BEDLINGTON JUDGE WINDSOR 13

Bedlington Terriers

I was very pleased with the entry of 41 exhibits. This number was not surprising as it had been about 12 years since I last judged the breed in the UK. There were only five absentees. I felt that in the main heads were good though in some cases eyes could be a bit better. Movement was mixed with a few rather erratic in front & others not moving well behind. Tail carriage was in the main good – & that is something I have noticed fails a good deal in some countries overseas.

V (2)

1 Caines’ Burmington And Me Too, pleasing dog with good head & well carried topline, good bone & correct feet, OK in eye, in great condition with just the right amount of body;

2 Jones’ Ch Pengerrig Iron Duke, another younger dog with a good neck & OK in hindquarters. Not quite the overall shape & outline of 1 but good depth & correct loin & underline.

PD (0).

JD (2)

1 Honey’s Burbeach Sunlight, an easy winner here & good for size without being in any way overdone. Good skull & correct strength of muzzle, scored in body, tail & movement over

2 McCourt & Burmington’s Hush A Bye, good enough in head & expression but really needs much more body to complete the picture & was not good in tail carriage. OK in coat texture & correct in rib.

YD (0).

PGD (3)

1 Davies’ Honeymist Sunny Delight, pleasing overall outline & OK for size. Could have moved more positively in front but very pleasing in skull & muzzle, correct bone & well presented;

2 Winstanley & Alders’ Catchfraze Okie Dokie, scored in eye over 1 but not quite the outline, correct feet & pasterns, enough depth of chest & good in underline; 3 Smith’s Vakurblue Eggie Bread.

LD (1)

1 Garbutt’s Highdene Hitman at Aireview, pleasing dog with a good head, OK in front standing, good topline held very well on the move, good for size & correct in pasterns, enough depth of chest & OK in stifles.

OD (10)

Very good class & there were quite a few good ones entered here.

1 Walshaw & Richardson’s Janmark Jeremiah, caught my eye going around the ring for his typical outline without being overdone there, OK for size, good in feet & moved really well in front & behind. He has a very typical head, eye & expression, good neck & has enough bone & was typical in pasterns, well presented without being over presented. CC & BOB;

2 Cumming’s Ch Rocabec Definitely Maybe, another with a very good typical outline, good bone & very pleasing in head & expression, good neck, topline & underline with good depth of chest, good coat & he too was not overdone for size, correct neck & good in shoulder. RCC;

3 Davies’ Honeymist Indigo Blues.

PB (5)

1 Davies’ Honeymist Posh Dreamz, very pleasing outline & of correct size, moved better behind than 2, held topline well on the move & has enough depth of chest for age, pleasing in proportions, good in pasterns, enough bone, pleasing in head & muzzle & good ears. Better moving in front when taken on a loose lead. BP;

2 Cumming’s Honeymist Hot Spice at Rocabec, another pleasing one with an excellent outline & neck, good head, very well angulated behind but moved at times a shade close there;

3 Beesley’s Lowbrook Little China Girl at Flintstor.

JB (2)

1 Fielding’s Burbeach Starlight, correct size & good typical outline & topline moving, enough coat which was more advanced than 2, good front & correct neck, good stifle, moved out well in front & behind, enough depth of chest for age, correct tail carriage;

2 Honey’s Burbeach Moonlight, appeared less mature than 1 & lacking a shade in coat quantity, but a promising youngster coming on well. Moved well in front & behind.

YB (1)

1 Kinns’ Burmington Reet Petite at Kinnuva, a biggish bitch for her age, good shaped feet, good head & neck, moved just a shade close behind but OK in tail carriage & pleasing in expression. Could be slightly better in outline at times.

PGB (4)

1 Winstanley & Alders’ Catchfraze Moment In Time, scored behind over 2 here, good in neck & outline & enough bone, correctly shaped feet, enough stifle & just the right amount of body, good topline & typical tail carriage;

2 Godden’s Vakurblue Bacon Buttie, another very pleasing bitch in outline & for type but could move slightly more positively behind at times. Good in front & OK in rib, correct bone & substance & from a type point of view scored really well;

3 McNally’s Aireview Dancing Queen at Conekesheved.

LB (6)

1 Lacey’s Bowlingbrook Trick Or Treat, scored in movement over 2 while in neck & outline they were both good, very good in head & skull, good length of neck without exaggeration, good stifles & OK for size;

2 Butler’s Yarbach Gorgeous Gabby, I thought at first she was to be my winner here when seen in profile but on moving them I decided on 1. This one is also good for type & scored in outline, pleasing in ears & OK in coat, well carried tail;

3 Winstanley’s Catchfraze Flirty Gertie.

OB (5)

1 Yearley’s Ch Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, very pleasing for type & overall quality. Could be in better coat. Good in head & somewhat better in eye & expression than 2 & also excellent in rib, moved out very correctly with precision, & was good in front & behind. She is correct size for a bitch. CC, in the challenge for BOB she just didn’t have much enthusiasm for the job;

2 Davies’ Ch Honeymist Crazy Rhythm, another very pleasing one with more coat than 1, could stand better in stifle at times but nevertheless her movement was really good with plenty of drive, good head & neck & correct feet. RCC;

3 Walshaw’s Ch Janmark Misty Horizons.
