BEDLINGTON JUDGE WELKS 26
The sun shone on a glorious Malvern showground. I would like to send my sincere thanks to the WELKS committee, exhibitors and my two fantastic stewards (your help and good humour was much appreciated!)
As always there was a wide variation in type, making choices difficult in some classes. My main concern was the lack of depth of ribs in quite a few exhibits and heads too short, not the long and tapering jaws required.

1st. Mollora Red Kite for Tobanie (Hewitt-Taylor)
9 year old liver dog of nice size that has matured extremely well. Pleasing head and expression, with excellent dentition. Correct front and good angulations, deep flat ribs, well muscled. Kept his top line on the move, moved well with purpose. BV
2nd. Kinnuva Dark Sleekester (Mr N M Kinns)
Similar comments as the first, 9 year old liver with striking dark jacket. Excellent muscle tone and fitness. Just preferred head and top line of first.

1st. Mickleview Fly High (Butler)
8 month old blue. Good for top line and size, still a baby and needs to drop a little in chest but that said should mature well. Movement in class difficult to assess as quite unsettled but more to together in the challenge.

1st. Rhicullen Blue Knight (Jackson)
13 month blue dog of nice length, good front assembly, decent angulation and ample bone. Good head with correct ears and small dark eye. Not standing to best advantage and when moving difficult to assess.
YD. 1 (0) 1st. As JD.
PGD. 4 (0) 1st. Mickleview Harvest Moon (Scott)
Up to size taller blue dog in good coat. Lovely horseshoe front and well ribbed. Decent head of good length, dark eye and thin ears. Best mover in the class, light mincing gait keeping his topline.
2nd. Ratswell Bring Me Sunshine (Poultney)
Slightly heavier built blue dog than first but similar in many ways. Excellent length of head with good dentition, nice expression.

1st. Jobanker Rocky Road (Poultney)
Liver dog in reasonable coat. Nice length of body with correct topline. Good strong head without coarseness, large teeth and fine ears. Movement was ok but just lost his topline a little.

1st. Sharnor Sultan of Spica (Fletcher)
Blue dog of very nice make and shape, lovely flowing topline and angulations. Liked his height to length proportions. Head of good length with correct fine ears and good dentition. Coat maybe a little soft and profuse but all other qualities outweighed this. Moved well around the ring with a typical gait. DCC & BOB.
2nd. Ch Conekesheved Out of the Blue JW (McNally)
Another blue dog of quality but different in type. In good coat of colour, beautifully presented. Just preferred proportions of first in head and body length. Moved very well, a close decision. RDCC.

1st. Bowlingbrook Makingwhoopi (Lacey)
8 year old blue in glorious coloured jacket. Lovely size and shape. Held her topline well on the move. Would maybe like a little more of her.

1st. Mickleview Lay Down Sally (Scott)
8 month old blue. A lovely puppy could have taken home. Good in length to height, nice angulations and gently curved topline. Needs to drop a little in brisket but has time on her side. Good head and lovely expression. Moved well. BP.

Blue bitch just out of puppy. Excellent body proportions with good length and depth of chest, lovely flowing lines. Super length of head with strong jaws and large teeth, fine ears and great expression. Moved well. Will watch her progress with interest. BCC.

1st. Silverkinn Madam Grand Slam (Kinns)
Blue of good length with depth of brisket and correct topline. Good bone and well muscled. Head of good length with good dentition. Moving a little close behind but with purpose.
2nd. Tunman Apple Be Lucky for Pocoblu (Collier),
Different type to first a daintier dark coated blue. Very pleasing outline everything in proportion but would have preferred more length of head and just a little more of her.
PGB.

Soft coated blue. Very nice outline when standing, liked her height to length with good loin. Reasonable head length and jaw. Moved ok.

1st Janmark Dame Dame Dame (Hanes)
Up to size blue that I liked a lot. Very shapely with a deep chest, nice topline, good angulation and front assembly. Super head with strong jaw and teeth. Best mover in the class.
2nd Kinnuva Expresso Elixir (Kinns)
No nonsense dark blue of better size, nice proportions and height to length. Preferred head and more precise movement of first.

1st CH Janmark The Name of the Game JW (Hanes)
Quality blue in good coat. Lovely outline and proportions, correct front assembly, standing on well boned legs with correct hare feet. Fine ears and small dark eye with sleepy expression. Best mover in class. Close decision in the challenge. RBCC.
2nd. Squidlyannes Dreamer (Chester)
Dark blue in lovely coat, many similar qualities to first. Standing very pleasing outline with over all good proportions. Lovely head with length and strength of jaw. Not the movement of class winner.
Jane E Graham.
