BEDLINGTON JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 25

Many thanks to the Association for the invitation and for the hospitality on the day. May I also take the opportunity to thank my two ring stewards David Harris and Dolores Stephons for their help with running the ring and making it a pleasurable experience. I found on the whole a mixed entry making it extremely difficult to judge to the breed standard and type. Movement was generally good given the ring surface and I found a good number of exhibits with what I can only describe as “thick ears” and not as asked for in the breed standard, which is “thin and velvety texture”. I was aIso surprised to find a good number of exhibits with long nails, road work helps to keep them short once cut. I found no cracked or corny feet, runny or tear stained eyes.
