SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BLACKPOOL 10

Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

I found this breed very hard in that there were so many types & variations, that one was needing to compromise on so many classes. There was a worrying number of poor dentition with irregular tooth placements in the lower jaw. Also, a couple of males had sub-luxating hock joints which give weak action. Coat colours were very varied but that can be due to age & I certainly did not make placings on coats. The other concern was the number of upright shoulder placements or short upper arms.

PD (3,1a)

1 Johnson’s Garsayno Gold Freeman, well grown with pleasing head proportions, excellent pigment. Would like a little better forehand angulation & a stronger hock action. In nice coat, moved with energy. BP;

2 O’Hare’s Emalot Mister Happy, promises well for the future & now needs to gain more experience in order to show off his qualities, pleased on head, eye, dentition & pigment, pleasing rear angulation with strong hock.

JD (0).

PGD (3,2)

1 Fletcher’s Keridown Shaken Not Stirred, of pleasing balance, good head proportions, nice eye & expression, good on forehand & body is developing well, good stifle & hock, coat still to deepen in shade but is of nice texture. When settled, moved soundly.

LD (4)

1 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, balanced overall, good head proportions, nice eye & good bite, nice forehand placing, body well developed, sound rear with good stifle & hock, pleasing quality, moved soundly & well;

2 Noble’s Pippajam One And Only, quite pleasing balance, good head proportions, quite pleasing forehand, nice body, sound rear, moved with ease;

3 Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche.

OD (4)

1 Dunhill’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Kaos, of pleasing construction & balance, good on head, well placed shoulder, nice firm body & strong loin, well formed rear with good stifle & hock, pleasing jacket quality, sound & true mover. CC;

2 Munn’s Snowmeadow Jazzy Jacob, fraction longer in couplings than 1 but of overall sound construction. Nice head, eye & dentition, matured body, well formed rear with good strong hock, pleasing coat quality, sound mover. RCC;

3 Bristow’s Lilwaukee Leroy Brown for Avard.

PB (3,1)

1 Axon’s Noxa Miss Demeanour, promising for the future, nice head, good forehand, body coming on well, very sound rear, pleasing jacket, moved well;

2 Brown’s Loofahsa Honeybee at Carkbark, quite energetic, giving her handler a hard time, nice eye & dentition, moderate forehand, good ribbing, quite good rear, moved easily but needs to settle more.

JB (4)

1 Watkins’ Chloeanco Hunni Caress for Zaraslake, very sound & balanced, pleasing head, eye & dentition, good forehand, body & loin, excellent rear construction with good stifle & strong hock, quality coat, moved soundly & very well;

2 Withington’s Fantasa Blonde Lilley, pleased on head proportions & dentition, clean front, good body & strong loin, nice rear, in good jacket, moved easily & with strength;

3 Noyes’ Pippajam Midnight Rose.

PGB (8)

An extremely assorted collection for type, construction & upright upper arms together with dentition.

1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Toppa Totty, stood out for her balance & construction, good head, eye & dentition, well placed forehand, good body & strong loin, very sound rear, in nice textured coat, moved soundly & well;

2 Switzer’s Starcadia Ocean Destiny, on first sight thought she was so typy & examination proved how well balanced & constructed she is. Sadly she had been frightened just before entering the ring & this affected action & particularly tail carriage;

3 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action.

LB (9)

1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Boodles, typy, balance & in lovely jacket, balanced head, excellent dentition & pigment, good neck into well placed shoulder, firm, mature body with strong loin, well formed & sound rear, pleasing coat quality, moved soundly & well. CC & BOB;

2 Ewing & Canicula The Elven Queen, balanced & sound, good head properties, strong neck, good forehead & body, lovely coat quality & colour, very sound rear, gave good action;

3 Brown’s Chymidas Linel Stardancer at Carkbark.

OB (7)

Assorted class for sizes & type.

1 Axon’s Keridown Breakthrough for Noxa, balanced, sound & well coated, nice eye & dentition, good forehand, firm body with strong topline, excellently muscled & well formed rear, pleasing coat, good sound action. RCC;

2 Tilley’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Hetti Hopscotch at Starzak, fraction longer cast than 1, sound & well constructed, good on head & forehand, well ribbed body, very pleasing sound rear, good coat texture, moved soundly & well;

3 Dowdy’s Denzilly Toot Sweet.
