I was pleased with the standard of the entry. There was only one disappointing mouth. Coats overall were varying degrees of clear rich wheat shades with minimal or no brindling however very dark beards are creeping in which hinders true expression. Correct coat presentation is unique from other terrier breeds in that the standard clearly stipulates presentation should be unexaggerated particularly in the head. Excessive coat detracts as much as over stylising. Both were evidenced. To present a strong natural outline with out exaggeration takes skill. My greatest concern is the deterioration in movement of the long low, sweeping graceful reach and drive. High flying, high lifting movement may be eye-catching but is incorrect. Today some beautiful classic movement was demonstrated. VETERAN 1 MR & MRS S Munn Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly JW SHCM A quality outstanding bitch. Much has been said about this iconic bitch and there is little I can add. Her lovely lay of shoulder combined with correct �spring of rib is so beautifully coupled into superb near perfect rear quarters giving her the desired long low graceful sweeping movement �much absent in some modern wheatens. A template for quality construction. Today her excessive shawl and minimum presentation style belies the quality hidden underneath. At almost 11 years old, this is canine engineering at its best. �A pleasure to go over. BV JUNIOR DOG 1 Mr S & Mrs B Howes Daisymaes Enforcer This handsome young buck (17 mths) has much going for him. Fully up to size. He has a commanding presence and moves enthusiastically around the ring. Correct coat presentation gives him a strong defining outline. Coat development and colour is age appropriate and clearing nicely. Excellent set on sits well over strong well angulated quarters. Holds his top line well. �Beard blacker than I'd like. Still rangy due to age resulting in his front movement was less positive than I ve seen. Would prefer a firmer front foot fall. I'm sure with maturity he will have his day. �Much to like, just needs time. Skilfully and assertively handled. RBD POSTGRADUATE DOG 1 Mr & Mrs R JOHNSTONE Whitevale Motorway Madness A short coupled, pleasingly unexaggerated, well boned, compact 2 yr young dog of rich wheaten colour. Of correct size. Coat developing nicely. Strong masculine head, good pigmentation, good reach of neck, lay of shoulder, well sprung ribs, firm top line and set on. Well angulated, powerful quarters enabled him to move easily with plenty of drive. He scored on his overall flowing, graceful elegant movement marred slightly today by being just a tad close behind, allowances were given attributing to immaturity. BD BOS OPEN DOG 1 MRS E SHRIVE Starzak The Groover Lovely coloured square, unexaggerated, solid compact handsome dog of pleasing type. Balanced throughout and lovely correct presentation with coat falling in abundant loose open curls and waves gives this dog a quality outline. Well constructed, plenty of substance, excelling in head, well ribbed back. Won on movement. 2 MS L MATTI & MS A OMITOGUN Frontline Mr. Feelgood Another strikingly handsome dog. Stunningly coated of the richest colour with lustrous waves to die for gives this dog more than a touch of glamour. Loved his head and pigmentation though beard darker than I d like. Very compact and short coupled. A sunny outgoing dog full of personality with plenty going for him. Lost out on front movement. Very fit, in full bloom and tiptop condition. GOOD CITIZEN 1 MR & MRS G HUGHLOCK Bargehouse Minstrel Boy Happy to see this Good Citizen in this position. Finer in type with narrower head, with good reach of neck and excellent colour. An ideal perfect companion dog. Very businesslike in his movement and enjoying his day out. Correct presentation. PUPPY BITCH 1 MRS E SHRIVE Emalot Santa Maria This pretty little darling bitch of just 6 months and I week showed her socks off. �Very promising baby of delightful type. Coat looking encouraging at roots bodes well, already developing a lovely curl and wave often not present �in youngsters. Correct shoulders gave her one of the truest front movements present today. She impressed me striding out with her lovely low reach and sweet disposition. Pleasing good sensitive handling bought the best out in her. BP 2 MRS B PHILLIPS & MR A GULLICK Jaeva Just Peachy NAF TAF Close, strong competition from this quality balanced well constructed bitch. Correct size and of sound construction. Very much a baby, lived up to her name with a clear, rich coat colour. Excellent pigmentation. Lost out due to over stylising of the head emphasised her intense black beard which was much darker than I like for age. Skilfully handled. Moved well. JUNIOR BITCH 1 MR & MRS R COOPER Kanjuley Scarlet Ribbons Fully up to size, well boned bitch of good colour and correctly presented. Excellent reach of neck blends well into quality shoulder, straight strong front producing good positive reaching front movement. A shade long cast, not the coat colour or texture of No 2 but just held the edge today on more flowing movement. Close decision. 2 MR & MRS P MALEARY Wheaten Rebels Them There Eyes Ultra feminine bitch of a finer pleasing type. Oozes elegance. Lovely developing coat of excellent colour and texture for age. Correct presentation. Lovely expression, fine head, good reach of neck. Short coupled with good set on, held her topline well, but never really settled. Not showing her best today, possibly missing her usual handler, made her difficult to assess. Considerately handled. Not the reach of No1. Full of promise, I m sure she will have a bright future. One to watch. POSTGRADUATE BITCH 1 MR & MRS P HERBERT Calvenace She s The One at Julibidd A beautiful balanced compact bitch of lovely proportions who ticked all the boxes. Fully square, very feminine with promising colour and waves developing. Correct presentation. Excelled in head, good clean neck, shoulders well laid back, excellent front assembly with good angles, well ribbed and nicely coupled with good set on. Very positive movement with strong, low reach and drive. Lovely sunny disposition, expressive uses her ears well, I liked her very much. RBB 2 MR & MRS I WARDLE Saffini One And Only Much to like about this bitch. Strong wheaten colour, correctly presented with strong well defined outline yet not over stylised. Well bodied, compact short coupled, well ribbed back, well angulated giving plenty of drive behind using her hocks well. LIMIT BITCH 1 MR & MRS S MUNN Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari JW SHCM A pretty, pretty feminine bitch with an air of glamour and touch of class. Many of her mother s (BV) attributes apply also to her. Compact, beautifully coupled, excellently constructed exhibit. Fully square and balanced throughout with plenty of heart room. With correct angles fore and aft. By far the best moving exhibit today. Her effortless, low graceful, easy movement secured her today's top spot. Well bodied and carrying excessive coat which hindered rather than enhanced her outline. Would like to see her �minimalist presentation style improved and outline defined to reveal the top quality bitch hidden underneath. Plenty of loose open curls here. BB BOB 2 MR & MRS I WARDLE Saffini Yours Truly Lovely feminine bitch, correctly presented. Excelled in coat texture and colour. Short back, short coupled, well angulated. In full bloom and hard condition. Another quality bitch, Fully square and balanced. Used her ears to her advantage OPEN BITCH 1 MR & MRS S MUNN Snowmeadow Oolla O Luna Balanced well proportioned, well boned bitch, fully up to size. Carrying excessive coat which detracted from her movement. Good depth of brisket. Good strong, well angulated rear quarters gave her this kennel s trade mark, easy powerful drive but not so positive in front today possibly due to carrying more body than the ideal. Good clear colour. 2 MR & MRS N BRISTOW Kellynack Viva La Passione For Avard A pleasing sized bitch with clear coat of good colour and waves. Mouth fair. Excelled in pigmentation.
