GLEN OF IMAAL SKC MAY 15 Judge: Mr P R Eardley (Sherex) BEST OF BREED : 3462 GEORGE, Mrs K A & SULLIVAN Miss N C Romainville Billy Whizz GLEN OF IMAAL JUDGE SKC MAY 15 Glen of Imaal Terriers Thank you to the Glen exhibitors for a decent entry. Type is a bit mixed at present which presented me with a few difficult decisions. Heads in particular concerned me. JD (3) 1 Alstead’s Golden Spurs, very promising as he is such a good type. Cracking head on this youngster & as it turned out he possessed one of the best heads of the day with lovely ears. Good outline & moved OK in all directions. In this slow maturing breed there is much better to come if he develops as he is doing. RCC which he won on his lovely breed type; 2 Rogers’ Gleann Dynamo Man at Jeonty, a real baby as just 6 months old & giving loads away in a junior class. He has a super temperament with great attitude, lovely bone, the makings of a good head & moved well. Hopefully he will continue to develop along these lines. BP. PGD (0). LD (2,1a) 1 Hardy’s Amard High Flyer, I liked this one a lot, he has matured well with lovely substance but not coarse. He had character & was interested in everything around him, good coat texture & quality, moved well. Could well make up if he continues along these lines. OD (3,1) 1 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Billy Whizz, eyecatching dog as he has a good outline with all the substance & power that one needs in a Glen. He was lovely to go over on the table & was well presented & handled. Moved assertively & generally looked the finished package. I awarded him a RCC as a young dog & I am pleased to see that he has more than fulfilled my expectations. CC & BOB. He is definitely the dog on form; 2 Rogers’ Bregorrey Wannabe Victory by Jeonty, nice type but even at 3 still has some maturing to do as he still looks a touch up on the leg. Hopefully there is more development to come. Good headed dog. One for the future. VD (1) 1 Hadley’s Donvaleset Rebus, 8 years old & at his peak. Nice outline, OK in head & a good mover. Under the coat there is actually a very nice dog who moves well & with different presentation he could be a contender. JB (2) 1 Hardy & Tune’s Amhard Jeez Louise, 10 months & lots to like about this one. Good coat & condition, nice outline, lovely tail & moved well. I shall keep an eye on her; 2 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Maggie May, decent sort who was a bit in between coats & a bit reserved. Nice to go over but is quite weak behind which detracts. PGB (3,1) 1 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Fade To Grey, standing looks a good sort with nice neck & shoulders, not cooperating fully but handler got the best out of her, good presentation. A bit plain in head; 2 Hardy’s Amhard Indy Kate, not the most glamorous but there were things I preferred on this one. A difficult decision. LB (2) Interesting contest between these two. 1 Seall’s Bregorrey Madam Defiance, very much my sort of head & was pleasing all over, moved well up & back, could do with a bit more substance; 2 Baldock’s Ellerton Dusky Beauty, better substance on this one & she had plenty of attitude. However she did not quite have the head of the winner & could not match her movement. OB (4) 1 Harley’s Ch Donvaleset Brier, steady & mature, nice outline, good coat, moved well up & back & well presented. Head is a bit strong for me. RCC; 2 Baldock’s Ch Jeonty Maybe Daysee, nice solid girl, OK in head, a bit untidy up & back; 3 Seall’s Bregorrey Lady Belleisle. VB (1) 1 Seall’s Ch Brockland Belle Bregorrey, very much my type, lovely headed girl, good neck & outline, feminine but still workmanlike, moved well & demonstrated how well Glens can last. Was pleased to award her the CC. PAUL EARDLEY |
