GLEN OF IMAAL JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 10

Thank you to my two very efficient stewards – they were a tremendous help.

My insistence on loose leads, when moving the exhibits, was intended to allow the heads to be carried
naturally to show a more natural gait, thereby a judge can better see the extension and drive
along with the overall soundness of the dog..

Teeth on the whole were good or acceptable, breed characteristics taking priority.
The dogs in the line up for the CC’s were consistent for type.

Junior Dog (1)

1st Croft’s Glenwellieka.Flint of Flynn. Blue. Topsized young male. Excellent width of back skull with small mobile ears. Good mouth. Well boned. Good moderate neck into a well laid shoulder. His coat was very soft and curly with no undercoat, although with time, patience and future care this should correct itself. His front is correct but assessing his movement was hard as he pulled away from his handler, which caused him to elbow out on the left.
However he is sound and given time will be one to watch for.

P/Grad Dog (4)

1st. Ashcroft’s Romainville Typhoon. Brindle. Excellent masculine head and expression. Ears small and well placed.
Good front angulation into a well laid shoulder. Well proportioned with excellent bone,
his coat is the correct double with a coarser outer coat. Well angulated behind, on a loose lead he strode out well.

2nd Barnes’ Brockland Blackadder at Malsville. A smaller dog than the first, with a good breadth of skull,
good ear carriage and round eye. His front is bowed and the presentation of his feet correct.
Good proportions and well boned for his size, his coat is short but it is a double coat.
Movement was sound with good drive from the rear.

3rd Horton’s Jeonty Highlander Boy

Limit Dog (3)

1st Smith’s Romainville Bodhran. Brindle. Excellent head and expression, skull of good width with small mobile ears. Moderate and very muscular neck into a well laid shoulder. A slightly more compact dog with very good bone.
Well angulated behind, he moved with purpose and drive. RCC

2nd Hadley’s Donvaleset Rebus Blue. A masculine dog, his skull is not as broad as the first.
Ears are small and well placed. Mouth is scissor. Moderate neck into a well placed shoulder,
good front and rear angulation, his feet appear long but that is due to excess coat.
Handler needs to be more aware of what his dog is doing. Lots of old coat with the new one is starting to come through.
Movement is sound.

3rd Barnaby’s Kenocto Chiefs Song

Open (3-1abs.)

1st Harley’s Beatrixs Boy with Windarra from Donvaleset. Blue. Powerful male with a strong head and expression.
Good ear carriage and round eyes, mouth is scissor. Super condition with good front angulation. Well laid shoulder.
Front view shows the bow and presentation of the feet. Coat is double and the overall impression is of a substantial dog. Moved out well and soundly. CC & BOB

2nd Welch’s Bel Ch. & Ch. Brockland Brayhead Lad. Blue. A different type of Glen to the first dog, having more length of leg and a squarer profile. A masculine dog with good ear carriage and round eyes he has a longer neck.
Although his upper arm is steep he has a bow and the presentation of his feet is correct. Good forward reach,
I would like more drive behind and he was toeing in coming back.

Puppy Bitch (3-1Abs.)

1st George and Sullivan’s Romainville Lily. Wheaten, Feminine baby, Good head well filled in under the eyes.
Small ears carried correctly, scissor bite, moderate neck, well proportioned with good bone.
Coat a little soft but the adult coat is starting to appear. Moved out well.BP

2nd Bill and Yates Romainville Saffie for Rogame. Blue. Litter sister to first, a confident feminine girl.
Correct bite and round eye. Well laid shoulder, at this stage of her development she needs more fore-chest.
Coat is short but is the correct double. Sound mover.

Junior Bitch (2)

1st Bill and Yates Romainville Saffie for Rogame

2nd Wither’s Pajantick Patsy Jane. Wheaten. Feminine head on the small side. Good scissor bite.
Correct moderate neck into a well laid shoulder. Front presentation is exaggerated with the pasterns touching. Proportions and hind angulation are good with a correct double coat. Moved soundly.

P/Grad Bitch (3-1Abs)

Baldock’s Jeonty Maybe Daysee Wheaten. Feminine bitch with a good breadth of back skull,
ears are mobile and eyes are round, with a correct scissor bite. Very good front angulation.
The chest is of a good width, better than is suggested by her coat. On being handled the legs bow correctly with the feet being beautifully presented. Well proportioned and with good bone for her size she has good extension and drive and moves soundly. RCC

2nd Hadley’s Donvaleset Domino. Blue. Another feminine bitch, good breadth of back skull well filled in under the eyes, small ears correctly carried and a scissor bite. Well proportioned bitch, the upper arm appears steep,
but it is the old coat hanging down, she has very good front angulation. Good bone and hind angulation,
her old coat detracts. Movement is erratic but sound.

Limit Bitch (3 -1 abs.)

1st Harley’s Donvaleset Brier. Wheaten. Strong bitch. Good ear placement and carriage. Scissor bite.
Front and rear angulation is very good. Well boned, her coat is well presented and correct. Stands and moves well, however lost it in the challenge, moving with her nose down.

2nd George and Sullivan’s Briar Rose at Romainville Blue. Very feminine bitch, but with no weakness.
Ears are heavy, round eye, the mouth is a correct scissor. She presents well when viewed from the front, the shoulder is well laid, her proportions are good, as are her front and rear angulation. Coat is correct but her movement is lack lustre

Open Bitch (3-1abs.).

1st George and Sullivan’s Romainville Miss Moneypenny. Wheaten. Good breadth of skull,
ears are mobile and mouth and eyes are correct. Moderate neck flows into a well laid shoulder.
Another bitch that when viewed from the front presents herself so correctly. The bone is commensurate with her size. Front and hind angulation are very good. The coat is short but correct. Moves with real drive and extension BCC

2nd Forbes’ Ch. Jeonty Hasaceilidh with Karensbrae. Blue. Another Glen that has a slightly squarer profile.
Very feminine with a good back skull, well placed and mobile ears. Presents well when viewed from the front,
well boned with good front angulation. Coat is short and movement is very sound
