SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE RICHMOND 17

What a joy it is to judge Soft Coated Wheatens, such lovely temperaments- happy dogs and sporting exhibitors. I was pleased with the coat texture and colour overall, shoulders remain a problem though unfortunately not confined to this breed, similarly movement could be improved. However the quality, type and uniformity shows much improvement.

Puppy Dog 3 (1abs)

1. Thorburn’s Northridge Me And Tennessee, quality pup, lovely coat and immaculate presentation. Good head, well made throughout though does not need to grow on.Still a little loose in front and lacking muscling on hindquarters, these can improve with time.

2. Springford’s Keevasdream Red Adair lovely youngster with true front, soundly made and moving well. His inexperience and lack of maturity cost him the class, however he only needs time as ther is much to like about him.

Junior Dog 3 (1abs)

1. Steven’sSaffini Something About You, very smart 14month dog, good head, rather erratic ears, good ribs and developed quarters. Front needs to tighten to complete the picture.

2. Meak’s Keevasdream Red Corvette ultra sound moving pup, well proportioned but lacking furnishings at present. Like his litter brother in previous class time is on his side and it will be worth the wait, a very promising prospect.

Post Graduate Dog 3

1. Barrett’s Saffini Shining Star, lovely sized top quality dog with good head neck and shoulder. Moved soundly and showed well.

2. Cooper’s Janeyjimjams Jubilee Juke, smart dog with good shoulders and good front. Glorious coat, however slightly longer cast.

3. Satherley & Johnstone’s Cameron Fighting Spirit for Silkcroft (Imp). Eye-catching smart dog, excellent presentation, showed well, would have preferred a tighter front and though his colour gave no cause for concern the texture let him down.

Limit Dog 1

1. Tilley’s Janeyjimjams Jubilee Star at Starzak Sh.CM, quality dog with lovely coat and colour. Good head eye and expression, I was particularly impressed with his lovely big strong teeth on a wide jaw. Moved well enough though would have preferred a better layback of shoulder.

Open Dog 8

1. Johnstone’s Ch Whitevale Motorway Madness at Rouxboos, top quality powerful dog, well balanced, sound construction. Good head eye and expression, well sprung ribs and powerful quarters. Sound easy mover. Coat of lovely hue, silky texture falling in soft waves as per breed standard. CC.

2. Matti & Omitogun’s Frontline Mr Feelgood, upstanding eye-catching quality dog, impressive head and expression. Good coat texture. A little on the elegant side for me, but nevertheless a contender. Res CC.

3. Blandford’s Janeyjimjams Joshua, quality dog of sound construction. Good head, ribcage and coat of good colour and texture. Moved soundly without exaggeration.

Veteran Bitch 2

1. Ford’s Kanjuley Scarlet and Gold, quality bitch with good head and amusingly superior expression. Good hard condition, soundly made with good layback of shoulder. Good texture coat. Moved and showed well.

2. Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, another golden oldie, good head, lovely coat of good texture. Dentition not as good as winner.

Puppy Bitch 2

1. Lawrence’s Keevasdream Red Velvet, quality 7month young lady, lovely size. Good Shoulders, good front, sound construction throughout. Moved soundly lacking the furnishings as to be expected but, as her two litter brothers will be well worth watching forin the future. Best Puppy.

2. Herbert’s Julibidd’s Maybe I’m Amazed, another quality young lady, much to like, however shoulder not as good as winner and unsettled on the move. Time and practice will bring its rewards.

Junior Bitch 2

1. Jones’ Saffini Suga Pie Honey Bunch, lovely size top quality bitch. Good head, lovely natural arch to neck running onto well laid shoulders. Good ribs, muscled hindquarters, lovely coat of correct texture. Moved easily true to her construction and showed non-stop.CC & BOB

2. Satherley, Meister & Brooks’ Silkcroft Some Magic Rose, slightly larger bitch, shoulders not as good as winner and loose in front at present. Coat colour good but texture disappointed.

Post Graduate Bitch 4

1. Jones’ Saffini Suga Pie Honey Bunch

2. .Rogers’ Kizzahla Kiss and Tell, nice sized bitch, well made, good coat and colour. Shoulders not as good as winner.

3. MacKenzie’s Limatina Kiss on the Chic, another quality bitch, good front, good bend of stifle but shoulders placement disappointed.

Limit Bitch 5

1. Hughlock’s Janeyjimjams Jolene at Keevasdream, top quality bitch with best construction of the class, topped by glorious profuse coat of correct texture. Good colour accentuated by attractive lightening at ends. Moved with ease. Res CC.

2. Gales’ Flaxela Drop Dead Gorgeous JW, quality bitch of lovely size, good head and expression, paler colour but good texture. Moved well enough.

3. Satherley’s Silkcroft Aurora’s Encore JW, quality eye-catching bitch. Good head, ribs and bend of stifle. Coat of richer colour than 2 but lost on shoulder placement.

Open Bitch 9 (1abs)

1. Atyeo’s Kanjuley Scarlet O’Hara, quality bitch well balanced and soundly constructed, lovely size. Moved soundly. Good coat but lack of facial furnishings did not do her head any favours.

2. Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action JW ShCM, quality larger bitch of paler hue, Soundly made correct head, good expression, good spring of rib. Moved and showed with ease. Best Veteran.

3. Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari JW Sh CM, another quality bitch with lovely head, glorious coat of good texture. Well made and moving soundly, but topline starting to sag which spoilt the overall image.
