SOFT COATED WHEATEN BLACKPOOL 17 Judge(s): MR JEFF HORSWELL Always good to be back with the Wheatens, and pleased to report temperaments remain as lovely as ever. Whilst there was a mix of type I thought this entry was more even than in the past. Most heads were ok, none that were really untypical and only a few with a slight dish. A couple of harsh coats, generally coat texture was ok. A few rather too pale. Tails are generally ok. In this entry the biggest problem was hind quarters. Most could have been better going away. Often it was a lack of angulation and/or strength. In a few cases the rear was overangulated, with a high kick - which is totally wrong for this moderate breed. PD (2) 1 Thoburn's Northridge Me And Tennessee. Lovely d for type and full of fun. Well proportioned head, good eye and expression. Enough neck. Well laid shoulder, just a bit untidy in front. Well bodied. Correct topline. Correct hind angulation, which balance with his front. Good coat. Should do very well. BP. 2 Withington's Fantasa Blonde Rufus. Very well handled and super temperament. Long head. Good eye and expression. Correct length neck. Slightly forward in shoulder. Over angulated rear and kicks up too much. Very good body. Level topline. JD (2) Lots to like about both of these, with different things about them. 1 Brooks' Loofahsa Yankee Doodle. Still a puppy. He has a masculine head, good eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Well made front. Correct length of back. Level topline. Tail curls more than idea. Better hindquarters than second. Moved well out and back. BJ. 2 Johnson's Garsayno Gold Kipling. Shapely d. Liked his head, lovely eyes. Lengthy neck. Slightly forward in shoulder. Good width and depth of chest. Level topline. Could have more drive from his rear, but good in front. PGD (3) 1 Tilley's Janeyjimjams Jubilee Star At Starzak. Typy b. He has a good head, well set ears. Long neck. Fair front. Well bodied. Needs more hind angulation. A bit untidy out and back but ok in profile. Better coat than second. 2 Watkins' Zaraslake Lucky Seven. He has a well balanced head. Long neck. Fair front level topline. Rather too much hind angulation. Well set and carried tail. Coat could be softer. 3 Leverton's Carkbark Good Luck Charm. LD (2) 1 Dunhill-Hall's Mother's Finest Jon Snow At Fantasa (Imp Deu). He excels in profile action. Masc head of correct width. Lengthy neck. Quite a good front. Could have slightly more spring of rib. Level topline with well set tail. Good rear with low hocks. Correct colour and liked the sheen to his coat. 2 Moles & Williams' Celtannia Extra Suave. Pleasing outline, he too is a good profile mover but could be tidier out and back. Masculine head. Super pigment. Enough neck. Balanced in angulation. Well sprung ribs, level topline will well set and carried tail. OD (9, 2) Interesting and rather varied class. 1 Thoburn's Northridge Gotan Go. He has a very good outline and proportions and liked his width through. Masc head of correct length and width with a big black nose. Correct neck. Well balanced in angulation. Has a level topline with a well set and carried tail. Moved very well. CC. 2 Moles & Williams' Wheaten Goblins Eros For Celtannia (Imp). He has a super coat, nice open curls and colour is ok. Typical head with super pigment. Lengthy neck. Moderate and balanced in angulation. Ok for body and rib. Rather untidy out and back but very good in profile. RCC. 3 Dowdy's Ch Greentree Gold Mombo To Denzilly (Imp USA). Both very much babies but full of fun and personality. PB (3, 1 )1 Jones' Saffini Suga Pie Honey Bunch. She has a very good head. Good eye and expression. Enough neck. Moderate and balanced in angulation. Level topline. Would like a better tail. 2 Satherley & Grime's Silkcroft Carrowmore Annie. Super temperament. Slightly high at rear at the moment, but should come together. She has a v good head. Lengthy neck. Balanced and moves ok. PGB (5, 2) 1 Holding's Kirktonhill Cara Alainn. Really nicely made and typy b. She has a very good head, correct width and proportions. Lovely eyes. Enough neck. Well made front and good fill of chest. Well bodied with well sprung rib. Level topline. Needs just a little more hind angulation. Very good mover. 2 Satherley's Silkcroft Auroras Encore JW. Not the head of first but she is a really good moving b in profile. Lengthy neck. Front is ok. Well bodied. Good tail set. Well made rear. Could be just a little more of her. 3 Roberts' Janeyjimjams Jubilee Grace. LB (5, 1) 1 Moles & Williams' Celtannia Extra Chic. Won this class on her coat and type. She has a very good head, liked the width and strength and of correct length. Very good eye and expression. Enough neck. Moderate front angulation. Well ribbed, short loin. Level topline. Good tailset and carriage. Enough hind angulation. Could be better moving in rear. 2 Busby's Calvenace Killer Queen At Zakby. Another typy b with a good coat. Not the head of first, just a bit blocky and bold in eye. Good neck. Well balanced in angulation and quite a good mover. Needs a bit more depth of chest. Tail curls over too much. 3 Thoburn's Northridge Who Are You. OB (6) This was a very good and competitive class. 1 Clarke's Flaxela Weaver Of Dreams JW ShCM. She has a super head, lovely eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Well laid shoulder, good upper arm. Well bodied. Level topline with a well set tail. She has a short loin. Quite a good rear, could have a little more width of second thigh. Moved well in profile and v accurate coming towards. CC & BOB. Put on a great performance in the large group ring where she was shortlisted. 2 Tilley's Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action JW ShCM. 9 yrs and in great form. She has a feminine head, which is where she scored over third. Good neck. Well balanced in her angulation and she isIs a v good profile mover. Maybe slightly long in back, but holds a firm topline, with a well set and carried tail. RCC. 3 Hill's Janeyjimjams Jive Queen Of Hollyroad.
