SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 09

Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

I was delighted with the quality of the entry. There were some really nice dogs behind the winners. Movement was on the whole really good. Most coats were of lovely texture & just the right amount of curl. Colour however was very patchy, not many having the correct colour. However I felt that it is only the icing on the cake & I did not feel I could unduly penalise really well constructed dogs for colour alone.

PD (1)

1 Boulton’s Amberstar Yellow Submarine, nice puppy, super front & feet, good body, topline & turn of stifle, excellent mover. Would like a shade shorter loin.

JD (4,1a)

1 Coulbert’s Janeyjimjams Jazzbo, two very promising youngsters in this class. Pleasing head, excellent neck & shoulders, very short coupled, good turn of stifle, very sound. Lacking in colour at present, just needs time for this;

2 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, lovely young dog, beautiful colour, nice head, good front, neck & shoulders, moved soundly. Not quite a short up in loin as 1. Little separated these two;

3 Atkins’ Kizzahla Knockout Punch.

PGD (3)

1 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo, just needs to settle down. Nice head, good neck, super topline & turn of stifle, tail well set-on, pleasing colour, promising, moved well;

2 Noble’s Pippajam One And Only, good head, nice neck & shoulders, good turn of stifle, very nice in profile & balance. Very uncertain in hind movement;

3 Cooper’s Merriwell Midnite Magic.

LD (6,2)

1 House & Lampkin’s Glendowan Going For Gold, good head, nice eye & well carried ears, very short coupled, good body & topline, pleasing turn of stifle, nicely balanced, super mover, excellent colour;

2 Bott’s Whitevale Prince Of Thieves, nice head & eye, nice neck & good shoulders, good topline & turn of stifle, beautiful front mover. Needs to firm up behind. Promising young dog, shade lacking in colour;

3 Kenneally’s Loofahsa Hakuna Matata.

OD (10,1)

This was a super class & I was truly spoilt for choice.

1 Walklin’s Ch/Can Ch Jonaire Kataxin Va Va Voom O’Kellynac, most beautiful moving dog from every angle, lovely head, neck & shoulders, super hindquarters, excellent tailset, lovely dog, well presented & handled. CC;

2 Bristow’s Lilwaukee Leroy Brown for Avard, beautiful dog, lovely head & expression, good neck, super topline & bend of stifle, good body, moved really well coming & going. Just thought 1 was fractionally shorter in loin. RCC;

3 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kaos.

PB (4)

1 Satherley’s Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft, lovely puppy, pleasing head & eye, super coat, topline & turn of stifle, well laid back shoulder, super mover. BP;

2 Morrey’s Tobamorrey Aint I Precious, really beautiful promising puppy with all the essentials, just fractionally less mature than 1. Beautifully sound & well balanced;

3 Taylor’s Amberstar Eight Days A Week.

JB (7,1)

1 Howe’s Stevelyn Memphis to Vegas, lovely feminine head, good neck & shoulders, short level topline & excellent hindquarters, good front, in good coat, moved well, a future star;

2 Smith’s Janeyjimjams Jasmina, good young bitch, nice head, good front & neck, lovely hindquarters, fractionally longer in loin than 1. Two lovely youngsters;

3 Walklin’s Buckwheat Jadis O’Kellynack.

PGB (5,1)

1 Atyeo’s Glendowan Guiding Star to Kanjuley, lovely head, good neck & shoulders, excellent topline, super hindquarters, lovely coat texture, good tailset, very sound mover;

2 Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, very nice bitch, good head & eye, pleasing turn of stifle, excellent body. Just would keep pacing here;

3 Calvert & Kelly’s Weatawaite Bombay Saphire.

LB (6,2)

1 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Krackers, beautifully constructed, pleasing head, lovely neck & shoulders, short coupled, good topline & turn of stifle, tail well set on. Coat of good colour but rather too profuse. Sound. RCC;

2 Hanney’s Lilwaukee Veni Vidi Vici, pleasing head, lovely neck & shoulders, short coupled, super turn of stifle, super handling & presentation. Preferred front movement of 1;

3 Watkin & Snyder’s Peteneira Peters Promise.

OB (8,2)

1 Noble’s Ch Pippajam Gold Leaf, a most beautiful bitch in a class of her own, lovely head, super neck & shoulders, lovely front & feet, topline & super turn of stifle, tail well set on, short coupled, totally balanced & sound, coat of good texture & presentation excellent. Could be slightly lighter in colour. CC & BOB:

2 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Wintrypark Miss Moneypenny for Chekhina, good head, lovely topline, tail set & turn of stifle, short coupled & very sound, good balance, should always be near the top;

3 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly.
