very good type & balance; 3 Glendowan Guiding Star to Kanjuley. OB Excellent class with quality right through. 1 Denzilly Toot Sweet, beautiful for size, balance & movement. Took my eye immediately for her balance & clean stride of good length & perfect topline, lovely head, eye, coat & colour. CC & BOB. Became a ch on the day & was shortlisted in the group; 2 Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jilly Bean Jilly, 6 years, a great favourite & has won a couple of BIS under me in the past, a model for type & balance, beautiful coat, like all of the dogs from this kennel a lovely mover with long clean stride & good width between the hocks. Here I thought her just a little heavy in rib & body & that was the deciding factor against the younger bitch who was in sparkling form. RCC; 3 Ch Kinaelan Quietly Confident. |
