SOFT COATED WHEATEN MIDLAND COUNTIES 12 Judge(s): GRAHAM DOWDY I would like to thank the Show Committee for inviting me to judge at this well run show and also for their kind hospitality over the weekend. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their entries and the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions. A few notes on the breed in general. I found Temperaments to be excellent, without exception. Bites were correct in the majority of exhibits. I would however like to see more coats of a true, clear “wheaten” colour as a large number of dogs present today lacked this virtue. Please take care when handling your dogs as some exhibitors are failing their exhibits. JD (1) 1. Omitogun & Matti’s Frontline Mr Feelgood. Lovely head with strong bite & large teeth. Dark eye. Good reach of neck into correct shoulder placement. Chest down to elbow & level topline. Coat of good texture and maturing in colour. Moved well, should have a bright future RDCC. LD (8:1a) Difficult decision between 1 & 2 as both have many virtues 1. Howes Daisymaes Desmond Decker. Excellent head properties, correct bite. Lovely reach of neck & very good shoulders. Deep chest & well boned. Square & balanced, good rear angulation. Handled well pushed hard for top honours. 2. Pascoe’s Middlebury Shooting Star. Correct bite, dark eye & pigmentation. Flat skull with good ear set. Slightly shorter in neck than one but has good shoulder placement. Deep chest level topline. Preferred his coat colour to one. Moved with drive. 3. Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Blonde Neville OD (7) 1. Carter’s Ch Chloeanco Hunni Dream ShCM I judged this dog as a youngster & liked him very much - now in his prime. Very masculine head, correct bite. Excellent reach of neck & shoulder placement. Deep chest, level topline, very good tailset. Wonderful coat for colour & texture. Pleased to award him DCC 2. Fallon’s Janeyjimjams Jenson Jw ShCM. Lovely head properties, correct bite. Dark eye & pigmentation. Another with excellent shoulders & good depth of chest, level topline & good rear angulation. Coat of good colour & texture, moved ok but have seen him move with more enthusiasm than he did today. 3. Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche ShCM PB (5) 1. Grant’s Dannebriel Cirque Surreal. 6m & mature for age, with lovely expression & good head properties. Correct bite & excellent shoulder placement. Deep chest & level topline. Enough bend of stifle. Square & balanced. Coat of good colour. Moved straight fore & aft must have a promising future. 2. Wardle’s Saffini One And Only. 6m Correct bite & lovely pigmentation. Straight front & excellent shoulder placement. Deep chest & level topline, which she held on the move. Slightly longer cast than one. Moved out well. 3. Naylor’s Amaricy I Won't Back Down. JB (3) 1. Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Connemara. Correct bite, dark eye, good stop & correct earset. Enough neck, good shoulder placement. Deep chest & good spring of rib. Square & balanced, more straight fore & aft. 2. Smith’s Amaricy She's My Baby. Sweet expression & good head properties. Preferred her reach of neck to 1. Deep chest. Good rear angulation.
